Eagle Scout Short Term Goals

I am Jacob Heeter, member of Troop 56, from Knox, PA. I did my Eagle Scout Project making a handicap accessible walkway from the road to the building at Camp Coffman, Cranberry, PA. I have many ambitions after becoming an Eagle Scout, based around short term goals, after graduation, and career choices.
My short-term goals will be completed throughout High School. I am taking a lot of Mathematical classes in High School, this year I am taking Statistics and Business Math. Next year I will either take Calculus or Precalculus. I like taking math courses because there is a lot of math in anyone's life time. Also my career choices require a lot of math, most classes they like to see I have already taken. I plan to get high grades in all of my classes so Colleges will take me seriously. One of my favorite classes is Statistics and I have a decent grade in it too. My activities at school include being in the Woodshop Club. It is very enjoyable for me and I hope to do more in woodworking as I grow older as a hobby. Activities outside of school include mainly Boy Scouts and work. I plan to get my Eagle Scout rank and I might go on to get Eagle Palms. I work as a Concrete laborer and I also do some finishing, it is a very

demanding job and is the main reason I am going to College. So I don’t have to work hard labor for the rest of my life.
Now for my plans directly after I complete High School.

After graduating High School I plan on continuing my education with a 4 year degree. I chose this because I have put in a lot of hard working hours as a concrete laborer. I do not want to do that for the rest of my life so I decided to go to college. Where the college is located doesnt really matter to me as long as I can come home every now and then to visit my family. At the school I choose I will attend all of my classes and get the best grades I possibly can in my core classes. My brother is at college right now and all he does is school work and he is top of his class right now. But I hope there are places to fish near the school because I would also like to enjoy myself at the

college.
My long term goals will be getting a good, paying, and fun job. Some of my career choices include becoming a Construction Manager or some sort of Engineer. Both include a Bachelor's degree and both include a lot of math. Also the down side is both are high stress jobs, but they pay well. I have recently created a research project about my career choices. In my project I choose Construction Manager and if I choose that career I know I will go to Pennsylvania College of Technology. It has the best program for it. I haven’t done too much research on becoming an Engineer, but will do in the future. They will both provide a stable income for my family and let us live comfortably. Long term activities will include activities like fishing, hunting, and woodworking. I enjoy them very much, it also shows me that when I get a job I will want to live in a rural setting.
While looking at the long term aspects of my life we should look at family. I plan on having a happy family with my future wife. I also want children to teach success to and help them learn all I can teach them. Also I want my kids to get involved in scouting as young as Cub Scouts and eventually earn the rank of Eagle Scout as I will. My long term involvement in scouting might include leading my kids scout troop, and helping future Eagle Scouts earn their rank. My future community involvement will include voting for local and national leaders. I will include Scouting in my everyday life by being prepared for emergencies and showing leadership. I have learned a wealth of knowledge from being a Boy Scout and I am extremely happy for my parents enrolling me in it and helping me every step.
