Why should teachers be inconvenienced? This is the question that came to mind when I was ask should school be lengthened so that students can get extra help with school work? As students, we are in school at least seven hours a day for five days a week, and that about 35 hours a week dedicated to educational studies. I feel that it is unnecessary. I have four reasons why I do not feel that extended school is necessary. These reasons are that students do not take education seriously, some students have obligations to their families, more cost to the schools budget, and teachers have a life outside of the classroom.
My first reason for saying no is that a lot of students do not take their education seriously while in the classroom. These students are busy worried about the world outside of the school. This type of student typically plays in …show more content…

Extended hours would cost more money to run the school. Staff would have to work longer assist the students. It was founded that extending school would cost between 1,200 and 1,300 a student. Master level teachers would make about 20,000 dollars more a year. By the time students board the bus, attend extended school, and ride the bus home they would have been at it for about 12 hours. To avoid students reporting of being hungry, a snack should be provided in which more money will be required.
My last reason is that teachers have a life outside of the classroom. Teachers devote so much of their time to their students already, why force them to spend more time at work. They spend hours coming up with assignment, projects, and test. Teachers already spend time from their families to plan special lessons and activities. Parents have a responsibility to educate their children as well. It should not be forced all onto the teacher. Teachers need time with their own families to create moments and memories and it is not fair that we take it from
