After the completion and reflection of the Clearfit Career Feedback Report, the information that I most resonate with are my tendencies of getting things done, and work style. When working with others, I have always thought that I am they type of person who is persistent with goals and after carefully considering the feedback, I realized that the purpose behind my drive is not that I crave competition, but rather that I enjoy being successful and achieving personal results. This in turn has enabled me the ability to be a good planner and organizer. With this information, I have a better understanding of why I am such a stickler for planning, organization, and why I do not always take on leadership roles in order to outperform others. I had the opportunity to take the 16 Careers Cluster Inventory. I found the assessment very easy to take. As well, I found the inventory easy to score. My results of the assessment indicated my top three career areas were: 1. Educational and Training, 2. Health Sciences, and 3 had a three way tie between Human Services, Hospitality, and Law enforcement. I found the assessment to be dead on. Based upon the past personality inventories that I have taken I found the suggested areas very appropriate. One of the appealing aspects of the inventory was the easy of taking it! It seemed to gather accurate information without being overly pathological and test-driven.
The assessment helped me to deeply think about my career and the things that I would want in the organization that I hope to work for. I believe it to be an accurate assessment and helps an individual put what is important to them into perspective. As stated above, the LPI offered a unique opportunity to examine how I recognized myself as a supervisor and mentor. As a leader this survey glanced into how I saw myself; modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart. Equally important, it gave my supervisors, peers, and subordinates the same opportunity to give feedback from their perspective. A phrase often heard is, “You are your toughest critic”. Through the completion of the Myer-Briggs Personality and Jung Typology Test my personality traits were defined. With the defined personality that was developed, I am able to clearly depict my strengths and weaknesses. By detailing each individual aspect of my personality, I was able to further develop an understanding of my personality and how it is influenced and its influences on others. In order to be an effective employee, co-worker, and manager, I need to be able to asses my personality and how it influences my work environment. For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. For the motivation insights I had a high growth needs, which can be interrupted as being unsatisfied, which would be true as a Marine you want to work your way up the rank structure. Whereas my existence needs were super low, meaning I feel what I do as a chosen profession has satisfied my existence. I do have a desire to excel and improve upon past performance as my achievement score suggest. Am I procrastinator? According to the personality test I am not, I found this difficult to believe as I find myself postponing task sometime all too often until the last minute. However, I believe the test is accurate as sometimes I act prematurely and wish to take back my actions.
Upon receiving this project, I immediately began to worry about a survey that would seek to determine how strong of a leader I would be. I cowered at the fact of coming up with either false information or information I felt was less than perfect. I think that this fear alone, confirms my primary style. My primary style is that of Self-Actualization. Self-Actualized individuals seek to always become all that we can with the talents and knowledge we have. We tend to be creative and like to live in the moment. We bring almost a refreshing perspective to most situations and have a continuous intrinsic drive for self-development. I see this style manifested in myself on a daily basis by my strong desire to always meet new challenges. My motivation for success and coming up with new ideas is completely internal, and when the outlook seems grim to others, I am always the one that sees a positive outcome ahead, through the use of a plan. Although, I am currently a stay at home mom, I would imagine that as a manager that worked outside the home, I would share the same values as I do at home. I am a planner and a “lister”, because I feel that in order to tackle a task, the plan of attack must be clearly laid out and readily available to refer to. My backup thinking style is the Achievement style. I think this is very obvious because I seek to find jobs or take on challenges that will allow me to feel a sense of achievement. I have been known to quit jobs that paid a decent amount, but weren’t allowing me to achieve anything. On several jobs before, I’ve ended each day with a feeling of unimportance or frustration because I felt like the majority of my day had been spent working a job that wasn’t fulfilling or impacting the world. I think the fact that I decided to leave the corporate working world to be a stay at home mom, attests to the fact that I want to feel a sense of achievement in the personal raising of my child. I want to set up a standard for my child to ultimately be able to be a self-actualized person as he grows older.

The general personality traits, which are related to success both in and outside the workplace, are all inherent in my answers given in the Leadership Assessment Quiz. With statements such as, “it is easy for me to compliment others” and “team members listen to me when I speak,” it is apparent I possess these characteristics. Whereas my task- related personality traits associated with successful leadership, such as courage, still need to be developed. Not only do I know this in myself, but it is clearly pointed out throughout the test, with statements such as, “resolving conflict is an activity I enjoy” and “I would enjoy coaching other members of the team”.

Through the self-assessment instruments utilized in this program, I have gained wealth of knowledge about my strengths, and weaknesses and how they affect my personal and professional life. By using different exercises, I recognized new strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, I identified ways to develop my strengths and overcome my weaknesses. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory (LSI) identified some of my strengths as the ability to get things done, initiating, and taking risks (Kolb, 2007). In the Strongest Self Feedback Exercise, some of the feedback listed my strengths as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being self-confident, a fast learner, determined, hardworking, and an awesome listener (Drucker, 2005).
the personal leadership development plan is to capture the self-awareness of an individual. People in general have a difficult time trying to figure out who they are and how they view themselves plus how others may see them. This plan touched on my personal strengths, areas of improvement, and also made me more aware of those areas I can improve. The Personal Profile System, Team Dimensions Profile, Full Range Leadership Development (FRLD), Kirton’s Adaption-Innovation, Critical Thinking, and Four Domains of Wellness concepts were all used to provide a better understanding of how I function.
All college students should partake in career exploration project because it gives structure and direction. The result from an assessment identifies and prioritizes which careers will best suit an individual person or student. It does not necessarily mean they have to pick that particular job or career; it gives them more chooses to choose from. Career exploration is a life long journey that is emotionally, physically and mentally stress full. I say lifelong because as time goes on so does an individual’s views, abilities and skills. Career exploration is very helpful to a career, because it improves a person's ability to become informed of their interests, skills, values, abilities, aptitudes, weaknesses and strengths It helps in the guidance of career matters across the nation, job influence, growth, work hours opportunities to name a few. According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful. Personality traits such as honest, dutiful, practical and responsible are my strengths; personality traits such as stubborn, insensitive and poor communication skill are my weaknesses. Related to the knowledge I have learned in the course I believe both strengths and weakness will have influence to my future career development. In this reflection paper, I will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses that may place the most influence on my way of success.
In conclusion, my assessment re-assure the characteristics I knew I already had. However, it was an opportunity to foretell what I need to brush up on. Even though I do not wish to be an entrepreneur, entrepreneur’s carry a tremendous amount of characteristics that bring success. Mastering these skills will definitely be a benefit in an exceedingly amount of challenges/opportunities I will face in my career
