Rough Draft - Unit 2 EA 2 I think that kids should have less homework. Lots of kids stress about homework and they need a break.
Kids are missing out on fun activities because they are busy doing homework. Sometimes students stay up way too late because they are doing homework. Then the student doesn’t get a lot of sleep which can lead them to being late the next morning for school. Also while a student is doing homework everyone else is out playing fun games. The kid then might get jelous which can lead the student to depression. The student can’t do stuff like play football with friends or watch a movie with a family member. Students don’t get to explore the world around them because of homework. Kids should be out playing sports or playing
Healthline.com has said that “Students in high achieving neighborhoods who spend too much time on homework have more health problems, stress, and alienation from society.” Being sick of school is one thing, but when school is making you sick because of the homework you have now is bad. Elementary kids having physical problems just from homework can eventually lead to other possible problems down the road. These problems include substance abuse, becoming a high school dropout, and possibly death by suicide. So why risk a student’s life for a few homework
There should not be homework for students. For starters, homework pushes families further apart from each other. Secondly, homework causes kids to actually do worse on schoolwork and tests. Lastly, homework causes kids to get stressed out and depressed because they have to go home and do homework instead of have there own free time. Those are a few reasons why students should not have homework.
Homework is for suckers. Homework causes stress for students as well as for parents. Homework is extremely demanding and many students are spending far too many hours after school to complete their homework assignments. Although, some students may be able to whiz right through their homework, other students crawl along struggling at a snail’s pace. Consequently, family time is put on the back burner due to the time constraints of homework. Additionally, any extracurricular activities are also put on hold. Homework is nothing more than a scapegoat for teachers so that they can pawn off their due responsibilities on parents and students. Homework should be banned for students Kindergarten through 8th grade because the negative effects do not out weight the benefits that come from homework.
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is a waste and kids and teens should choose whether they want to do their homework for extra credit and practice or not.
Children go to school for seven hours a day, when teachers make them do homework it causes them to get stressed. Furthermore if children understand what they learned at school why do they need to repeat it at home? If children are struggling on a certain subject, teachers should be able to help them directly, not with homework because giving them homework on something they don't know anything about is counterproductive. Instead private tutoring could be something schools provide for failing students and not homework.
I believe that we have too much homework to get outside and have fun. Also can lead to eating habits, being sick and stress. A lot of people ask is can kids get sick from too much homework; the answer is yes. Kids can get sick from homework for staying inside too long and not outside. Some kids have said more than two hours of homework can make them sick this was from the average kid.
Should kids should have no or less homework? Homework can take up a lot of time and can affect what you want to do. its effects sports by not making it too practice on time or get home home late and have to do it when they get home and their health by not getting to bed in time and could get stressed out over work .
If kids have too much homework they wouldn’t get free time to play outside until they finish their homework. Students who care about school wouldn’t do anything fun until they finish their homework which means less physical exercise. Too much homework and no time to play outside is very bad for your health. If you are not getting exercise which means your body will be out of shape. Without playing outside your body can get out of shape and obese because you are not exercising every day. When you have too much homework you would be cramped up in your room studying all day and having no exercise. Students shouldn’t be getting to much homework so they could play outside and be healthy and
Examples/Explanations/Evidence: Some kids have to do up to 5-6 hours a night. They can't play with there friends because they have to do homework. They get less of a chance to read for fun, make friends, play games, get exercise, get some rest, or just be a child.
This will help promote my side of the argument so that my side will be the superior argument and will attract more readers. I think kids should have less homework.Three reasons are, that homework is stressful, kids are given more homework than required, and it puts pressure on students causing them to work to hard and and have anxiety and health issues.
Students are bombarded with hours of homework every night and it interferes with their lives. They are tired of staying up late at night to finish their homework or a paper that is due the next day. They should not have this workload that they have every night because they also have to live their childhood. Life is too short to be staying up until 11:00 because of schoolwork. Homework is unhealthy for students and it is not academically beneficial for them.
In addition, students should be able to have some family time and as well as social time. First, I believe homework develops stress and sleep deprivation. When students get homework it places a lot of pressure on them to do what? There are some students who will have to complete their homework or else they get cruel punishments from their teachers. Research done by an Education Scholar, Denise Pope confirms that too much homework can develop stress by making the students work for hours after school.
Hazing has always been an activity when it comes to fraternities, sororities, or certain clubs and groups. Young men and women are being hospitalized and in worse cases resulting in death due to hazing. Hazing refers as to participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, abuses or endanger (Babson). Hazing is intended to make sure every member is up to standards. The acts are starting to cross the line, and the people being hazed are not saying anything because they want to be apart of the group.
A MetLife study found that in 2007, 45% of students in 3rd - 12th grade spend over an hour everyday on homework. I feel that doing this much work at home, is a problem. Teachers have so much to teach and go through, students rarely have time to complete the homework in class. If the students were allowed to immediately start homework, (if they didn't need help), then I think this problem will be resolved because it seems like teachers over elaborate on lessons. Teachers should give students a greater amount of work time in class, making sure students get homework done, getting the help they need, and getting better grades.
Homework helps to reinforce skills learned in school, however, kids need to spend quality time with their families and homework gets in the way.
