These reasons help my argument feel more interesting to hook the reader.
This will help promote my side of the argument so that my side will be the superior argument and will attract more readers. I think kids should have less homework.Three reasons are, that homework is stressful, kids are given more homework than required, and it puts pressure on students causing them to work to hard and and have anxiety and health issues.
Homework is way to stressful for kids who already have enough to do at school, so why give them work to do at home that just adds on to the headache Known as work? Teachers give out homework because they think it is helping kids education. What they don’t know is that the work they are giving out just overwhelms students who don’t know how to do that work. It also means that some students could possibly be getting bad grades for things that they don’t understand. This is very important to my claim because if we have less homework none of these things will happen to students who don’t understand the topic. What can take more experienced students 5-10 minutes can take others longer time periods to complete the work given. giving students less homework you should receive better quality homework. That paragraph should

have sparked some belief that this bold statement is true. Another reason is that some teachers give more than the required amount of homework. It is ruining students love of learning. If you give kids too much homework they will start to dislike school. They should not dislike it because they need it for there education. I can’t believe that “5 million students have lost interest in learning all together”! teachers can easily reduce the amount of math equations, science problems, reading time, and much more! That can help lower students negative publicity for school. Teachers in some places give high school level projects to elementary school kids! That has to be really hard for students who are just learning multiplication and division! The teachers need to stop thinking ahead of themselves and give students grade level activities. Some teachers say that they are getting them ready for oncoming years, but what they really need to focus on is what they need to learn know! That is why i think that kids should have less homework. Although i think my side of the argument is good, i have to give some credit to anybody who thinks the opposite.
The opposing claim is that students should have more homework because it helps them gain confidence that they have a bright future. “Students need to have more homework as if it were acting like a shield for their educational curriculum”. A good part of the argument is that it help the students get ready for anything that gets in there way so that they are ready to go to middle school! I do not think that they should have as much homework as given, although the counterclaim has a good point. Expecting kids to complete homework on time and do it correctly by the next morning could be too challenging for some
students. I think kids should have less homework. Homework is stressful, it puts too much pressure on people, and they get more than required. I hope this was a convincing argument!
More than 70 percent of students have said that they have stress caused by homework
Many people often say that students, teachers, and parents, think homework should be banned, but multiple people disagree. This heated topic has been debated for many years. Some parents and teachers think students have too much. However, some believe their students receive too little. Few schools already have banned homework, but the majority of schools don’t. Some people agree with having ten minutes multiplied by the grade level of the student. As experts continue adding additional facts about homework, it is clear that homework can help students in different ways.
There have been so many studies recently that talk about how homework has started to become more burdensome for more students. The United States has gone from teaching to shoving homework in kids’ faces to keep them on the idea that school is always there. Classes have been extended from 45 minutes each day to an hour and a half. This was supposed to allow students work time at the end of classes and get help when needed. Instead, teachers lecture from beginning to end. This gives no time for students to get the help they need when can’t come in any other time. The rationale has changed in America that doing more, always means doing better. This, however, can be the downfall to anything. There can’t be homework assigned just for busy work, that becomes a waste of time. The homework needs to be assigned as a thoughtful way to engage students, so they know what is being
There should not be homework for students. For starters, homework pushes families further apart from each other. Secondly, homework causes kids to actually do worse on schoolwork and tests. Lastly, homework causes kids to get stressed out and depressed because they have to go home and do homework instead of have there own free time. Those are a few reasons why students should not have homework.
Homework is for suckers. Homework causes stress for students as well as for parents. Homework is extremely demanding and many students are spending far too many hours after school to complete their homework assignments. Although, some students may be able to whiz right through their homework, other students crawl along struggling at a snail’s pace. Consequently, family time is put on the back burner due to the time constraints of homework. Additionally, any extracurricular activities are also put on hold. Homework is nothing more than a scapegoat for teachers so that they can pawn off their due responsibilities on parents and students. Homework should be banned for students Kindergarten through 8th grade because the negative effects do not out weight the benefits that come from homework.
I think that kids should have less homework. Lots of kids stress about homework and they need a break.
They also say that homework allows parents to see what their children are learning and that homework helps them get better grades. It is true that homework is a self-evaluation for students to make sure they understand what they are learning. However, that is not the case. According to Discovery News, “Studies show that 99% of teens said that homework causes stress.” How is something stressful beneficial? How can homework have a positive impact when it is only making student’s lives worse? Equally important, Discovery News also stated: “56% of students said that homework was their primary stresser more than tests or getting good grades.” As you could see from this, the majority of students feel homework is more stressful than things like big tests. Along with homework being stressful, Discovery News states “Students reported sleep deprivation because of homework.” Meaning that students lacked the requirement of the basic necessity of sleep, meaning at least eight hours. Just because of the extent of homework, students entre next day is halted because students are exhausted and incapable of functioning. But, if the amount of homework was reduced, I believe students would not be as stressed and it would be more practical and
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is a waste and kids and teens should choose whether they want to do their homework for extra credit and practice or not.
Children go to school for seven hours a day, when teachers make them do homework it causes them to get stressed. Furthermore if children understand what they learned at school why do they need to repeat it at home? If children are struggling on a certain subject, teachers should be able to help them directly, not with homework because giving them homework on something they don't know anything about is counterproductive. Instead private tutoring could be something schools provide for failing students and not homework.
...supporters say. Homework is also important because there are many types of assignments that cannot be easily completed during the school day, proponents contend. Writing an essay and conducting a science experiment, for example, are both extremely beneficial ways for students to gain a more total understanding of a certain subject, proponents say, but neither assignment is easily completed during classroom hours. Such assignments must be completed at home to be effective, supporters argue. (“Update: Homework”)
Many of the teachers give way too much homework, and do not realize that student have more homework other than theirs. They might have other classes such as Math, Science, or Social studies homework, and to top it off, they get more homework such as English. Because of this, the children do not have free time to themselves or for their interests and hobbies. To take this a step further, much of their homework is unnecessary work that has already been understood in class or does not need more practice. Many believe that homework can make a student brighter or help them get better grades in school. This is partially true, but too much can cause the productivity, performance, and comprehension of the student to lower drastically rather than raising
You may have always thought teachers give you homework to help you, but recent studies show that homework may not help kids at all, or even affect them negatively. However, while some people say that homework is bad for kids, some people say it is good, even though there is more evidence against it than for it. I think that homework is bad for kids, because it has negative impacts on the students, negative impacts on their learning, and because some students don’t have at home resources to do it.
The first reason there should be little homework is that it may be too hard. It may be too hard because say if you a lot of homework in math and you had no clue of what you were doing and had no time to ask questions. Then when you do homework you have no idea of what to do. So eventually you will get frustrated because you can't finish. In New York Times it says “first graders and kindergartners working, on average, for 25 to 30 minutes a night.
There is a war going on that many people do not know about. The homework supporters and the homework abolishers have been battling in the school system for many years. The focus of this battle is whether or not homework is needed. Although many feel that homework takes up too much time, research proves that homework improves life skills and increases learning outside of the classroom.
Should kids should have no or less homework? Homework can take up a lot of time and can affect what you want to do. its effects sports by not making it too practice on time or get home home late and have to do it when they get home and their health by not getting to bed in time and could get stressed out over work .
