Having the right goals makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning. They are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. I maintain high expectations for myself by creating goals such as getting into medical school and ending high school with a 4.0 GPA that are difficult, but within reach. Rather than just reaching them, the key is to become obsessed with them and blow them out of the water. Goals are something I take very seriously and care a lot about, because in my eyes, goals are just dreams with a deadline.
Short term goals lead to long term success. They are something that can be done within a few weeks or months. My short term goals often change because I am constantly reaching them. This week I have my eyes set on making the varsity baseball team. A large portion is

It is difficult to try to accomplish something if it can't be done in a short period of time. You have to choose between what you want now and what you want most. Before you can experience long term success, you must have repetitive short term success. My long term goals include my career, my family, and my community. I set the bar high for myself in wanting to be a pediatrician. This will take 10 plus years of intense, competitive school and testing. Other than my mom, I will be the only member in my family to go to college which puts a lot of pressure on me, but I am not worried because pressure helps me find my limits. Another long term goal of mine that involves my community is to improve the lives of children. I see kids as a blessing that have innocent charm and make you feel fulfilled. No matter where I end up, the well being of children will be my top priority. A final long term goal of mine is to have a happy family. I no longer take marriage for granted and can guarantee that I will always provide for my family physically and emotionally. Happiness will be cherished in our household and we will make it something that is very
My short term goals academically is to pass all my classes this first semester, and my short term goal professionally is to just continue with my current job of working at target. I work at target 5 days a week and about 35 hours a week. My long term goals academically are to major in criminal justice, and my long term goal professionally is to become a DEA agent.
My short-term goals will be completed throughout High School. I am taking a lot of Mathematical classes in High School, this year I am taking Statistics and Business Math. Next year I will either take Calculus or Precalculus. I like taking math courses because there is a lot of math in anyone's life time. Also my career choices require a lot of math, most classes they like to see I have already taken. I plan to get high grades in all of my classes so Colleges will take me seriously. One of my favorite classes is Statistics and I have a decent grade in it too. My activities at school include being in the Woodshop Club. It is very enjoyable for me and I hope to do more in woodworking as I grow older as a hobby. Activities outside of school include mainly Boy Scouts and work. I plan to get my Eagle Scout rank and I might go on to get Eagle Palms. I work as a Concrete laborer and I also do some finishing, it is a very
My short and long-term goals are mainly focused towards bettering myself and enhancing my education to be able to better care for people. I believe there is always room for improvement in everything that we do and one should always keep that in
In most situations, goals are a great way to achieve success and what we want. Latham and Locke also discover that there are five things that make a goal more likely to be achieved: “... clarity, challenge, commitment, measurable progress, and task complexity... the best way to stay motivated and be successful is to set goals, but the TYPE of goals you set—and the way you set them—matters to whether you will achieve them”
Short term goals are just goals that I want to complete, but aren't on my main list of activities to complete. I am really into taking pictures with my professional camera. This is a hobby that started a few years ago, but never started until last year or so. That is because I didn’t have a camera. I now have a very nice camera and I love it. My cousin got me into taking pictures and I enjoy taking these pictures every time. I plan on
Everyone has a goal when they realized something needs to be done in a certain amount of times. People set goals to meet their expectations and effectiveness on their journey with no hesitation. Every sets of goal have a limit, and it follow the deadline on how we set our goal. A set of goal is a dream that we built to become reality or sometime it can be a total failure. Setting a goal isn’t enough for individual and should not be.
Life has no meaning without goals. In order to succeed setting goal is very important. Without setting goals there would be nothing to look forward to, or even have anything to achieve. Goals are a vital aspect of our lives. It gives a sense of self-confidence. I believe without goals life would just be a plain and no excitement at all. Long-term and short-term goals are intertwined and work similarly to build a house from ground up. I vision myself become a radiologist within the next three to five years. This is my present long-term goal. To achieve my long term goal I have two short term goals, first to get good grades in prerequisites courses and second to complete my grad school program with "A" grade minimum, because graduating with good grades is the stepping stone for my long-term goal.
Goals for me are opportunities for a lifetime. As I work towards my goals in life, I have realized they help me grow as a person. I am a young lady who is balancing life and organizing as things come my way. I take initiative when it comes to projects and solving problems. I enjoy giving back to my community by doing community service such as: working at the hospital, raising books for Africa, and cleaning my neighborhood.
Throughout my entire academic career, the question of what my short and long-term goals are have always been asked of me whenever I would begin a new level of my education. This is an important part of my life because this is where I am able to reevaluate myself and what my goals were. It has allowed me the opportunity to change them to fit my future ambitions. Currently some of my short and long-term goals reflect my ambitions academically.
As Bill Copeland said, “the trouble with not setting a goal is that you can spend your time running up and down the field and never score”. This quotation is applicable because, simply stated, goals propel each and every person forward. Setting a goal gives people the opportunity to not only excel but live life to the fullest. When a person takes the time to sit down and write out goals, it ensures their life is geared towards getting the most out of every moment. As I have matured, the idea of physically writing out my own goals has become more prevalent especially in regards to school.
My short term goals involve graduating from high school in the top ten percent of my class, getting accepted into the University of Mississippi, and gaining life management skills. My long term goals involve gaining my Bachelor's, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees, adopting or fostering children, and early retirement.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.

When I create a goal I always write down whether the goal is actually SMART, if I find that the goal is not “SMART” than I add all of the attributes of a SMART goal to it. These goals benefit my life because it keeps me organized on what I exactly what to accomplish I life. So far, by using smart goals I have been able to track just how well I have been doing in school. Every time I complete a goal, I get excited to complete the next goal. My goals keep me on track for my success and they motivate me to move on to the next goal. It’s an unspoken sensation to feel like you accomplished
In setting a goal, you set up a grand goal and then you break it down into smaller goals. This helps you to further monitor your progress on a smaller scale and helps you stay motivated and focused because each time you achieve one of the smaller goals, it keeps you inspired to achieve the grand goal. Set goals that are definite with a well-known target to achieve, always giving yourself a specific time-stamped to achieve your goals. However, ensure that your goals and time lines set are realistic otherwise you will end frustrated chasing castles in the
