Description of Teamwork Experience: Easiest and Hardest Part of Working on a Team
I have learned that the relevance of teamwork cannot be overstated when it comes to the enhancement of the learning process. Teamwork enhances an individual’s ability to tackle issues addressed during discussions on his/her own through improved understanding of concepts. I was thrilled to have an exciting team comprised of women who were cooperative, professional, and focused. I related well with every team member and contribute towards the timely accomplishment of various tasks. Secondly, the sacrifice by each team member towards accomplishment of tasks was to be respected as no team member skipped a sitting.

With regards to conflict management, conflicts are inevitable in a team, since its composed of people from diverse backgrounds and with unique personalities. Our team members could not agree on an issue and there were some misunderstandings in which some chose to stay on the sidelines and not be involved. Therefore, l ought to sharpen my ability to resolve misunderstandings amongst team members. Secondly, I need to sharpen my communication skills and abilities like listening skills since I noted that I may not be as good a listener as I previously thought. A nurse needs to be an effective communicator to interact well with others in his/her workplace. The lack of effective communication would result in improper care that is characterized by several challenges. For instance, a nurse should be able to relate well with the patient to determine whether the treatment regimen is effective and refer the information to physicians for appropriate action. Secondly, nurses need to have superior organizational skills to carry out tasks in an organized, thoughtful, and planned manner. Skills that a nurse may need to ensure that individuals are treated fairly and the care that they need is specific to them include; a good listener, this makes sure that the patient applies trust in you as a nurse and trusts you to help them in their time of need. I believe that nursing should be a holistic approach, dealing with a patient’s body, mind, and soul. It is definitely a physically demanding job, but equally as important is the demand for emotional input. My past academic performance, as well as my personal qualities, provides the foundation for my career. After a review of my performance in the assigned group, I have learned a great deal about myself and behavior in the team-setting situation. This is not the first experience in a team setting. Previous team setting experiences were conducted in sporting and recreational environments rather than academics. While the setting and the environments were indeed different, there were many commonalities and correlations between the team settings I previously experienced and the current academic team-setting experience for this academic course project. One of the traits that I had exhibited pertained to being co-operative.

These goals are usually the drivers of an effective team when all of the participants are communicating to develop the goals they would all like to achieve. In business, this can be seen when groups set a sales goal and develop a plan of action to achieve this goal. Teamwork plays a crucial role in implementing and fulfilling a common goal in a team project. Each member plays a role and takes on different responsibilities combined together. In different stages of teamwork, conflicts and arguments may occur for as members have different standpoints which need to be harmonized within the team. The key to having an effective teamwork is to explore each member's unique abilities to motivate them.

Many times people forget that teamwork is a combination of the words TEAM and WORK. Which means it takes more than a combined group of people or a team, but it takes that and actions.
