The most common first step I like to in my self-assessment is to examine my personality and interests. I make decisions about my academic program and future career based upon my superficial understanding of my own interests, personality, and values, but when I get in my ACA 122 class I have to take the time to deliberate about identifying what exactly makes me unique and then search for academic program and careers that suit me the most. As a college student, I like to choose my academic program and future career paths based upon my interests. For example, I enjoy hands on and explore ideas by analyze and building things which make me be interested in aeronautic designer and computer hardware. One of the consequence I had in my other courses …show more content…
As a transfer student, you have known which cumulative GPA, courses apply to your transcript so that you will meet the requirement of that specific university that you want to go to. You have to maintain a high-grade point average in all your courses that you will take at a community college, which will eligibility, you for scholarship and honor societies that will look good on your college transcript and resume for future employers. ACA 122 also teaches college students to be respectful to their instructor, faculties, advisor, tutors and every aspect of their lives. The one academic change I will implement in the future is to make should have the program that I want to take at a community college or a university and have the best advisors that will the courses that are required for the degree program of study so I will be able to manage my time wisely and I won’t take courses that are not required for my program again. One personal change I will implement in the future will be time management, reading strategies and note-taking strategies. Having a time management plan will help manage my time effectively in order to take responsibility for my learning in a way that is unlike learning in high school and to be a successful college student by having my to-do list, monthly planner, weekly …show more content…
ACA will teach you which learning style you can apply in all your courses not just the easy classes, but also the upper college level as while managing your time and saving money for the time being at a community college or university. ACA will help you as a college student to meet transfer cumulative courses for a university and your program of study at a community college by meeting good advisors and faculties who are willing to should you the right path to take in order for you to finish your program of study on time. As for high school student who are new in college should decide to take ACA if they want to finish their program of study at a community college and transfer to a four year university but if they don’t take ACA they will take long to finish their program of study because some advisors and faculties won’t tell you the best way to take your cumulative courses or program of study in order to finish your money by making you to register for the wrong course that doesn’t require in your program of study therefore make other college student to drop out college without a lot them to complete their program of study. My advice to any future student is to focus their mind on self-assessment, academic goal
One assessment cannot accurately gauge what a person should do for the remainder of his or her life. The suggested occupations from the FOCUS 2 assessment for me are not occupations in which I have a true interest. Even though I possess the skills that would help me have a successful career in that type of field, I feel like I would be bored and unhappy in such a career. The results of my career assessment proved interesting, but did not change the degree I plan to complete at Liberty
During my transition to college I have learned and experienced many things which include more work, how to study, how to manage time and many more great things. The difference between high school and college I believe is that we are more challenged and gain more academic freedom by which I mean we have more choices in what we can take and how we go about completing assignments for example we have a week to get a set amount of work done while in high school we do an assignment each day. Also after becoming a college student I feel like I have risen to a new level in my academic “life” and feel more inclined to go to college since I am experiencing it first hand in high school. After being in ACA 115 my attitude has changed about my school work and school life. I want to be more active in school functions and strive to do better in my classes and on my work and I believe the cause for this is ACA 115. However being a college student in high school has it’s problems and dilemmas such as trouble managing time for both classes and figuring out how much time to set aside for homework for both classes. But the pros out way the cons in most situations.
I believe that challenging myself to take AP classes that influence my decision in choosing a career path will be beneficial and aide me in achieving my lifetime goal of helping others. It helps me because I’m preparing myself for college by taking rigorous college level courses. Because they are difficult classes, my GPA will be weighted and thus increases my chances of being accepted into schools that can help me achieve my
The assessment helped me to deeply think about my career and the things that I would want in the organization that I hope to work for. I believe it to be an accurate assessment and helps an individual put what is important to them into perspective. It is often helpful in career counseling to have an indication of where the client is in terms of career decision or indecision (Whiston. 2017). This tool
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. Through personal experience, I’ve realized that personal comfort is nothing more than a variety of fears that limit me from challenging myself.
One of the most influential aspects that I learned about myself during this course was the Gallup Strength Test. On this test, I was evaluated on by answering personality questions and the results pinpointed five of my superior strengths. The test was online and required that participants choose between two option of what they though was more true about themselves. As I took the test, I found that some of the questions were difficult to choose between. At the end of the test, I discovered that my number one strength was strategy. I highly identified with this result because I enjoy planning ahead and being prepared. It also was apparent during our class retreat when we were constructing the labyrinth. As my peers and I worked together, I was making sure that the path was accurate and that our masterpiece was functional. In other aspects of my life, I find myself looking to achieve the end result by creating a plan of how to get there. For example, I was recently in a group project that was getting off to a slow start. As we were getting closer to the deadline, I contacted my group members to split up the work evenly so that we did not have to meet in person, but would still be able to complete the assignment. By taking on this role, I was able to feel comfo...
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
Nothing could be worst than your dad bringing up "THE CONVERSATION." Starting at age 5 I loved playing soccer, running up and down the field, making moves and kicking balls to the back of the net was always the way to go. Soccer meant the world to me and especially playing with my best friends since the day I started. My days would go something like this, go to school, get home,do homework then get ready and go to a beautiful fun day at soccer! After soccer I would go home sit on the couch and eat.I was a lazy one. That's why I hoped my dad would never ever bring up this conversation.... But he did anyways.
I scrambled away as fast as I could with my wounded legs, I fell of the side of the counter, and proceeded to walk/fall accross the floor. I fell and felt his hands come in contact with my arms and I started shoving his hands away from me, he's the reason I'm in this situation. I'm breathing hard and can feel the blood seeping out of my bandages, and I breathe harder. There's no air going into my needy lungs, no matter how much I breathe. I'm being burried alive by my own anxiety and fear of this single man standing in front of me.
Leaving the bodies for last we walked down the drive to take a look. Several rifles and shotguns were leaned carefully again the big oak. Two handguns and some knives were on the grass in front of them. Four people dangled from a branch of the tree close enough to each other to bump like a weird wind chime. A young couple and the other twice their age at a guess from the gray hair and styles of dress. They were probably parents and a married son or daughter with their spouse. Other than being hung there were no injuries apparent on any of the four. From the condition of the bodies they had been dead about a day.
I moved to Fresno, California and worked as caregiver sometime in the summer 2012. I lived there for about 7 months then I moved to New York in December 2012. My friend Alvin Almonte invited me to work in New York because he said job opportunities were much better here and that New York is much more accessible. I lost my immigration status in November 2011, while I was in Arizona. In my contract, I was assured that after three years (supposedly 2009-2012), the employer would apply for my Green Card. This was clearly not the case. I was working as a temporary hotel worker with an uncertain status. I started to work as buzzer in a restaurant in New York. Currently, I am working as caregiver for the elderly.
I couldn’t believe the site was real. The police came and simply reported it as an allergic reaction not even seeing it as potential murder, this guy must be good if the police don’t even think twice about it.
After completing the assessment exercise I have been able to carefully my personality. The exercise consisted of an evaluation of four areas: Locus of Control, Personality Type, Stress Reactions, and Learning Styles.
One sunny afternoon my friends and I decided to go on a road trip to a small resort. We packed everything up and decided on the way across the Wisconsin Bridge that we all wanted to go to the Wisconsin Dells. This car ride was about to be long because not everyone in the car gets along.
The first step of career management process is self-assessment. Self-assessment is refers to the employees using some information that help them to decide which career they really interested to pursue, ability, skills, and behavioural tendencies. According to Allen (2005), self-assessment is a process to identify skills, abilities, knowledge of the employees. During this step, the employees need to do some tests such as the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory and the Self-Directed Search. The tests help the employees to identify the value of work that they place on their work and also leisure activities. Self-assessment is also involved with some exercises which able the employees to identify their career future plan, where are they for now and also how their career match with the current situation and resource that available (Noe, 2010). After done with the exercises, career counsellors usually used to assist the employee in their self-assessment process and also provide explanation about their result of psychology tests. Then the employees assess their current skills and abilities and also capabilities they are lacking with some informa...
