Pursuing a degree in my current field was not the first choice I had. When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher and then in high school I wanted to be a nurse. When I went to college I was not accepted into the nursing program because I did not have the right grades to get in, so I was undecided for two years. During, those two years in college it was very eye opening to me because I realized that being a nurse was not what I wanted. I did not want to do all the science and the math, but I chose a major with just that. When I decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in nutrition I did not know yet what I wanted to do with the degree just that I wanted to know more about food. My studies deal with every population group and all the knowledge that comes with it. My studies now are really helping with my future career goals because for each class that I take they are all connected in some way. I get the best information out of people I talk to. I plan to use my studies to achieve my future goals by getting out there and being active in the community. I am not a person that likes to volunteer but the classes I have taken have been an inspiration for me to love volunteering. The classes that I take in school have me interacting with different people everyday and figuring out what I could do to make their lives easier. Researching different topics and information that I have learned from people helps my knowledge grow because everyone has something important to say. My studies are getting me ready to understand how to conduct a proper interview, how to teach people what I know, and how to service people that cannot get to a hospital, so you must come to them. My studies will not be over when I get my nutrition degree because I also want to get a psychology degree because nutrition and psychology go hand and hand. These degrees would give me a detail on how to deal with patients in this
