This standard was put into practice through my activity plan and I could see the results in my video reflection. As the teacher, I created developmentally appropriate instruction that considered my students ' strengths and needs in order to enable each student to advance his or her learning. When creating the trees activity plan for my second grade students, I knew how to prepare my instructions based on the students ' specific strengths. Gluff, manages the learning environment by organizing and coordinating the resources of time and space to effectively engage learners. The teacher encourages self motivation and active engagement in learning each day as well. Mrs. Gluff has all of the students sit on the carpet at the beginning of the day to review the calendar and go over math problems. When the students come to the carpet, there is one student each week is in charge of calendar time and the money time. I create a learning experience for my students by selecting the appropriate curriculum goals and standards that are relevant to my students. I plan for instruction based on prior learner knowledge and student interest. For example, my students enjoy hands on activities that include coloring and decorating. Therefore, when I am thinking about what kind of activity I want to do with the second grade group, I always keep that in mind and incorporate creative activities. I try to add in the theme lesson plans an activity the child leads through being creative and with all sorts of materials available. I have observed when you allow a child to be hands on and leading the process they become more interested in the information, and excited to ask questions even to share with everyone what they made and how it fits with the lesson.
By incorporating the theories of Piaget and Maslow into lesson planning, I can choose realistic and meaningful instructional strategies and designate assignments at the appropriate challenge level. Initial Reflective Essay When I first thought of what I wanted to do with my life after college, the first thing I thought of was helping people. The next step in deciding what I wanted to do with my life was to examine how I could accomplish this goal. I started pondering and I was thinking about how much I love to take care of my body. After completing this assignment I realized that my time management is very “mediocre” according to my scores on my time management quiz. I was actually very surprised because I thought that my time management was acceptable not great but at least decent. I scored 41 points on my quiz, meaning that I do need to improve my time management. Though, I am actually very close to being good, the score for good is 45 points. Time management has always been an issue for me. I plan myself on a daily basis to try to accomplish everything I must do. Each year, as a new group of students enter my classroom, I will encourage them to be expressive of their imaginations in their favorite subjects, whether it will be art, literature, math or music. We all have rules and regulations to follow, and each student will know that there is no exception in the school or the classroom. Another goal in my classroom will be to keep the students excited about learning, not to treat school as a game or a social event, but to encourage a unique and fun atmosphere to learn.
These authentic learning activities are more engaging for the students and allow for a wide range of learning styles. It is imperative that all teachers attempt to integrate these experiences into their classroom as often as possible. These activities usually take more time and energy to plan and implement, but the benefit to the students make the extra work worthwhile.

I believe that my purpose as an educator is to guide students by providing them access to information, rather than being their primary source of information. Out of everything that we 've learned this quarter, goal setting was something that stood out to me. First, understanding that children may have a preferred learning style, she incorporates into her lesson plans the strategies which address visual learners, kinesthetic learners, and audio learners. Most children do not have just one learning style, therefore, they benefit through different learning centers. Learning centers include the science center, the math center, the art center, the library, the writing center, and the dramatic play center. Next, she uses teacher centered strategies to lead many of her lesson plans so that she can guide and coach the children through the activities. Since the children are very young, she feels modeling and coaching the children are the most productive techniques. After doing the developmental plan of my personal goal, I felt that this was an eye opener for me. I always have a plan just like a bucket list, but went I started writing out each topic of my personal goals and thought everything out it gave me a clear vision of what my goal really meant to me.
