The way Belle Vernon set up their middle school program is the only grades in there were 7th and 8th. I had only one year of middle school at Belle Vernon and one year here at Yough. The biggest memory of mine was the field day we had last year and how much fun it was. We spent all day outside until our skin was peeling like a banana. We had tournaments in many different sports, we met kids from Marion, and we didn't have class all day. There were a total of three sports. We played football, soccer, and kickball. They split up teams by homerooms. I was in Mr. Mills’s homeroom. If you were on a sports team you were there because Mr.Mills was the athletic director for Belle Vernon. My team came in first in all three games. Many
High schools sports have been around for many years. High schools offer many different sports such as, football, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and soccer. Sports are a great way students get involved in school. High school teams have many different levels. The levels are varsity, junior varsity, and freshman. High school sports encourage competition and school spirt. Although joining a sport takes great effort, time commitment, and personal sacrifices, valuable lessons can be learned.
I was on the AMS Battle of The Books team, which won the county competition and continued to Regionals. Since sixth grade, I have been included in the Honor Society and have maintained a high honor roll for three years. Currently, I am the vice president of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). Athletic wise, I was on the volleyball team in both seventh and eighth grade. Education is not all about fun and games, there is hard work and strong commitment involved.
I’ve always been the type of person that truly enjoys athletics and have participated in nearly all sports offered to me. I started playing sports in elementary with club softball and basketball. As I entered my middle and high school years I was able to add the school sanctioned sports to my list of activities. This afforded me the opportunity of competing in volleyball, basketball, golf, track and softball. The camaraderie and life lessons of sports seemed invaluable to me.
I spent grades 4-8 in Wellsburg. Middle school was a very good experience, but I was ready for high school. I loved middle school because we got recess after lunch every day. In my opinion the lunches were better there too. Instead of having advisors, we had B.E.S.T. groups that changed yearly. A few of the things I disliked about middle school was that we couldn’t chew gum or have our phone out throughout the day. The teachers were more
In 4th grade we were allowed 3 recesses a day. We played a variety of games including football, basketball, and baseball. We liked playing football the most and we played it pretty much everyday. At the end of the day, on our last recess, we were all worn out from the long day but we still started up a game of football. When the bell rang we went out on the field and started making team captains and picking teams. We would designate a quarterback on each team then everyone else would be wide receivers.Just imagine a bunch of 10 year olds throwing footballs as far as we could while the rest of us tried to run under it and catch it. Once or twice in a game we would throw a running back in the formation and run a toss, but not very often.
I went to Rosemary Kennedy for preschool in Riverside, from what I remember I loved every second of it. I made friends that I still have and learned skills that I still use to this age. When I got to Loma Vista middle school, I was only in sixth grade. The city started a new rule where six graders
The Sports Education model curriculum is designed for grades that range from upper elementary to high school students. This curriculum focuses on team sports for the length of full seasons rather than different activity units every week. Although the teacher will explain the sport being played, overall, it is a student-lead and student-centered curriculum that works on objectives such as developing student’s cognitive, locomotor, affective , and teamwork skills. The model was originally created by Daryl Siedentop in 1986 and since its creation, it’s been implemented as a way of teaching across the nation.
They offered basketball, tennis, track, softball and volleyball. She recalled that these teams were fairly competitive, even within the entire state.
Football - I participated on my high school's football team. I played my sophomore and junior year and was positioned on defensive line. With my smaller Stature, football

Born in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona on August 15 1998, came out Reese Carpenter with my original married parents Shawn and Stacey. Beginning at the age of 2, I moved from Arizona to Michigan where my mom met my step dad Jeff on an online dating website.
I have played outfield, infield, and was a designated hitter. Tennis is different than any of the other sports I have played because it is just you against another person in singles. I also played doubles where I played with a partner. Other School Activities (ie: music, clubs, etc. Please include the years you were involved in each):
The type of student I am has greatly evolved from elementary school. I have always been intelligent but my work in elementary school did not reflect my intelligence level. My work was sloppy, disorganized and borderline illegible. I got stressed out and frustrated while working on school work in elementary school. I can recall how my homework got done in elementary school. I’d start with a grin ear to ear, open my folder and pull out the assignment. Shortly after I began working,my smile would turn into a frown, and I would began to cry. and scream “I can’t do this!”.
It's only been two years here, and I have grown to love this school. It's funny because when my dad told me about Tates Creek High School (TC) I begged him not to make me go there. It just didn't sound interesting. I felt like I wouldn't belong and I figured that I wouldn't get along with any of the teachers, but boy was I wrong! I never thought that TC would have changed me, and get my life back on track.
My school experience has helped define me as a person and has helped guide me through life. I attended a public school in Perry, Iowa. There was a small public school in my town, but it only taught through eighth grade, so everyone attended the same high school. During high school I participated in dance team, football and basketball cheerleading, marching band, color guard, concert band, jazz band, pep band, choir, select choir, drama, Resistance Skills Leaders, National Honor Society, GSA, Skills, Big Buddy, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and speech.
