I’ve always loved music and singing, even as a kid. It has always been my passion. Performing on stage is what actually broke me out of my shell. Going into highschool I was very awkward and shy, but music helped me conquer my social awkwardness. Music has helped me give back to my community in ways I never thought of, seeing the smiles on people’s faces when I sing is one of the greatest feelings ever and I cherish it, and the applause when I’m done makes me feel all warm inside. Performing and helping others perform is something I love to do and it helped me find my place in the world. Learning a new song is fantastic experience as well.
Music helped me realized that i am an auditory learner and helped me become a better multitasker what with musical, school work, and ski team happening all in the same season. Learning new pieces has always been a great experience for me and i’ve loved every

second. For instance, when i’m struggling with a very difficult part, the moment I actually learn it and am able to do it is the most satisfying feeling i have ever had. Music has also made me more mature by allowing me to be a role model for younger students and a leader within my my own class. It has put me into a leadership position by being an assistant in working with the middle school musical. Working with the kids is great because they look up to me and allow me to help them with problems they’re facing.
It’s a very rewarding feeling knowing you’ve helped someone who has been really struggling, and knowing that they trust you with their problems and that they know they can rely on you for assistance when they need it. Being involved with the musicals is some of the most fun i’ve had in my highschool career. I’ve always tried out for the highschool musical and always gotten a part, and just last year I helped the backstage crew of the middle school musical. Just being a part of it is what I like the most, being a single part in an entire production, and i’m the person who was best fit for that specific part. It makes me feel unique and different knowing that I was picked for that certain part. Last year I got my first actual lead as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz. It had to have been the greatest experience of my life, I read my script any chance I could because I wanted to make this the best performance I have ever done, and I feel like I had
succeeded. Now I don’t know what lies ahead for me and my musical background. But I know i’m going to work hard and try my best at any obstacle that comes my way. Because I want to make the most of my musical capabilities and I know if I work hard enough I will succeed.
My older sister loved the marching band, so I always got dragged to their performances. I could not tell what was so appealing about it all; it consisted of walking on a field while playing instruments and flags being swung in the air. Participating in a marching band was never what I intended nor wanted to do. The idea bored me, but my mom insisted.
Waving to my teammates as I walked out of the tennis courts, the reminiscence of a smile appeared on my face after winning a close match. A freshman teammate joined me and I heard her take a deep breath as soon as we were out of others’ earshot, muttering something nervously. “I’m sorry, what was that?” I asked a little too loudly, the excitement still buzzing. She mustered courage and made sure to speak clearly this time: “I’m being bullied, and I feel so trapped that I only see self-harming as my way out.”
After learning how to talk, I found that singing was something I really enjoyed. Music has helped me to express myself. I have
With so many different cultures, races, religions, personalities, etc., it’s surprising how many fundamental things humans share. Music intertwines us all with its diversity and the effect it has on us. Whether you’re looking to rock out in a dance party, get a good workout in, sleep soundly, study hard, recover from a depressive state, or get the thrill of a super scary horror movie, music is there. Although listening to music is thought to be solely a source of entertainment, it can be used to improve almost all aspects of our everyday life.
Music has always been an important part of my life. During high school I have developed areas of service and leadership through interests in children and gardening, which will continue to be major parts of my life.
I have loved music ever since I was young. All the catchy tunes and captivating lyrics have touched my heart and has had a great effect on my life. Music seems to change what's going on in the world around me. If I feel sad and lonely, I love to listen to upbeat songs which make me want to dance like no one is around and sing like no one is listening. When I daydream, I always listen to smooth jazz because it reminds me of my Grandfather. Some songs remind me of people I love. Whenever I hear Stevie Wonder's hit song "What a Wonderful World" it brings tears to my eyes because it lets me know that he is saying hello to us from heaven. I also think of my Nana when I hear the song "I just Called to Say I Love You" or "Say Something". I also musicals whether they are on the television, at the movies, or the theatre. When I was three years old, my parents took me to Toronto to see the Lion King Musical. This memory will stay in my mind forever. Regardless of the genres of music today, my moods change with the music I am listening to.
Music is one of the most fantastical forms of entertainment. Its history stretches all the way from the primitive polyrhythmic drums in Africa to our modern day pop music we listen to on our phones. It has the ability to amaze us, to capture our attention and leave us in awe. It soothes the hearts of billions, and it is so deeply rooted in my life that it has touched my heart as well. Everyday I walk to the beat of the song stuck in my head and hum along to the melody. For me, to listen to music be lifted into the air by the hands of your imagination and float around for a while. You forget about your worries, your troubles and find peace within the sound. Every chapter in my life is attached with a song. Every time I listen to a certain song, thoughts of my past come flooding back
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
Music is the third most important thing to me in life outside of god and my mom. Music keeps me balanced. Every since I was a baby music was played around me. Jazz was always played around me to soothe me. There would be times when I would be really hyper acting like I couldn't sleep, my mom would put on some jazz and I would be fine. A lot of times I can have a long chore and I say to my self how can I accomplish this, Knowing it will take me forever. So I'll put on some jazz music and in twenty-five minutes I'm finished.
Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help
Music has always been a part of my life since I was young because both my parents have musical background,
Growing up there was one rule in particular that my father was repeatedly teaching me to live by. From the time he had me take the test to skip first grade to the time when he placed me in an advanced math class in fifth grade, he'd been working hard to make sure I was never at ease and slacking in my education. As a child, I couldn't fully decode the importance of such a rule so in many cases it seemed frightening and unnecessary to me. It took years but by high school I began to finally understand that all the times he questioned and pushed me was so that later on I would learn to leave the small boundaries of my comfort zone to start challenging myself without fear or doubt.
When I was in the ninth grade when my choir teacher told me I had the vocal ability of a 20 year old. Because I was so young, the praise felt unreal. What ifs began to dreamily swirl in my head. Fantasy has always soared beyond sensibility for me, yet by being brought down to earth bit by bit I have learned a lot about myself and what is most important to me. Consequently, starting in the fall of ninth grade I began the struggle between my love of singing and my love of my religion.
I believe in music. In most of my life music has impacted my life in most ways then I could even think of. I have also found that music can lift me up when I’m feeling down, can pull me out into the light when I conceal myself in the dark, and help me see that there could be more out of the simplest of things I see. Even though I’m no expert or critic of music, I really like to pay attention to the lyrics, the notes, and the rhythm so I could enjoy it even more. Music can also speak more powerfully to me than words when I try to look for something that could help me in life.
Music has always had an impact on my life, so much so that I cannot imagine life without it. Occasionally I wonder what it would be like if there were to be a soundtrack playing in the background of it all. . I have had many life events in my life, and most of these, if not all relate to the songs. Without realizing it these life events are probably the reason that these are my favorite songs. The three most important events are the death of my grandfather, the cancer diagnosis of my aunt, and lastly the day I got my first horse.
