There are many natural things we do when we feel like we are coming out on top. Pumping the fist, yelling out something, or throwing our arms up in the air are all signs to ourselves that we are killing it. By pounding your chest, you are sending a signal to your subconsciousness that you are going to beat this, and that will help it find ways to do so.
Yes, whatever is happening may be bad, but if you are still breathing, then it hasn 't taken you out, and you can look it in the eye and pound your chest as a sign of strength that you were not taken out by it and you WILL overcome it. This may seem silly, but there is a lot of meaning in the action. It will help you remind yourself that you are big, bad, and should be considered a force to be reckoned with in this life. It will boost your confidence, increase your motivation, get you pumped to fight your adversity, and help you move on to all the other tips for overcoming adversity.
If you don 't like the idea of pounding your chest, then pick something else that represents strength to you. A movement, a song, a dance, a pump of the fist, or something that allows you to tell yourself that you are strong and able to move forward with that strength, and say 'bring it on! '

It’s what you need to persevere through in order to do something you’ve wanted to do for a long time. If you want to pass that test, you’ve gotta conquer your fears and fight through all the troubles that arrive in front of you. Become your own hero. Adversity is a situation that took place in the novel “The Outsiders”, by S.E. Hinton.

Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him” (G.K. Chesterton). A soldier is a soldier no matter what. If they fight behind a screen, on the front line, or from a controller as long as they’re protecting this country, the people in it, and the people fighting for it they are honorable. Some think that because one does their fighting from a remote control drone means that they have no understanding of war, and in some ways that is true, but they are still taking someone’s life when they choose to press that button just like the solders on the front line takes someone’s life when they pull the trigger. Both people are fighting the same fight: they love the country they are defending the people in it they just do it from different standpoints. Drones
When in a stressful situation, the human body goes through a process called the stress response that will allow the body to either fight or flee, as mentioned earlier (Stress, 2013). This stress response affects the heart, lungs and circulation. When in immediate danger, the heart rate and blood pressure increase instantaneously (Stress, 2013). Breathing automatically becomes more rapid, allowing the lungs to take in more oxygen. The spleen secretes additional red and white blood cells (Stress, 2013). This allows the blood to transport more oxygen throughout the body than normal. It has been proven that blood flow can increase 300 to 400%, readying the muscles, lungs, and brain for added demands in the stressful situation (Stress,
