Dear, Principal
We all know that some kids have difficulty doing homework, either because they don’t know it or they just don’t want to do it. Some of the kids at this school they do the homework, but when they do it they stay up all night. So when they go to school the next day they don’t want to do anything, or they sleep during class. When they sleep during class the teachers get mad at them. When the teachers yell at their students because they are not paying attention in class. Students should be learning in school, and giving your mind a break. When we get home from school all we want to do is either eat or go on Netflix and YouTube.
When teen/kids get home from schoo, we make dinner and then we spend time with family. Then usually

But when they get homework, they get mad, or sad because it ruined their plans with family or friends. People say it’s for extra practice which is true, but why can’t you practice at school. Or we would learn things too fast. That is also true, but we could review things the next day.
When kids/teens get off of school they should be able to relax. Sometimes kids/teens have to deal with stress, but if the body carries too much stress it could hurt the body. So they’re brains can have a break and learn more the next day. If their kids/teen relax more it would give the brain more time to catch up with what you learned that day.
When kids get more sleep we don't have that any problem at school, because we are not sleeping in class or because when we have more energy we can learn more. We should be more independent at home or school but a different way. And when we are at school we should be learning things we need to know not thing we need to practice. Because it should be are chose to do extra practice or not. Then also when kids get home family and friend should be able to bond with their kids or friends. Or should be able to just relax and have a little fun before the next day. Homework should be eliminated from
Also, students will be up later finishing homework and socializing on their phones with friends. Although schools will now have been adjusted to fit with students sleep cycles, that does not mean that the students will actually get more sleep. Also, people do not think of the consequences such as conflicts with transportation.
Based on the article on The National Sleep Foundation, when it's time for school the average teen body still thinks it's the middle of the night.
The schools that start classes before 8:00AM, the students are not getting enough sleep at night. In the passage Up For Debate: Should School Start Later It states “Many adolescents suffer from chronic sleep deprivation.” We need the schools to fix this by allowing students to get more sleep by changing the time school starts, to a more reasonable time. Therefore letting the students get the sleep they need to work exceptionally at school. Starting the school day later will also help with the amount of money the school pays for. Starting later would be most beneficial for schools around the world.
First of all, students do not get enough sleep because they stay up too late finishing their homework. For example kids are supposed to get 8-10 hours of sleep every night. Out of all the
Students usually spend at least six hours at school. This does not include how much time it takes to complete their homework of their extracurricular activities. Should students not get a break from all the work? Adolescents are supposed to spend their time with their friends and family but instead, they spend it doing work. It is erroneous that students are not able to have an enjoyable time because of the work given by teachers. Soon we will grow up and our teenage years will be gone. It is inequitable that an abundant amount of students spend their time being stressed about whether their homework is complete or not. This is our time to live how we want before we turn eighteen and have to face the real problems in life. The majority of the time, the worksheets that teachers give are problems that will not be on the test. Many teachers pile on homework but they do not consider our work from other classes. By the time the students get to sixth period, they will have homework that will take about four hours to complete. In total, students will spend ten hours doing work for school, not including those who are playing sports. Homework is a struggle especially when they have something planned for that afternoon. Many parents give their children chores to do after school but homework tends to get in the way. Teachers should know that we have duties complete at home, and homework will take away from
Kids need at least 9 hours of sleep per night and they’re not getting that. Studies show that kids get only about 7½-8½ hours of sleep per night. An article called Sleep In Adolescents states that middle schoolers and young adolescents don’t get enough sleep because puberty changes changes their sleeping schedules, they have to get up too early for school, and homework and after-school activities keep them up later. Clearly school needs to start later because kids are not getting enough sleep.
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is a waste and kids and teens should choose whether they want to do their homework for extra credit and practice or not.
According to research, teenagers have a hard time waking up early and going to bed early. Some people feel that school should start later in the day and end later in the day to accommodate students' sleep schedules. Then, there are others who feel school hours should remain the same so there is more time to do other things. I feel that this issue mainly comes down to how sleep affects students, the disadvantages of school starting late, and the advantages of school starting late. Although, sleep may not seem all that important, it actually is a crucial element in your well-being. Your body needs sleep for your brain to function properly. In my opinion, school starts way too early in the morning. I feel that school hours should be changed to
They should be able to have enough time in the afternoon to distract themselves with other healthy activities which ensure the development of new skills and is also relaxing. Many students’ everyday activities may also be affected. Students who like to read or do their homework in the library or just spend time in any other public place will be affected since they will have less time in them because of later release times. According to Rachel Pancare, who holds a Master of Science in childhood education, "An earlier release offers many children a chance to relax or take a break before beginning their homework assignments." With the new schedule, students will be too centralized on school which can lead to stress. It is important to combat or relieve stress since it can lead to a huge variety of other problems or disorders like unhealthy eating habits, sleep deprivation, and depression, which end up affecting academics. However, these health concerns are just as likely to be present if the school schedule starts early in the
Kids need up to 10 hours of sleep every night. Unfortunately, instead of getting that sleep, many kids are staying up late doing homework. There is not enough time in Advisory or class to get everything done. Kids may also have activities or things with family. If students go to bed late, and get up early, some are tired; they may skip school or sleep in class and miss out on the things that happened in class.
Research has shown that teenagers experience a change in their internal sleep clocks so that waking up early and going to sleep early are difficult. I believe that school should start later and end later. However, most students want to get out earlier so they can spend more time with their families. Having school later would result in teenagers getting up better, being more energized and alert.
One reason why homework is bad for kids, is because it has negative impacts on the students. For example, According to “Special Topic / The Case For and Against Homework,” by Robert J. Marzano, and Debra J. Pickering, some students are not able
Since schools are becoming longer, sleep is more crucial for kids. If kids don’t get enough sleep, they going to be tired all day and won’t want to learn anything. According to Mary Carskadon article,” Let Kids Sleep” it states that” sleeping affects the learning process in many ways.” What this really means is if young children or all children aren’t getting the sleep they need, they are not going to do well if schools are becoming longer.
I think kids have way too much homework a lot of them get in trouble for not finishing it that puts stress on these kids which makes them super stressed out so they have to stay up later and now they're sleep deprived so they don't get as much work done in school now they have to stay up later and i know what you're thinking if they had got it done at school this wouldn't be a problem but each class only gets 58 min tops which is not a lot of time and at lunch the kids have to eat some schools have advisory but that is still only 58 min tops which makes kids even more stressed out the students are not to blame the school board, teachers, and staff are i mean kids are killing themselves because of this stress
Kids need more time to be kids and be more around family instead or having to do homework all of the time. Most kids spend about 2-3 hours doing homework and not with family or friends according to, Is Too Much Homework Bad for Kids' Health? Students do tons of homework that it is causing most parents to say that they only get to see their children during dinner time or they might not even be able to go to dinner because they just want to be done with homework. As Kamala Nair said to prove that parents mostly see their child during dinner time or not at all is in t To add on, because these kids are spending much time on homework, it is causing them to go to bed late, when you go to bed late but wake up early in the morning you are probably going to be tired, and when you are tired, it is most likely going to be hard to concentrate which can lead to bad grades. In this case too much homework can actually cause bad grades and, not help your children witht the things you may not know.
