Music has always had an impact on my life, so much so that I cannot imagine life without it. Occasionally I wonder what it would be like if there were to be a soundtrack playing in the background of it all. . I have had many life events in my life, and most of these, if not all relate to the songs. Without realizing it these life events are probably the reason that these are my favorite songs. The three most important events are the death of my grandfather, the cancer diagnosis of my aunt, and lastly the day I got my first horse. I know that I will continue to have many major events in my life as I get older and most of these will relate to songs in some way. I was ten years old when my grandfather died, which I feel is a young age to lose your greatest role model. Many objects in every day life remind me of him however there is one item in particular; his truck. He had his old, blue ford truck for as long as I could remember. I remember he would pick me up from school every day and him and I would drink a Dr.Pepper on the way to his house. Every weekend I would go over to his house and …show more content…
I had never gotten over the horse phase so my parents finally got me a horse. When I got my first horse it changed my life forever. The first time I heard the song “Chestnut mare” it made me think of my mare Julie. This song reminds me so much of her because when I first got her she was beautiful but very shy and timid. The lyrics that really stand out to me are, ”Always alone, never with a herd, prettiest mare I've ever seen, you'll have to take my word, I'm going to catch that horse if I can, and when I do I'll give her my brand” because this is what my mare used to do when I first got her. I pictured her every time I heard this song and I dreamed of me taming her down and one day riding her. Eventually as time went on she got used to me and let me feed her, brush her, and even got the halter on.
Whenever I play this song, I can’t help but remember my childhood. My parents struggled financially but, that was never an excuse for them. They always took my brothers and I out on small adventures. One of the most memorable memories I get when I play this song is when my parents would take us out to park to have a barbecue, while my brothers and I ran through the park till we became tired and hungry. Whenever I need a break from the world, I listen to this song just to remind myself of those special moments, even though those days won’t ever return, they are memories I will always treasure.
I think music has a way of explaining something or telling a story. Music can bring up happy times, it can also bring up sad times as well. Certain songs can remind someone of troubling issues from a past, can be the reminder of someone you have lost, it can also be a reminder of many happy times; such as weddings, high school dances, or even just hanging out with friends in the back
My older sister loved the marching band, so I always got dragged to their performances. I could not tell what was so appealing about it all; it consisted of walking on a field while playing instruments and flags being swung in the air. Participating in a marching band was never what I intended nor wanted to do. The idea bored me, but my mom insisted.
Music is a large consumption of my daily life and the artists I listen to have shaped me in some way. Listening to music is one of my most time
Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
Music is something that I believe we could not live without. There is a quote by a philosopher named Friedrich Nietzschethat says “without music, life would be a mistake”. I interpret this to mean that humans would not be creative if it were not for music. There is a reason that music can take us where word cannot. When you hear so many different sounds coming together to make a perfect harmony it is obvious that no words can make you feel the same way as the music. The best thing about music is that there are literally too many genres to choose from. There are different genres of music for any mood you are in. The origins behind these different genres is an interesting and rich history that is begging to be studied and written about. Let me explain....
Music is one of the most fantastical forms of entertainment. Its history stretches all the way from the primitive polyrhythmic drums in Africa to our modern day pop music we listen to on our phones. It has the ability to amaze us, to capture our attention and leave us in awe. It soothes the hearts of billions, and it is so deeply rooted in my life that it has touched my heart as well. Everyday I walk to the beat of the song stuck in my head and hum along to the melody. For me, to listen to music be lifted into the air by the hands of your imagination and float around for a while. You forget about your worries, your troubles and find peace within the sound. Every chapter in my life is attached with a song. Every time I listen to a certain song, thoughts of my past come flooding back
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
Music is the third most important thing to me in life outside of god and my mom. Music keeps me balanced. Every since I was a baby music was played around me. Jazz was always played around me to soothe me. There would be times when I would be really hyper acting like I couldn't sleep, my mom would put on some jazz and I would be fine. A lot of times I can have a long chore and I say to my self how can I accomplish this, Knowing it will take me forever. So I'll put on some jazz music and in twenty-five minutes I'm finished.
Music is that one friend that will always be there and will never judge us. It changes and has a huge impact on lives tremendously. There will always be that one song that can make a person get up and go. Sometimes, when we are sick it helps to take away some of the sorrow, pain, and it comforts us the best way it can. (White)
Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help
Ever since I was a small child, I have loved music. The strong, steady beats, the
Music has always been a big part of my life. Music is not just a bunch of melodies, rhythms, and vibrant sounds. It is a comfort to me. The lyrics of a song challenge my intellect and the rhythms and beats affect my emotions. Music understands me when people don’t. At times it takes me back to an event in my life or even in history. Both consciously and subconsciously my mind remembers the emotions that are attached to a certain song. It can make me feel on top of the world or the complete opposite; music can change the atmosphere and also set the mood. Music has power over my human soul. It soothes it. I cannot imagine not having music to listen to. It is a powerful force and my love for it is incredible.
Music is an essential part of life because of the expression it allows people to have, its entertainment, and its therapeutic ways for the world.
Through music we are able to comprehend someone’s personality, their views, their culture, and who they are as an overall person. The music you listen to is a reflection of who you are and your own personal thoughts. As I reflect on the music I listen to I came to the conclusion that I gravitate towards songs that depict the emotions we feel through lyrics while being able to relate it to my own personal experiences.
