The chapter “Clarify What’s Important to you” introduces several successful leaders and many praiseworthy values to me. Although each leader comes from different environments and possesses different characters, all of them keep their precious values in mind and persist in chasing their ideal lives. With the great collaboration between them, Capital was invented and became one of the most important books in the world. When I have some hard problems, I will collaborate with my friends. It not only saves time, but deeps the friendships between us. The third core value I choose is responsibility. I think responsibility is the basic foundation of collaboration. For leaders, what makes these dreams come true is having strong qualities such as leadership practices, values and strengths. If developed and learned how to use correctly, these are what take leaders to the next level and accomplish great things. Throughout our dreams unit we read The Pearl and Of Mice and Men, multiple articles, and watched multiple YouTube videos all about following or not following dreams. Even though dreaming is sometimes viewed as a waste of time, it’s worth it to dream because it keeps life interesting, gives us something to work towards, and makes us happy. I believe it is worth it to dream because it keeps life interesting. This is shown by a YouTube video called “What are you Living For?”
Although there will always be endless and countless challenges, I will undoubtedly overcome it through my values that I have gained from my past experiences. Throughout my life, I met people who did not have second thoughts of helping me, and I would not be where I am now without their help and support. Two of my four core values, which correlates, are caring and community involvement, because I believe that everyone will need help at some point in life, and it always feels good to give back, not just to the people who helped me, but also when being involved in the community as I know that I am making a difference. Caring for others, not just thinking of myself, gives me a sense of fulfillment, which is my top core value.
