Having the right goals makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning. They are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. I maintain high expectations for myself by creating goals such as getting into medical school and ending high school with a 4.0 GPA that are difficult, but within reach. Rather than just reaching them, the key is to become obsessed with them and blow them out of the water. Goals are something I take very seriously and care a lot about, because in my eyes, goals are just dreams with a deadline.

It is difficult to try to accomplish something if it can't be done in a short period of time. You have to choose between what you want now and what you want most. Before you can experience long term success, you must have repetitive short term success. My long term goals include my career, my family, and my community. I set the bar high for myself in wanting to be a pediatrician. This will take 10 plus years of intense, competitive school and testing. Other than my mom, I will be the only member in my family to go to college which puts a lot of pressure on me, but I am not worried because pressure helps me find my limits. Another long term goal of mine that involves my community is to improve the lives of children. I see kids as a blessing that have innocent charm and make you feel fulfilled. No matter where I end up, the well being of children will be my top priority. A final long term goal of mine is to have a happy family. I no longer take marriage for granted and can guarantee that I will always provide for my family physically and emotionally.
