I have loved music ever since I was young. All the catchy tunes and captivating lyrics have touched my heart and has had a great effect on my life. Music seems to change what's going on in the world around me. If I feel sad and lonely, I love to listen to upbeat songs which make me want to dance like no one is around and sing like no one is listening. When I daydream, I always listen to smooth jazz because it reminds me of my Grandfather. Some songs remind me of people I love. Whenever I hear Stevie Wonder's hit song "What a Wonderful World" it brings tears to my eyes because it lets me know that he is saying hello to us from heaven. I also think of my Nana when I hear the song "I just Called to Say I Love You" or "Say Something". I also musicals whether they are on the television, at the movies, or the theatre. When I was three years old, my parents took me to Toronto to see the Lion King Musical. This memory will stay in my mind forever. Regardless of the genres of music today, my moods change with the music I am listening to.

My grandparents could all play the piano. Some read notes, and my Nana played by ear. Huh, I guess that's where I get it from. I miss her dearly. My Mother is also musically gifted she plays the piano and always sang in the choir. My dad not so much! My brothers and sisters all love to sing. My brother is very talented playing rock and roll on the guitar. Even my dogs sing along when I play the piano. From the time I wake up in the morning to the time I go to sleep at night, there is always some form of music playing. Particularly at this time of year, Christmas carols are my go-to resources for feeling the joy of the season. I just love music I just love to sing!. We had new neighbours move in next door and one of the little girls that live there wondered if Rapunzel was their next door neighbour!! Some days I feel like Rapunzel, other days I feel like Cinderella, and like Elsa, I just Let It
Music has played an important part in my life. My love for music comes from my dad. Growing up I remember him having a room full of CDs and instruments that he played daily. The songs varied in genres and the instruments ranged from pianos, violins to drums. I grew up loving almost every style of music so, it is very difficult for me to dislike a song unless, it is vulgar or “dark”.
I think music has a way of explaining something or telling a story. Music can bring up happy times, it can also bring up sad times as well. Certain songs can remind someone of troubling issues from a past, can be the reminder of someone you have lost, it can also be a reminder of many happy times; such as weddings, high school dances, or even just hanging out with friends in the back
Music is a large consumption of my daily life and the artists I listen to have shaped me in some way. Listening to music is one of my most time
Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
Nothing lasts forever. Everything, whether good or bad has to come to an end. But people do say that sounds and voices do not die. Melodies we hear in our life lives on for generations and ever after. No matter who we are or wherever we come from; in whichever situation we were in, at some point of our lives, we have come across certain melodies that still live in our heart. And I am no different from others. There are certain musical pieces that have not only influenced my life, but have made a significant impact to change me for the better.
I’ve always loved music and singing, even as a kid. It has always been my passion. Performing on stage is what actually broke me out of my shell. Going into highschool I was very awkward and shy, but music helped me conquer my social awkwardness. Music has helped me give back to my community in ways I never thought of, seeing the smiles on people’s faces when I sing is one of the greatest feelings ever and I cherish it, and the applause when I’m done makes me feel all warm inside. Performing and helping others perform is something I love to do and it helped me find my place in the world. Learning a new song is fantastic experience as well.
Music is one of the most fantastical forms of entertainment. Its history stretches all the way from the primitive polyrhythmic drums in Africa to our modern day pop music we listen to on our phones. It has the ability to amaze us, to capture our attention and leave us in awe. It soothes the hearts of billions, and it is so deeply rooted in my life that it has touched my heart as well. Everyday I walk to the beat of the song stuck in my head and hum along to the melody. For me, to listen to music be lifted into the air by the hands of your imagination and float around for a while. You forget about your worries, your troubles and find peace within the sound. Every chapter in my life is attached with a song. Every time I listen to a certain song, thoughts of my past come flooding back
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
Music is that one friend that will always be there and will never judge us. It changes and has a huge impact on lives tremendously. There will always be that one song that can make a person get up and go. Sometimes, when we are sick it helps to take away some of the sorrow, pain, and it comforts us the best way it can. (White)
Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help
Music can make you discover things you never knew before. Music to me is like a second home where I can express emotions toward a situation that is in my way. You can listen to any genre of music and at the end of the obstacle it would be overcome by a solution that is right for you. Music can give you an important memory that you would never forget because it means alot to you. Music can be a part of important event in your life that would me so much to you and the people surrounding you.

Music has always been a big part of my life. Music is not just a bunch of melodies, rhythms, and vibrant sounds. It is a comfort to me. The lyrics of a song challenge my intellect and the rhythms and beats affect my emotions. Music understands me when people don’t. At times it takes me back to an event in my life or even in history. Both consciously and subconsciously my mind remembers the emotions that are attached to a certain song. It can make me feel on top of the world or the complete opposite; music can change the atmosphere and also set the mood. Music has power over my human soul. It soothes it. I cannot imagine not having music to listen to. It is a powerful force and my love for it is incredible.
Most of the times music can connect the human mind to his/her inner side that you've never thought you had. Music is nice way to express your feelings to others, just like through poetry. There are many different kinds of music in the world, we're not going to get connected to all the music but there is some that stand out and can catch your attention right away. I personally like to listen to Punjabi music from northern India. I was born in India and spoke the language the music was written in.
Through music we are able to comprehend someone’s personality, their views, their culture, and who they are as an overall person. The music you listen to is a reflection of who you are and your own personal thoughts. As I reflect on the music I listen to I came to the conclusion that I gravitate towards songs that depict the emotions we feel through lyrics while being able to relate it to my own personal experiences.
