According to the SAPA Project Personality Test, my highest or greatest strength is Integrity. Integrity is being able to be honest and having a strong moral value on life. I think that being or having the ability to be honest could go a long way. If you tell one lie, a person will never be able to trust you again. If they eventually do it will take a long time to believe in anything you say. Myself personally, I would rather for someone to be completely honest with me instead of lying to me. Once you have lied to me it takes awhile for me to trust in you again because now I do know when you are lying or being honest. In the workplace it is very important to be honest with your coworkers. Being dishonest with someone that works with you can …show more content…
cause a great deal of trouble and conflict between one or more people. In my life I would use this strength to help out other coworkers, friends, and family member when they are in a situation and need assistance. When being honest with someone, you also have to take into account how you say something. The tone and how you deliver the information can also can a conflict. Another way that I can be honest or integrity is I promise someone something I will do my best to keep that promise. I would also us integrity in the workplace not using the materials for personal reasons and use my time efficiently. In my opinion, I believe there is several ways that an organization can better develop and utilize personality strengths of their employees. The preparation and improvement elements of real companies have long been authorized to plan and assemble interventions to determine territories of advancement distinguished in the association as a method for guaranteeing more noteworthy levels of execution and development. One ways for organizations to help better develop and utilize personality strengths of employees by expanding on employees qualities rather than attempting to enhance their shortcomings. The manager or owner of the company can name different quality for different employees so everyone can hear, and ask how those qualities may be connected to their goal in the company. By helping your group see one another's qualities and how these abilities can unite the group to make a capable picture and enhance cooperation skills. The organization can assign group activities taking into account representatives' qualities and strengths. They can also help workers set objectives in view of their center skills and qualities and help representatives adjust their qualities to the desires and obligations of their parts. Another thing that an organization could do to better their employees is by offering different training opportunities and incentives. Instead of the organization waiting for some of the employees to come to them, they could go to their employees and tell them they have seen their strengths in a particular area. Then ask to see if the employee would go to a training course to build on their particular strengths. Something can boast them into going is by telling them the trip or training would be paid by the organization. I feels that some potential benefit for a “strength based” organization would having a strong steady growing organization.
If every employee at the organization was doing a job or task that he/she is strong in their would not be any weakness showing in the organization. Everyone is at the peak performance trying to best the top person in the organization. I believe that the managers as well as everyone else would enjoy the benefits of reducing the turnover, greater productivity and profitability. Once everyone is on the same page and working together, sharing, and using each other strengths to better the organization, the more the employees would not mind working and possible getting more involved with the organization. If this was to happen the company’s attendance would always be up and so places would not be short staffed. When an employee is happy with the management and the stress levels are low at work it makes the work environment more safer and workable. If I was in a work environment where the stress levels are high, poor management, and their is a great deal of employee turnover, I would not be there or stay too long. If by chance I was still there, I would not be happy and hate to go to work. If an organization was a “strength based” management, they would receive the best customer services review and the company would be growing and using their abilities to the fullest. Also if the company was a “strength based” organization then everyone would be successful and exceeding in their work. I believe that if one organization starts being strength based there would be more on
board.
By my courageous nature, I can give hope to my followers in any case and give them aspirations in wait for a better future. Tough times can also be faced with much resilience (Rath & Conchie, 2008). I can direct people towards achieving goals for the organization as well as personal goals. By providing stability team cohesion is improved towards the generation of better results. By this, I can influence the employees towards having a strategic mindset and focusing on the work as well as creating a peaceful work
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
One of my greatest skills is being able to be compassionate towards others. By placing myself into someone else’s shoes, I find myself being able to better understand where other people are coming from. I am an extremely caring person that will go to great lengths for anyone. I can easily overlook the differences in other people, and this is what helps me get along with almost anyone that I come across. In order to lead people in a positive direction you need to be able to relate to them on a more personal level. It is much easier when people feel comfortable around their leader. I always like to lend a helping hand or even a shoulder to cry on when it is needed. My strengths include integrity, optimism, faith, innovation, and adaptability. These strengths are important to have in leadership positions. Leaders should have a firm hold on their beliefs and morals in order to have a positive impact on people. Keeping my commitments is crucial to me, because I am a woman of my word. I think this is a good trait in leadership, because people need to be able to count on the person that they look up to. Optimism is also something I value. I belie...
Honesty and integrity are the two most important characteristics for leadership success in any work place. The foundation of any relationship is honesty. To be a good leader, one must be honest. My goal is to create a workplace that every people can trust me and I can trust them so that we work together for a common goal. I would like to be a trusted leader because I am sure this characteristic will bring Done Right and On Time result in my career.
My top strength is WOO, which stands for “winning others over.” People with this strength love meeting others and thrive in social situations. My favorite quote from the book to describe woo is, “… Once that connection has been made, you are quite happy to move on.” That one statement has accurately described my professional life thus far; I love meeting new people and easily bore when bound to a routine. It is difficult to perform to my best ability when I am bored, I have found that the best way for me to combat boredom is by keeping a flexible schedule and focusing on short-term projects. Adaptability plays right into my need for this “live in the moment” lifestyle. In the professional world, unforeseen circumstances may arise and we have to make changes accordingly.
As I stated earlier, loyalty is one of my top values, and I believe that if I am a loyal leader many people will trust me and develop their leadership attributes. Along with loyalty comes relationships. To me, the two go hand in hand. It is nearly impossible to have a healthy relationship when someone is not being loyal. I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me. I understand that things are not always going to go the way you intend. Having the ability to adjust my thought processes is just one way adaptability will make a difference in my life. I believe that my third strength, WOO, will help me to build relationships and expand my network no matter how old I am. Being able to relate and connect with others is something I strive to do in my daily life. My fourth strength, communication, goes hand in hand with WOO.
The two areas that best reflect my strong suits are respectful and inspiring. (Steadiness) Respect should not be taken lightly and people want others to show them that they are important. I am not the one to belittle, talk down to someone, embarrass the other person, or not acknowledge someone because they are not like me or do not hold a certain position. People respond in a negative manner and become very defensive when others treat them in any of the ways previously mention. I look at how I want others to consider when speaking and interacting with me. That is the way I have to try to handle myself when dealing with others. Taking calculated risks is what I do best because I cannot stand losing too much if the results do not outweigh the risks involved. I am also very critical on myself and can point out faults in a heartbeat. I have to analyze future actions before I act on anything because I do not want to go wrong or too far away from initial path. Repeating myself or actually running through multiple scenarios takes up a lot of time. Being overly critical on myself will eliminate some of that time that I cannot get back.
Businesses are all around; they compile the backbone of society’s configuration. Without the innovations and opportunities that are brought by these companies, lifestyle, as we know it, would be a shadow of how it is today. Due to the importance of all businesses to the human race, it is vital that they are nurtured. The majority of businesses are profit driven and in order to achieve this they must have a sound internal managerial structure. As a result, many theories and concepts have arisen throughout the years to aid the management side of an organisation. The by product of such theories and concepts are, fundamentally, to get the maximum output from employees whilst creating a sense of cohesion and serenity. This essay will be looking at such theories and their importance to companies drive for success.
My flexibility is certainly one of my greatest strengths. I can easily move between different working styles, depending on the scenario. I have no problem trying a new idea or concept out before deciding on a final direction. I am continually exploring different options. Being a “people-person” is one of my other strengths. My excellent interpersonal skills allow for me to bring ideas, thoughts and people together. I generate enthusiasm and excitement into tasks. I feel comfortable and confident talking to others about anything that I have knowledge of.
Honesty, personally one of the harder virtues to use every day. No one wants another person’s honest opinion, and being truthful is just as hard as hearing the truth and listening. As people grow older they are given so many chances to speak truth whether its telling a good friend they do not look good or putting away a criminal for a crime they witnessed. Honesty takes a lot of work, but being trustworthy is
The ability to take each and every one of my experiences and attributes and use then to keep moving forward. Over the years I have watch myself confidence rise as a result of trying new things such a new career venues, succeeding at some and failing at other but learning from all them. Learning the importance of what matters most, my self-respect and pride that my family has in me for doing what’s right and ethical verse what I think or believe that someone expects of me. One of the most profound statement that I ever heard was told to me by one of my directors. She told me that the most valuable lesson she ever learned was that “People change! The things is…its people that don’t allow people to change and to recognize the change one has to fully present.” It is through these things that I was drawn to the career choice of Human Relations, to have the ability to be a part of something bigger than myself in the corporate world but yet have the compassion and ability to help others discover their own abilities and passions, within the structure of the work place is a challenge that I am looking forward to and know that it because of my past educational and work experiences and my ongoing educational and work opportunities. That I will continue to grow and mature daily both professionally and
If the organization succeeds then the employees also succeeds. Employees must see the bigger picture and must feel that they are part of the organization and not just a one man show.
Secondly, there is the requirement of good leadership where all the employees are required to follow a good leader. Thirdly there is the requirement of collaborative environment in the organization where one employee helps other to achieve the success. Fourthly, a positive work environment is characterized by the good feedback and rewards from the upper level (King, and Lawley, 2012). There would be the requirement of growth potential for the employees in the organization. If the employees see a higher growth potential then they will be more stick in the organization. The organization which cares for the employees will always be given a top rank in the positive work environment. There would be requirement of higher scope of communication between the

One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
