Statement Of Purpose: Early College High School Student

As a student enlisted in the Early College High School program, it is essential that I know what my academic journey has in store for me, and the resolutions to the milestones that coincide along with my expedition throughout college and life overall. My mission is to become a successful and credible Forensic scientist alongside making an impact in the criminal justice system. In order to maintain an adequate lifestyle, I must create goals that reflect my academic and career needs including; getting through my first two years at Early College High School, graduating with a degree and placement in the high percentile range, and carrying out my profession in a laboratory.
Since the Early College High School runs throughout high school

and transitions into Tarrant County College or TCC’s scheduling, my first goal is to get through my first two years of the programs with no regrets. This specific goal reflects the priorities of my other goals. Without the fundamental base of this goal, it would be improbable to obtain the other two goals, within the time range. I have composed a list of essential steps that will help me get through the Early College High School Program in a timely and organized manner. In order to achieve this goal, I will make checking and updating my planner a requirement and incorporate it into my daily routine. I will also review any given material that I received that day after school, for a minimum of sixty minutes. An important aspect I must incorporate is the aspect of socializing, joining committees, organization and clubs will most likely make the experience more enjoyable. Lastly, I will minimize my nap taking time span and reduce my rest time to thirty to sixty minutes a day.
My mid-range goal revolves around the ending of my four years at the Early College High School program and graduating with my associate’s degree with placement in the top ten percentile range. Graduating is an essential goal because it will set up the beginning of a new chapter of my life. Balancing my social life and school life, while making sure my academics is my main priority will help me obtain my goal. Participation in dual credit courses throughout my junior and senior year will advance the probability of the goal being completed. Conducting regular study sessions with a group of people, taking advantage of professor’s office and or the Student Tutoring Services at my choice of college, and discussing and debating the objectives/assignments of a course are all routes to reaching my goal of graduating. Also, simply taking advantage of extra credit opportunities or volunteer hours will immediately increase my chances of achieving my goal.
My final goal is to simply be out in the work field, applying my knowledge in laboratories and in crime scenes, serving as a scientist and a way towards justice. Once I have graduated the Early College High School Program and received my associate’s degree, it is time to apply my experience to my institution of choice. Working is an important goal for me because it will stabilize and determine the outcome of my life. I will begin by getting to know the area and environment in order to collect accustoms and information of the area. This will allow me to process the overall feeling and help me pick up any tips that may make the transition easier. Next, I will begin to look for any open job opportunities or internships that require a major in Criminal Justice. Most importantly, I will reflect on my self-worth and capability of completing challenges and overcoming barriers.
