Even though I may not agree with everything what Oswald Sanders is saying in his book, I think it is one of the best leadership books I have ever read.
Positive things: The good things about the book is that the author has plenty of experiences from his own life to share to his readers which include pastors and even leaders or even for those who will become leaders. Sanders not only wrote from his personal experiences alone but also from the experiences of literally dozens of other historic personages such as the men like Luther, Supergeon, Carey, Tyndale, Mueller, Whitefield, McCheyne etc.

Personally, I found the chapters on "the cost of leadership" and "the perils of leadership" to be very profound and I appreciate very much for the author’s thought.
I also like and appreciate very much on the author’s emphasize on walking in character, integrity, humility, and obedience to the Word of God as a spiritual leader. Chapter topics include searching for leaders, insights on leadership from Paul and Peter, prayer, time, reading, improving leaders, responsibilities, tests, delegation, Nehemiah, and etc. are very important and good to not only just read but try to practice in daily leadership life.
Agreements: I found Chapter 15, The Cost of Leadership as to be the most meaningful chapter for me. According to Sanders, leadership is all about bearing his own cross instead of taking all the glory and honor. He tells the readers in this particular chapter that leaders will take up their cross and be lonely, tired and criticized instead of praises, rejected, pressured, confused, and their family will also pay a price. Throughout the book, the reader gets the sense that spiritual leadership is costly and dangerous while at the same time it is very rewarding and
