Some goals I have for the future are to stay focused and committed to getting the job I want. I’m going to study and get good grades in my classes. By completing the surveys I hope to find other jobs and ideas that would suit me for my future. Looking at the big picture can get you mentally prepared for what you might face in the future. The thing that has shaped my personality in my life so far is family and friends. Hanging around with family and friends lets me get some of my personality traits from them. Like words they say I might say, and actions they do I might do. When I took the interest profile survey it said I'm fit for the hospitality and tourism sector of jobs. When I took the career cluster matcher it said I'm fit for business, management …show more content…
My biggest weakness is monitoring. When I grow up, I want to become a nurse practitioner. Some things they typically do is perform and order diagnostic tests and analyze results. They also have to perform physical exams, give patients medicines and treatments, and set up plans for patient care or contribute to existing phones. They also have to teach patients and families about patient care and how to stay healthy, and observe patients and diagnose various health problems. The current median wage for a nurse practitioner is $111,140. Nurse practitioners also have a very fast growth rate. Nurse practitioners also have lots of jobs. The reason the job will be good by the time I get out of college is because the nurse practitioner has a very fast growth rate and lots of open job opportunities. Nurse practitioners are definitely trending stronger. When I get into high school, I want to take health science and business. I want to take health science because I've always wanted to do something in the medical field. I also wanna take some business classes because if I end up not liking health science business is my second
Leading You to a Healthy Lifestyle: Nurse Practitioners. I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've grown up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I was familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me.
From five years old up I knew I wanted to be a nurse practitioner. When I was around 13 years old my mom got very sick which had her in and out of the hospital, this only pushed me further in the direction of becoming a nurse practitioner. I would always see nurses in and out of my mom’s room when she was in the hospital, some were nice others were not. I always tell myself, “You’re going to be one of the nice ones, the one that makes the whole ordeal just a little bit better.”
A nurse practitioner (NP) is one who is qualified to treat certain medical conditions without the direct supervision of a doctor. Also known as a registered nurse. (RN)
Many people rush through their daily life without contemplating their actions, thereby missing vast opportunities for achievement. They waste valuable time engaging in frivolous matters instead of putting their energies towards more productive and meaningful purposes. In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Life is not about acquiring money and other facilities; it is about dedicating your life to helping others as much as you can.” The immeasurable value of helping others has been engrained in me since childhood. As a result of my own difficult family circumstances, I have become more sensitive, kind and mindful towards others and their own situations. I have developed a passion for helping others, which, in combination with a proclivity towards medicine has lead to my descion to become a Physician Assistant. I want to live a life where I can provide healthcare and aid to anyone who needs.
Humanity presents individuals with extraordinary gifts as well as weaknesses. Growing up I realized this notion as I gave insulin shots to my younger brother and reminded him to check his blood consistently throughout the day. I was determined to fight this battle with him through researching alternative medicine options and attending his doctor’s appointments. This life experience enlightened me on my compassion for individuals with health issues and my passion for management and prevention of chronic diseases. As a nurse practitioner, my major goal is to help others like my family through properly educating patients and their families while being a source of comfort and strength in their time of distress.
“Nurses don’t wait until October to celebrate Make a Difference Day — they make a difference every day”, explains an unknown author. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need. I am also a person who thrives on being challenged and I always have new goals to achieve, so nursing suits me as few other careers offer as much diversity and learning opportunities so, attending Virginia Commonwealth University is something that has been my desire for the longest. The intentions that I have for when I become a nurse practitioner are to aid and care for the sick, as well as I am able but also to assist doctors and staff as well as I am capable.
Both my current job and are dream jobs are in the medical field they are very similar yet different. For example, my job now is a certified nursing assistant and my dream job is to become a registered nurse. Both jobs consist of taking guardianship of people providing hands-on work, comfort care, and compassion. My dream is to further my career from a nurse assistant and become a nurse that does more for people in the world.
It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry. I chose this pathway because I want to gain the relevant skills and knowledge of my career to be. As someone who wants to become a nurse, I found biology as an important role in the delivery of client car...
Even though nursing is a difficult and demanding profession, it can be very rewarding and exciting. To become a nurse, one must have a degree in nursing, have taken the NCLEX, and be a friendly compassionate person. Most tasks a nurse does are care planning, administering medication, and documentation. Becoming a nurse has many benefits including impacting lives, job security, and a stable income. A person aspiring to become a nurse should consider the different requirements for the career, the typical tasks of the career, and the possible benefits of the career.
In my post secondary studies, many people are interested in what I want to do after I graduate and where I want to go in life. It is far rarer to have people ask the question of why. Why do I want to pursue a career in the medical field? Why do I want to spend my life helping people? Why do I want to attend the nursing program at Clarkson? My answer to the big question of why is not a simple one-faceted answer. I want to be a nurse for a myriad of reasons. In this reflection, I will touch on my long-lasting love for a career in medicine, my experience in school that solidified my desire to become a nurse, and the path that led me to apply to Clarkson College.
Pursuing a degree in my current field was not the first choice I had. When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher and then in high school I wanted to be a nurse. When I went to college I was not accepted into the nursing program because I did not have the right grades to get in, so I was undecided for two years. During, those two years in college it was very eye opening to me because I realized that being a nurse was not what I wanted. I did not want to do all the science and the math, but I chose a major with just that.
The most common first step I like to in my self-assessment is to examine my personality and interests. I make decisions about my academic program and future career based upon my superficial understanding of my own interests, personality, and values, but when I get in my ACA 122 class I have to take the time to deliberate about identifying what exactly makes me unique and then search for academic program and careers that suit me the most. As a college student, I like to choose my academic program and future career paths based upon my interests. For example, I enjoy hands on and explore ideas by analyze and building things which make me be interested in aeronautic designer and computer hardware. One of the consequence I had in my other courses
In my life, I've learned that the only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work. I'm a very hard worker and I take initiative as soon as I get the opportunity. I work well independently and cooperatively on a team. Im very helpful and caring to others. I consider myself more mature than most of my classmates.
I have always been told that I have a big heart because I am willing to take care of anyone or anything that I see. I would love to become a nurse because when I was around seventeen years old I had to take on the role of taking care of my grandparents. It all started in 1998 when my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer and dementia. My grandfather had “sundowners,” which is a form of dementia. With this illness, a person is unsettled in their mind and body. They need to be moving and busy doing something to feel right. A few years later my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer. It was hard for her to do much of anything, with the house work and with grandpa. So this is when I began to help out more.
Service has a special place in my heart. In the past, I have learned that I obtain satisfaction through my work of helping others, it goes hand in hand with my personality. I have always thought that a career in the medical field would be accommodating to this caring/giving mentality I have acquired. Having a career where I would be able to assist someone in need and possibly positively alter their life would be a dream for me. I felt like nursing would allow me to live this dream on a daily basis, yet I thought more in debt about my life goals and ambitions.
