Goal setting is one of the most important tasks that anyone will complete because it helps measure your progress for your life. There three types of goals, short, intermediate and long term. Short term want to be obtained anywhere from 1 day to 3 months, intermediate goals reach from 3 to 6 months and long term goals are set for 6 months and beyond long term is anything that wants to be accomplished.
Everyone has goals, some are as simple as saying that you plan to wash all your jeans on Thursday. This is not a smart goal but it is a goal. When I create a goal I always write down whether the goal is actually SMART, if I find that the goal is not “SMART” than I add all of the attributes of a SMART goal to it. These goals benefit my life because it keeps me organized on what I exactly what to accomplish I life. So far, by using smart goals I have been able to track just how well I have been doing in school. Every time I complete a goal, I get excited to complete the next goal. It’s Measurable because I will know when it has been accomplished. It’s Attainable because it’s achievable. It’s something that’s not too hard or unreasonable. To pick up the phone and make a phone call to the people who care about you is really easy to do. I know I am able going to be able to accomplish it especially because this is something that I want to do. Building a relationship with my siblings is a top priority for me. This goal is Realistic because it’s rational and sensible. It would be unrealistic for me to say that will talk to my sisters 24/7. That is impossible. I also made this goal Time-Bound because I have a specific time when I plan to complete this goal which is by the end of my freshmen year.
