This is Olivia Murphy’s (my perfect model) suggestion for training:
“Passing is the most important skill used in netball. So get out there
and practice passing the ball with a friend in your garden or out on
court. And don't worry if you can't find anyone to help because you
can do lots of work on your own. Get a ball and find yourself a wall.
Next, make lots of targets on the wall - either draw on a point with
chalk or stick on some cardboard circles. Your targets should be
different heights so you can perfect the chest, bounce, shoulder and
overhead passes. Don't forget to vary how close you stand to the wall
too. Get moving! Netball is normally played at a fast pace so it's
important you stay fit and healthy. Whatever position you play in,
you'll be expected to move around a lot. So you need to work on
sprinting, jogging, running backwards and sidestepping. The variety of
styles means you can get moving anywhere. Try jogging to school,
sprinting round your garden - just don't try running backwards down
stairs! Once you've got your feet round these moves, it's also a good
idea to practice the patterns of play on the court. Your schoolteacher
or club coach will be able to tell you, which tactical patterns your
team, uses most. But remember you can learn how to use the space on
court effectively by good footwork, passing and movement. If you
follow these steps you'll be well on your way to becoming the next big
thing in netball! But the best advice I can give you is to get out
there and ENJOY playing. Good luck!”
In netball you need the four components of fitness, speed, strength, stamina
Due to the increase of popularity of the interscholastic athletic activities on the past few years, several researches process, recommendation, and manuals have been developed by diverse organizations such as the American college of sports medicine, and the national athletic trainer association. The sport I once loved, was not fun anymore. I hated practice because I felt targeted and was always worrying about being embarrassed by my coach. In games or practice I worried about what she would say or do if I made a mistake. When I thought I did something right she
Spring is a great time to get started in Lacrosse. It is a sport that is rapidly growing through the U.S., mainly in the east, but catching on everywhere. It is much different than anything you have seen with a combination of hockey, football, and soccer. You’ve got to try this one-of -a-kind sport, but first you must know the basics, checking, history and the continuous rules and penalties.
I am very proud of all my achievements listed, but I am most proud of my achievements earned through my cheerleading career. I instantly fell in love with the sport of Allstar Cheerleading in the seventh grade after growing up as a competitive gymnast. Although before high school, I believe that it is worthwhile to mention the teams I was a part of in 2013. One of my teams won several province-wide and national competitions, including the CheerExpo National Championship, where we earned the second highest score of the entire competition with approximately 115 teams competing. In the same year, we also traveled to Ocean City, Maryland, where I competed at the Reach the Beach International Championship as a crossover on both high level teams.
Everyone wants to get better at something, but some want it more than others. In “How to Transform an Everyday, Ordinary Hoop Court into a Place of Higher Learning and You at the Podium”, the narrator wants to get better at basketball, so he wakes up everyday at 4:30 to go with his dad to his work. Everyday, the narrator would wait 3 hours in his dad’s car until the gym opened, only to sit on the bench and watch the other men play basketball. Finally, one of the best players, Dante, tells the narrator he can play but he’ll get “smoked”. However, the narrator proved him wrong. The narrator learns that if you persevere, work hard, and have confidence, your dreams may come true. In How to Transform an Everyday, Ordinary Hoop Court into a Place

Competitive Cheer is rapidly growing in popularity throughout the United States. Cheerleading isn’t always considered a sport, but Competitive Cheer should be. Just like athletes in any other sport, members of Competitive Cheer squads clock many hours of intense training and often endure serious injuries. As a society, we often think of cheerleaders as nothing more than pretty girls on the sidelines, but the rise of Competitive Cheer demands that we reclassify cheerleading as a sport.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide an appropriate fitness assessment for a rugby union player. An effective fitness assessment should provide essential information regarding players’ match fitness and reveal what fitness programs need prescribing. In order for a test to be effective it must reflect the specific demands of the sport. Each test was chosen due to its specificity in relation to the demands of rugby union competition. An understanding of the client will be made clear through a PAR-Q which will provide the relative information for both personal and medical.

There are many choices that I could have picked to be when I get older, but I picked one good and amazing job that fits me perfectly. With this job I have a lot of experience in it and enjoy spending my time with many of people that enjoy doing the same thing as I do! This amazing job is going to, being a field hockey coach! When you do different clinics with different coaches it's fun because you can learn new and different things and you can learn a many different ways.I would like to have this job because you get to spend time with little kids and have fun. Also I can still spend time with what I enjoy
What makes champions in sport? At the end of the day, it is the moment when one stands at the top of the podium, holding up their well-deserved medals and trophies that all elite athletes strive for. Thus, experts have studied this question extensively to see which programs, or by what means, are elite athletes developed to achieve this goal. One of the many aspects to athlete development is the controversial topic of deliberate practice versus deliberate play. Deliberate practice can be defined as “any training activity (a) undertaken with the specific purpose of increasing performance, (b) requiring cognitive and/or physical effort, and (c) relevant to promoting positive skill development” (Cote et al., 2007, p. 185) On the other hand, deliberate play is defined as “a form of sporting activity that involves early developmental physical activities that are intrinsically motivating, provide immediate gratification, and are specifically designed to maximize enjoyment” (Cote et al., 2007, p. 185-186). The phrase “deliberate practice versus deliberate play” is a common misnomer, since the terms are portrayed as the only two options; however, this is a false dichotomy. Empirical evidence supports the fact that both aspects are essential for the development of athletes; therefore the phrase should be correctly cited as “deliberate practice and deliberate play”. This commentary will focus on discussing the importance of both deliberate practice and deliberate play for elite athlete development as well as pose some questions on talent identification and early specialization in sport.
There are many careers that I could have choosen for when I get older, but I picked a good and amazing job that fits me perfectly. With this career, I have already started to gain experience and have enjoyed spending time with many people that enjoy doing the same thing as I do! This amazing career is coaching field hockey. I have played this sport since I was in fourth grade and am going to continue to play. I have attended many clinics with many different coaches, which is a good thing. By doing this I have learned many new and different skills. I am interested in this career because I will get to spend time with kids and have fun. Also, I will be spending time doing something I enjoy and be happy that I am teaching kids. This is why I think that being a field hockey coach would be a perfect job for me.
My love for tennis blossomed at the young age of eleven. During middle school my peers knew me as the boy who was remarkably talented at tennis and I savored that title. Butterflies floated throughout my youthful body whenever someone complimented me. As the years passed, my dad nurtured me into a top player. Before I knew it high school arrived and it was time to compete at a higher level. My excitement was out of this world, but I knew my dad could no longer push me forward and my future was up to me. However, the ego I developed over the years blocked what lie in front of me. I wasn’t looking at the bigger picture; the hard work demanded of me, teamwork, and the motivation to reach an ultimate goal. Throughout my four years of participating
I have chosen to write about handball and how difficult it is to decide which club you want to play for. The reason for why I chose this topic is that I think it captures many handball players interest, including mine. Reading about a topic like this, players who are not satisfied or just want to change club can collect knowledge about what is important to consider when deciding a new club. I have played handball for six years, and in those years I have played for three different clubs; Lier IL, Sylling IL and Reistad IL. I am currently playing for Lier IL. In this text, I am going to present to you the factors that played a role when I decided which club I wanted to play for; coaches, team players, playing time in matches and training hours.
