In order to effectively achieve your goals in a timely manner, individuals must undergo strategic planning and personal goal setting in order to establish clear agendas. While there are many different ways to approach such a life-changing path towards success, there is a helpful technique to consider that provides an easy-to-follow tool of motivation known as setting SMART goals.
The concept of SMART goals is based upon specific steps used to encourage one to reach their potential beyond what they believe is attainable. This procedure is called the SMART Goal Setting Procedure, and it's a very powerful one to know and use By knowing how to set SMART goals, you will make yourself (or your group) much more likely to be able to achieve the goals you set. This will give you a greater sense of motivation and accomplishment as you work towards and succeed in achieving your goals.
If you set SMART goals, then you will be setting goals that are much more effective than the types of goals most people try to set. Your goals must also be (M) measurable. If your goals are not measurable, then you you'll never know if you've reached it or not So instead of "to lose weight in the form of fat, " it should be more like "to lose 30 lbs of weight in the form of fat."
The "A" in SMART stands for attainable. If you set a goal of being able to fly for 100 feet without wings or anything other than your own body - then even though that goal would meet the first two criteria of being specific and measurable, it doesn't matter because you'll never be able to accomplish it since it's impossible. So this guideline is easy to follow - just don't try to set impossible goals.
The goal must also be realistic. If you have set a goal for yourself to become a millionaire by tomorrow, you've failed at this one It's true that this goal would be specific, measurable, and attainable (since it's not impossible - after all, you could win the lottery or something), but it is obviously not realistic. Don't set unrealistic goals for yourself because you'll be setting yourself up for failure right from the beginning if you
