Sadly, many will have to face this struggle in their lifetimes. Luckily, there are many ways to prevent obesity from becoming a problem it the ones you love. Gyms and other exercise opportunities are sprouting up all over the country, and provide many ways for others to exercise. The downfall of commercial gyms is that most of them don’t provide an outdoor space where members can exercise freely. We all know that outdoor exercise triumphs over indoor activity in many minds. One very enjoyable outdoor exercise is running. Running is capable of being conducted anywhere, it can make you feel better about yourself, and running has many health benefits. The last time I did not run for consecutive days, was during Middle School. Running has been a very powerful tool for me, and the joy it brings is something I carry. As a person who has an unhealthy amount of anxiety in my life, running has been an outlet for me. Whenever I feel anxious or stressed out, I run. There are two ways running brings me relief; the first is it is an immediate distraction from whatever is bothering me. In addition, running also gives me a “runner's high” after I run. While this may seem unimaginable, it is actually very real because the pleasure of finishing a workout has few parallels. After I run, for the rest of the day, my mood is elevated.
Christopher McCandless’ long, fascinating, but an ultimately fatal journey into the wilderness of Alaska is depicted in the biography, Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer. Late in the of summer of 1990, a very young Christopher McCandless left his ordinary world in Annandale, Virginia to pursue a solitary life in the untamed wilds of Alaska. Many will insinuate that Christopher McCandless’ actions were childish and idiotic, but a stronger argument would be that his unconventional thinking and desire to live life on his own terms allowed him to reach self-actualization.
The word run is often associated with how an object may run. “To keep operating or going, as a machine” (Dictionary). This definition often reminds society of how they run their busy lifestyles. Some people have to arise and keep running every day in order to support their family. This is just a part of everyday life. Workers seem to break down every once in a while, too, just like machines. If an employee becomes sick or injured, then he or she must rest until repaired. To be able to run is an important aspect to any person’s life. Nothing would ever be done if humans did not run. The population would just sit around like bums, not supporting families or taking care of themselves. Minds, like bodies, work like the inside of a clock. People have to think before they act. Motivation is a great example of how a running mind can inspire many to take charge and make goals in their own life. Motivation to keep a life running is substantial. This motivation helps people reach their lifestyle goals. These goals may be actually running a mile in a certain amount of time, getting a job, or simply losing those extra two pounds. People would not be able to do any of these things without the though
Running is an action or a movement, but actually it serves as more than just that. Running is what the human body was made to since the creation of the human species. Over many years of evolution the body has evolved and become adaptable to different types of running. Many who begin running at such a young age whether it is long distance or sprints, but have never stopped and realized, wait how is this affecting my body? Many believe that there is all good to running and that no harm can come from it. Others may argue that it comes with a series of lasting internal injuries that may not affect them at the moment but affect them in the long run. The physical characteristics associated with running can come with a list of positives, but have we forgot about the negatives ? Runners remain with lasting injuries that serve as injurious to the body . The benefits and downfalls in the physical aspects of running serve in areas such as the heart, bones, and joints.
Running can improve your mood, as well as physical health, “Running reduces stress by boosting levels of serotonin in your brain and creating a more positive mood. Self-esteem is improved and goals are achieved through running. Runners realize a greater sense of self-reliance and accomplishment… Cardiovascular health is greatly improved through running by increasing your heart rate and working the heart muscles on a regular basis” (RunAddicts). Running is similar to a drug, however without the withdrawal effects. Similar to MDMA (ecstasy), running releases serotonin. After running one feels tired but refreshed and energized due to the serotonin released, which is referred to as the “runner’s high”. This runner’s high, somewhat similar to a drug intoxication, causes a euphoria and creates a positive and energized mood, which temporarily regulates anxiety, improves sleep quality, and constructs a better self-image. As well as being mentally advantageous, running is also physically constructive. Like running and swimming, through working the heart muscles and increasing your heart rate running can also improve endurance and cardiovascular health by allowing the blood to pump more powerfully. Furthermore, running can drastically improve one’s

Overcoming adversity is imperative. In fact, you can 't have the happiness and success you want unless you have adversity in your life and overcome it. It is essential for progressing into who you want to be. It shows you what you are made of. It teaches you more about yourself, how to approach what you want, and how to maintain the success that you have. Without it, you wouldn 't know how far you could go or how capable you are because you wouldn 't have anything to push you or compare to.
Running has always been considered one of the best exercises in the world. Do you know why? Obviously, it helps you to lose weight and burn those calories, but it’s not just about that. I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Approximately 35.1% of adults are considered obese in the United States (University of Maryland). This strikingly large percentage of the population forcefully indicates that obesity is not an issue that one can turn a blind eye to. In fact experts at the University of Maryland Medical Center say, “…more than half of American adults are likely to be obese by 2030,” (University of Maryland). It is a shocking reality that Americans must recognize as a serious health concern before obesity consumes the entire population. A bright side to this sad and unfortunate disease is that it is “curable”. Obesity is measured by Body Mass Index (BMI), which determines the percentage of fat on ones body. To be classified as obese the percentage of fat must be 30 or higher (Women’s Health). However, no matter how high someone’s BMI climbs, healthy eating and exercise can progressively lower the BMI. Everyone needs to eat, and switching a diet around to less appetizing foods is a feat in itself, however the word exercise holds an intimidating challenge over most individual’s heads. The frivolous and over indulgent eating habits tied with the lack of any sort of exercise or activity, exhibited by most obese people, makes it even more difficult to entertain the idea of exercising again. Unfortunately for them, exercise can not be disregarded. There are numerous ways in which exercises are beneficial to the life, mind, and body; and it is these improvements that make it irrefutably evident that increased exercise can help reduce obesity and its negative side effects in the United States.

Many don’t realize that the road to success isn’t so much a road as it is a winding,
Exercise is not something that came across my mind as important or necessity in life. I remember in our school days, we have physical education (PE) lessons. During the lesson, we played games that involved physical exercise. And that’s the time I start to run. It was fun and I really enjoyed it very much.
