Exercise is not something that came across my mind as important or necessity in life. I remember in our school days, we have physical education (PE) lessons. During the lesson, we played games that involved physical exercise. And that’s the time I start to run. It was fun and I really enjoyed it very much.
Later I also begin to train for our school annual cross-country events. At that time, running to me is consider boring and a painful task. Sometimes, I had to endure the pain and continue running to the finished line.
When I start to work at a young age, I realized exercise should be a part of our lifestyle routine. Looking at the options during that time, running seems to be the simplest and least expensive form of sport. So what happened in the end is that I decided to take

It does make me sweat a lot and I become more tired. I have also noticed that the hot weather affects my performance too.
Late evening used to be my favorite timing. But you will be running along with many runners. Most of them come after work. So that’s why, I have switch to jog in the early morning.
Based on my experience, the best weather is after a heavy rain. The air is cool and you don’t sweat so much. So whenever there is a heavy rain, I will take note and decided whether to go for a run later.
Needless to say, running has many benefits such as increase your productivity and loses weight. So if you are currently not doing it, I encourage you to start now. But before you put on those running shoes, make sure you check your health with your family doctor. This is important if you don’t exercise at all or having any medical conditions.
I hope the results will amaze you. You will feel more energetic, optimistic and healthy!

Soaked under sweat, I stood on the running machine, took a deep breath, and counted in my mind, one…two… three, GO! With renewed power and confidence, I started to run again with satisfaction. This moment happened every day in last summer at a gym and I lost 62pounds. Had persisted for five months, I am so proud of myself that I am able to achieve the goal of losing weight and established high self-discipline. In addition, I have gained great appreciation for the challenges. However, I also have grown up from this, on the other hand, frustrated experience. The last time I did not run for consecutive days, was during Middle School. Running has been a very powerful tool for me, and the joy it brings is something I carry. As a person who has an unhealthy amount of anxiety in my life, running has been an outlet for me. Whenever I feel anxious or stressed out, I run. There are two ways running brings me relief; the first is it is an immediate distraction from whatever is bothering me. In addition, running also gives me a “runner's high” after I run. While this may seem unimaginable, it is actually very real because the pleasure of finishing a workout has few parallels. After I run, for the rest of the day, my mood is elevated.

Physical education time is being cut in schools to give more time for students to focus on core courses such as Science, Math and Reading. Some districts have eliminated the course or do not even provide it. These courses, although are very important, should not take away from a student’s well-being. Physical education provides a foundation to a student’s future lifestyle and good health habits. Physical education should be treated like every other foundational course because it is a necessary part of a student’s lifestyle that will benefit from every day. Physical education provides: 1) a variation of motor skills aimed to enhance the physical, mental, social and emotional development, 2) an understanding to improve and maintain their physical well-being and 3) opportunities to advance developing social and cooperative skills while gaining a multi-cultural perspective.
