Throughout my entire academic career, the question of what my short and long-term goals are have always been asked of me whenever I would begin a new level of my education. This is an important part of my life because this is where I am able to reevaluate myself and what my goals were. It has allowed me the opportunity to change them to fit my future ambitions. Currently some of my short and long-term goals reflect my ambitions academically. My long-term goal is to get accepted by my top two college choices which are; Dallas Baptist University and Texas Christian University; who I will choose at that time, is a mystery. Attending one of these Christ-centered colleges will enable me to continually use my faith as a foundation in all that I do. Whichever university I choose, I hope to receive my Associates degree in Creative Writing and my Bachelor’s degree in Counseling. After a few years, I want to attend the same university then receive my Master’s degree in Biology and participate in the Pre-Medicine programs in conjuncture with receiving this degree. With this, I want to be accepted into Medical School and receive my Medical Degree. With my Medical Degree, I want to continue into my dream job as a pediatrician. My career would give me an opportunity to help my community for a while. I honestly don’t plan on going home …show more content…
I hope to graduate high school in the top ten percent of my class. I also plan on applying for as many scholarships as I possibly can to put myself through college. One of those scholarships is this, The Gates Millennium Scholarship. The wonderful opportunity to receive this scholarship is one of my top priorities. With a single mother working a minimal job, it would be very difficult to receive help from her because of the low income. This will insure the completion of my short and long-term
My short term goals academically is to pass all my classes this first semester, and my short term goal professionally is to just continue with my current job of working at target. I work at target 5 days a week and about 35 hours a week. My long term goals academically are to major in criminal justice, and my long term goal professionally is to become a DEA agent.
One day I hope to become a Nurse Practitioner giving compassionate and adequate care to those individuals who are less fortunate and are in need of care. My life experiences, educational background, and determination will drive me through what's to come as I prepare myself to gain my BSN and become a Nurse. It is with great pleasure and excitement that I am applying for admission to Colorado Christian University. I never thought after having a family that I would be attending college. I want to show my children that with hard work and a good spirit anything is possible. They look to me for guidance daily as they grow and mature into who they will become both professionally and spiritually. They are the driving life force moving me forward testing myself with every learning experience. After what I have accomplished so far I know that I can go further and complete what I believe will be my impression and imprint on this world. When I am gone I will look back happily at the legacy I have left for my family as well as the persons I will
As I reflect on my extracurricular and academic activities, I see the essence of my future. I want to attend a great university (like the University of Texas); I want to work hard to become a nurse—a person who has devoted his or herself to caring for the well-being of others.
My short and long-term goals are mainly focused towards bettering myself and enhancing my education to be able to better care for people. I believe there is always room for improvement in everything that we do and one should always keep that in
My educational goals are important to me. My goals are to come out of English 100 and be able to write any kind of memo, document, or resume; because I know someday every one of these writing projects will become useful.
Ever since I was little, I have always had very high career goals for myself. My short-term goal was to work hard throughout high school in order to be accepted to a university, which I accomplished by graduating with a 4.0 grade point average. My next step was to do well my freshman year of college at Eastern Michigan University in order to be accepted into their nursing program that is very competitive. I finished my first year of college with a 4.0 grade point average and was accepted into the nursing program. Now that I am in the program, my goal is to continue to do well in my studies by focusing on my courses and spending as much times as possible studying. I ended my first semester of nursing school with all As and one A- giving me an accumulative GPA of 3.98. I would like to graduate at the top of my nursing class, and I believe this is an achievable goal because I am a very driven and hard working person. When I want to achieve something I will do whatever it takes to do so.
My goals in college are to get involved with student government, play lacrosse graduate in the top of my class all my life of being in school I was always active not just a regular student. Whether it was SGA or sports or volunteer work I was a part of it; all years of school levels I have graduated with honors and I do not want to see anything different now while I am in college. As we all know college is not a walk in the park and I am well aware of that. I have to really be on my game to accomplish my goal of graduating with honors. I am already on the way of my goal, I have already completed 3 business courses and am now on the process of taking one now. I have taken business law, introduction of business, and industrial business; I did not take them at Towson however they still transferred over as business courses.
Over the course of my eighteen years, I have learned the importance of goal setting, despite if I may have decided to alter a few of them. I have learned that goals are the stepping stones to the future and that future success requires thorough preparation. I began setting goals while I was in primary school which eventually unfolded into a reality as I began my years as a high school student. My years in high school has fostered my short and long term goals as I embark on my journey as a medicine candidate.
Life has no meaning without goals. In order to succeed setting goal is very important. Without setting goals there would be nothing to look forward to, or even have anything to achieve. Goals are a vital aspect of our lives. It gives a sense of self-confidence. I believe without goals life would just be a plain and no excitement at all. Long-term and short-term goals are intertwined and work similarly to build a house from ground up. I vision myself become a radiologist within the next three to five years. This is my present long-term goal. To achieve my long term goal I have two short term goals, first to get good grades in prerequisites courses and second to complete my grad school program with "A" grade minimum, because graduating with good grades is the stepping stone for my long-term goal.
Some goals I have for the future are to stay focused and committed to getting the job I want. I’m going to study and get good grades in my classes. By completing the surveys I hope to find other jobs and ideas that would suit me for my future. Looking at the big picture can get you mentally prepared for what you might face in the future. The thing that has shaped my personality in my life so far is family and friends.
As a freshman, I was conflicted about what I wanted out of college. At the time, I naively believed that I would major in Neuroscience and Arabic while completing plenty of biomedical research on the side. Perhaps I would also sign up for a few clubs here and there and thus produce the perfect resume for medical school. In the following year, I realized that my heart was not into the breakneck agenda I planned for myself and I started to reevaluate just what exactly I wanted to pursue in my undergraduate experience. With the aid of many advising sessions I gained a clearer picture of my passions, which as I had come to realize, were what I truly wanted to work towards. Among my interests is Global Health -- in particular, I wish to learn more
I had several personal goals this semester. My goals may be a little different than most because of where I did my practicum at. My first goal was to understand the complete
In Moberg's series The Emigrant Novels, or Utvandrarserien in Swedish, the concept of home plays a pivotal role, as the characters leave one home to find another on the other side of the world. This essay will focus on the first two novels in the series. In the first novel, called The Emigrants (1949), Moberg tells the story of a group of Swedish homesteaders as they decide to emigrate to the United States of America; the New World, around the 1850s. Three families endure hardships in their home country of Sweden, including dry years, wet years, cold winters and late springs; all causing their crops to fail and their children to starve. Multiple years go by where they try everything they can to better their lives, but their patience runs out.
...elieve simply writing these goals out will manifest themselves and I look at where I came from to where I am now and where I can be in the future. I am very enthusiastic about advancing both in academia and career wise above all I am excited about the positive affects my journey will exsanguinate to others clients, family members, friends, and colleagues. As these people will positively affect my journey too in my point of view most things are circular and transactional. We all contribute to each other one way or another.
I aspire to further my education so I can aid people on another level, their emotional level to better their lives. No plan is concrete; nothing ever turns out exactly the way we want it. There are times when there are millions of things piled upon us. People in general stress too much.
