College and Career Essay
When I started with this research I knew where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. I have always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher and always wanted to go to Panola College for my basics and then transfer to Stephen F. Austin State University and join the education program. I did learn about many other colleges and many jobs knowing what I already wanted to do; therefore, I wasn't really open to exploring, due to the fact that I'm already set on what I want to do and where I'm going to go. I researched many jobs and I'm interested in them, but I would enjoy being a kindergarten teacher more than my other options.
For my career research I searched kindergarten teacher, cosmetologist, and nursing assistant. These are all jobs

that I am interested in, but I am already set on kindergarten teacher, because I have wanted this for years. Like since I was a young child, making my dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher means so much to me. The information I found when researching my career was the pay, what degree you must have, the degree for kindergarten teacher degree is a bachelors (www.bls.gov/ooh/). Next, I researched some colleges, I found the one I am going to go to, which one I want to transfer to, and also which one I dream of going to. Researching these colleges showed me the acceptance rate, location, body size, and the application requirements. The college I am going to is Panola College (panola.edu). They have a 100% acceptance rate, but that has nothing to do with me going there. I am going to attend Panola to get my basics, and afterwards I would like to transfer to the second college I searched, which is Stephen F. Austin State University (sfasu.edu). When I arrive there, I would like to join the education program. I have heard so many good things about this program, and I would like to try it out. I also hope my dream comes true. Also, I attended a field trip with my forensics class this year, and we went to UT Southwest in Dallas.
Cyonna Holmes has attended Stanford and took 4 years of science classes to get where she is now. "I personally enjoy working in the Biomedical Engineering area." (Holmes). She and her classmates have built a machine that can keep a donated heart alive for 14 hours, compared to 4-6 in the cooler. The machine created by her and her classmates is very close to being put on the market.
Some of my career goals after graduating from Panola College with my basics and graduating from SFA from the education program will be to get out there and look for a teaching job. Beginning my teaching career will be a huge step for the beginning of my new life. I just have this special love for children, and I am ready to show the parents and kids how big my heart is. I really would like to stay close to home, but I am open to moving around if it's not too far.
This research didn't really change my mind because I had already basically decided what I wanted to do, and it was pretty much already for sure. This dream of mine is hopefully about to come true. I have waited a long time to make this happen and I am so ready.

It all began when I started volunteering in Los Angeles, with my mother at Asian Pacific Health Care Clinic. Asian Pacific Health Care Clinic is a clinic for low-income families who were in need of vaccinations and other health care services. One day my mom received a phone call from the clinic and asked me to go volunteer with her. Since that day, I would have never guessed that it will impact my decision in pursuing my career as a nurse. I was assigned to help patients fill out vaccination forms, translate verbally, and assist the nurses who were in need of my help. I noticed the joy on each patient’s face once they were finished their vaccinations, and it made me happy to know I put a smile on people 's face after their vaccinations. Since that day, I have grown a passion for volunteering and helping others. Another factor that drew me to the nursing profession, was when I volunteered at a
I have realized I have a certain fondness for small children and that led to me wanted to be an Early Childhood teacher. I have done a lot of research on colleges near me and I have narrowed my choice down University of South Carolina. I have decided
that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but I was not sure
Since I graduated high school in 2009, I immediately went to El Camino Community College and earned my Associates Degree. Once entering California State University Dominguez Hills in 2013, I obtained a full time nanny position to an amazing family of two children, which allows me to focus on my schooling while still being able to work. From 2012 to 2016, I was volunteering in the Long Beach Unified School District as a VIP to get a feel for the classroom and to know what to expect when I become a teacher. In September 2016, I became a LBUSD Substitute Teacher and I have been enjoying it ever since because it has given me the opportunity to become a classroom teacher. Currently, I am in the last phase of the teaching credential program at Dominguez
Since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to have my own classroom and teach kids. Most kids avoid school in all ways, but that is where I want to be for the rest of my life. After high school I am planning on furthering my education at a university to become a teacher myself. I’m majoring in Early Childhood Education (grades K-4) and also Special Education.
I have yet to narrow down specifically what is I want to do in the film industry, but I have come to the conclusion that I want to do something producing related. I do not know everything that producing entails, which is one reason why I am applying to this program. To name a few jobs, I know there are unit production managers, line producers, executive producers, and producers, but I am still confused on who does what. I have researched it and found that different websites say different things, which makes it hard to find the distinctions between all of them. One general consensus, I have learned is that indie producers are all encompassing because they want to allocate money elsewhere by not hiring other crew members. I want to start off as an indie producer, but then move my way into Hollywood. As of now, I am an ambitious filmmaker pursuing a career in movie producing that will take the necessary actions to achieve my goals.
Choosing to do a research on a career can be a little easier to do when you have
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
When planning for my future, I first had to look at what profession I wanted to go into. I have had great teachers in my life that have inspired me and due to this I have decided I too would like to teach. I am interested in teaching History and Industrial Technology. To pursue this career, I will need to go to college and graduate with a teaching degree.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
I was never going to be a teacher. My parents would tell you otherwise. As a child, I would spend my time playing school. I would write on my chalk board, create worksheets and homework assignments and take attendance. I would make my bedroom a replica of my safe haven. I guess I was destined to find my way into a classroom. I had also always loved to write, but I wanted to find a way to make money easily in the field so I thought journalism was the way to go. After the first semester of hardcore journalism classes, I concluded that the fast pace stressed me out too much. I worked with a career counselor to narrow down alternate fields of interest and all signs pointed to education. I took a generic introduction to education course and knew immediately that I had really come home in all senses of the
I have chosen to research about my future. I know that I want to major somewhere in Special education, but I am not sure where. I am going to research becoming a special education teacher and becoming a speech pathologist. Both are right down my path, but I am unsure of which suits me better. I am senior; therefore, this research is critical to the next step of my life. As of right now, I know a little about becoming a teacher. I have taken a class, Future Educators of Arizona, attended some conferences, and shadowed a teacher. I know that teachers get incredible joy in seeing the difference they make as students gain new insights, become more interested in a subject and learn about themselves. Becoming a speech pathologist will take more years of schooling and more classes in the science field. I am excited to learn more about each of these possible careers. I know for sure that the right career for me is in this field of becoming either a teacher or a speech pathologist.
I am so excited about one day teaching our children. My goal is to be a positive influence on a child and I cannot imagine anything more important to do with my life than helping children. A quote from Herbert Kohl sums up my feelings of becoming an educator: “I believe the impulse to teach is fundamentally altruistic and represents a desire to share what you value and to empower others. I am not talking about the job of teaching so much as the calling to teach. Most teachers I know have felt that calling at some time in their lives.” My dream is to someday soon fulfill my calling.
These are all words that explain who I am, and what I have become the past
