I am a average 8th grader who would be honored to attend an early College High School. I would appreciate attending Clear Horizons High School for the reason of extending my learning capability and challenging my thinking. If I were to attend Clear Horizons High School my expectations would be to insure I will be not only going to college but finishing a bachelors degree. My main obstacle as a student is being too nervous to ask questions and speak in front of the class. As a student with A's and B's I would like to exspand my learning. With Clear Horizons being the the 5th highest school in the state I would appreciate attending and having the experience. At the moment I am not learning as much as I would like to in my Pre-Ap classes even
High school did not prepare me for college at all. I didn’t even have to take any finals junior or senior year. Everything was very laid back and I felt like I had all the time in the world. My classes consisted of mainly art and band, so I didn’t have a whole lot of tough, time consuming assignments. The longest paper I have ever written was two pages. Even in my AP Calculus class everything was very laid back. I entered college with the same mindset; I thought I could handle

I do not dream of becoming a famous idol or a millionaire. I dream of being able to achieve goals that will impact my life and the rest of the world. Four stressful years, 28 credits, and innumerable hours of no sleep. I will walk across the stage and receive my diploma with a grin of accomplishment. I am proud to share that I will be the first high school graduate in my family's generation, but I do not want to settle for a high school diploma;
High School is every Junior High students dream. It is a time in a student’s life where he/she receives a large amount of freedom as well as responsibility. Mom no longer accompanies the teenagers at the movies and one can even drive himself/herself there. Academics are important also because these grades determine if you are college bound material. But, are freedom and academics the only parts of a solid High School career? I myself believe that there is more to High School then freedom and academics. High School is also a time when young adults are entering into society as individuals. They are on their way to adulthood and their education during this time should stretch further than just an academic education. I attended a private high school known as "Brother Rice High School", where I received more than just an academic experience. When some people hear the word "Private" school they think of words such as: "Stuck up," "Rich," or "Snobby," but these are not accurate portrayals. One must look inside the doors of the school before making such negative connotations and if you did you would realize that this is not the case. Brother Rice High School is an academic institution that teaches young men academic fundamentals as well as Christian morals and social values.
After years of education from K-12 there is still the question if a high school senior is academically prepared for college. Furthermore, it may be understandable for a concerned parent to pose this question but what about the student? In a survey of W.VA seniors, MMM MMM points out that “12.4 percent of survey respondents said they felt ‘very prepared’ for college, while . . . 10.7 percent felt they were ‘not prepared at all” (8). In these long years of education we expect students to be ready, but what does it mean to be ready for college? Needless to say, there is an issue with high school students being prepared for college. But in order to classify someone as being ready for college or not we have to come to a common understanding of what it means. A student that needs to take additional education to have the knowledge to be prosperous is not considered college ready (What Does College and Career Readiness Mean). When a High school senior leaves home and goes off to college he/she should have the potential to make all A’s throughout college. A student is college ready when he/she has acquired characteristics and skills from K-12, which include time management, perseverance, a drive to become successful, and a working knowledge of basic subjects: these can be reflected through, but not limited to, standardized test and the individuals GPA.
However, the question that does stand is if a college education is right for every high school student. From early education to secondary education, the belief that one can go anywhere from here and achieve whatever they set their minds to have been pounded into students heads. With these statements, there is always that underlying idea that these goals can only be achieved with the help of a college education, but this isn’t always the case. Counselors and teachers have been scouring the halls and classrooms in high schools encouraging the prospect of college while neglecting to offer other paths and choices that could fit a student better. Almost every person in this country can agree that school is a remarkable honor and something that is definitely not frowned upon, but the pressures to only look towards and pursue college could get in the way of what is best for a certain individual. By telling all students that they should attend college no matter the circumstances is potentially doing some of them a disservice
How well did high school prepared me for college? My personal overall experience of high school was a bit disappointing because high school was not what I expected. High school was just another chapter of my life because I just learned to keep myself in the right path and continue school. Ever since my freshman year I felt like if high school was just a daycare because as usual we had the silly people around trying to capture attention from others. High school was pointless to me because I’ve always had present my parents words and they’ve proved me those words are true. In order to success you just need to try and if you can’t success the first time try it once again but next time try harder, nothing in this world is impossible its just the wanting to accomplish things.
The high school education system is designed to developed and support the top ten percent of most high school students. These students typically receive more awareness of the resources available to them to achieve a higher education. Even though many of these students receive help from their parents, they also receive the scholarships, and advising to make their transition as smooth as possible to the four-year
There is a constant myth that going to an elite school will make you successful, and that myth should be abolished. Public schools offer great skill development at an affordable price. Private schools are ranked highly, but may not be worth the money, and the effort in the long run. Overall anyone can be successful, but for the most part they need to attend a college that will develop them, and prepare them for life with a job. The stress of college decision is especially high in the United States where people from around the school don’t have the same myth, and are less stressed about the decision. Americans should adopt this same attitude, and become a little less stressed when it comes to schools, and life in general. The important thing is that you continue to challenge yourself, and craft new important

I envision high school as an essential stepping stone for everyone. The era where every individual lacks the complete confidence in defining who they are or what they want to be. The four years of high school was the moment and opportunity to seek the interests that stood out to me the most. The experiences you make and the people you associate with are a crucial part of finding yourself.

In this ever evolving world, being able to establish a consistent area of interest is as elusive as being able to choose the perfect car. Every new course promises a new career option, every new research area hints at a new profession and every new product beckons future upgradation. This plethora of choices either inspires or perplexes. In my case I was lucky to experience the former outcome. The branch of mechanical engineering lured me into its reassuring yet exciting embrace at a very early age. The idea of a conventional mother branch like mechanical engineering conceiving advanced interdisciplinary design based applications like biomechanics, robotics seemed irresistible. The passion for science was already deep founded in me during my school days when I used to build various projects and models in science fair each year. My first multidisciplinary project was a fabricated human model to demonstrate the blood circulatory system by making use of mini centrifugal pump, red colored water and transparent pipes.
