Classroom environment is extremely important for successful learning. As both an educator and parent I want a positive learning experience for my students and personal children. A classroom environment; however is more than just a look or design of a room. It is all the elements combined. I think students, teaching methods, and the teacher make up the diversity of a classroom environment. The physical design of a classroom needs to be visually stimulating, and have room for student creativity. There should be designated areas for different activities. Positive learning environments are also easily adaptive; giving both students and teachers a sense of ownership for their space. Student needs must be addressed with in the classroom environment. In my personal classroom I make sure I am approachable to all my students. I want my students to know they are valued regardless of differences. I feel that this is my room and we take care of each other. I always try to handle any issues myself before having to go to administration. I model positive social skills such as empathy, tolerance, patience, problem-solving, and effective communication daily. I make myself have the same expectations as my students. I want my students to feel trust, and reassured that I am here for their best interest. The physical design of my class room is oriented around small groups The room is decorated in a fun under the sea theme. I don’t place my students off in desk I keep them at a kidney table with me. We have all expectations posted around the room. I also have a treasure box for positive reinforcement. Each student has a role or responsibility listed. By assigning these roles and posting them I am holding each student accountable for their actions. I also feel like this gives them a sense of control. They know that they help our class run
