Recommended: The importance of setting goals
A few personal goals that I have in life are to stay healthy and take care of myself after I am done playing college softball. I want to be able to work out when I can, eat healthy foods and take the vitamins our body needs daily. The steps needed to achieve this goal is to always put my health first, as long as I am staying with my diet and I will be able to achieve this goal. Another important goal of mine is to always stay close to my family no matter how far or close we are. Along with my friends, I know it is important to keep good relationships, because they can be by your side all your life. I want to always be there for my friends as we graduate high school and drift away from each other, but I want them to know I am always a phone …show more content…
One of them is to graduate college with my intended major and with good grades. I then want to go into my career pathway which is broadcasting. I have known this was going to be my intended major since my freshman year of high school and I have every intention of staying in it and becoming a sports broadcaster. I want my goals to become a reality so I can support myself and my family in the future while still being able to love going to my job every day. Further steps I also need to achieve this goal, are to seek opportunities for myself whether I am starting small and getting a big opportunity at a news station. My worries for this career choice is not getting a good start or having doors shut and losing my faith in becoming a sports broadcaster. I need to remind myself that not every mission is accomplished right away, and it takes a number of tries to get where I want and need to …show more content…
Luckily, I have been ahead of the game getting into broadcasting at a young age, helped me develop my skills both in front and behind the camera. Other skills required to be successful in this career are to be confident and comfortable, being able to meet other people and talk to them without being nervous, or completing any task given to me. I believe I would be a very good fit with these skills as I have been practicing them in my everyday life and in school.
The job market trends in my future profession vary. Broadcasting is at a +7% when sports broadcasting is at -14%. This is why it is important to be knowledgeable in more than one fields, to be able to go beyond your major and learn more and become more successful at the same time.
Sports Broadcasters provide play-by-play commentary and reports for sporting events, and whether it be for radio, television, or live events. Sports broadcasters, typically offer background information on players, games, and analyse pre- and post-game showings. The salary of a typical sports broadcaster is $46,010 which can be a great start and there is room for growth in the industry. A few benefits of being a Sports Broadcaster are that if you enjoy sports, you will always enjoy what you are talking about, which you can potentially meet famous athletes and be able to travel to different places when sent on
“Do you recommend to become a sports journalist? Why or why not?” asked the interviewer. “Absolutely! It is a long process to become a sports journalist but it pays off at the end.
I want to be sportscaster when I grow up because I would like to discuss events with proffesionals. I also couldn’t see myself in life without being connected to sports. Also it seems really cool to be a sportscaster at ESPN because it looks like a cool place to work there.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
My my personal goals are to get a 27 on my ACT, have a above a 2.8 GPA, and get a basketball scholarship to ORU. I need to jump into college with alacrity.I plan on reaching these goals by working hard and really focusing in all of my classes every single day and making sure I make enough time in my week to study for all my tests I take. Even if I have antipathy for a class I still need to be inquisitive and ask questions.
A goal I achieved was when I graduated from high school many years ago. I was the first one in my family to graduate from high school. It was a big accomplishment for me and my mom. Graduating was my goal. I wanted to make my mom proud, life happens I couldn't go to college then but I told myself one day I will full field my dream to have a career. I meet my career advisor at a job fair and am here enrolled to be a medical assistant. My new goal is to work real hard to get the best grades I can possibly get and to have perfect attendance at the end off the medical assistant program. Am going use my time wisely, get all my work done in time and ask for help if I don't understand something.
College is the main goal of my life. It is a life dream to go to college to get a degree and get a successful job. Everything that I have done until this point is to get to college. During my senior year I plan to apply to many colleges and to take the SAT's to get into college. My GPA and SAT scores will be crucial for me to get into college. With college I will further my business career, making more successful in the field I enjoy doing.
Some of those careers include; sports management, sports administration, sports broadcasting, coaching or communication specialization for a college or a professional sports team. The idea of a sports communications degree is to prepare someone to be a good communicator in a sports setting. The inclusion of the sports aspect within this degree program is of vital importance, because it teaches me the aspects of communications within a this setting. This setting is one that is vastly different than most other environments, because of the major platform that sports holds in our society. Such, the understanding of how to be a good communicator within this setting is very important.
First off, I want to graduate from college and do it well. I want to be able to do things on the weekends and not worry about having to make things up or anything like that. I am hoping for a scholarship in football, in my opinion that would be a great start for me in college. Then after college maybe pursue that as a career. If that doesn't work out for me then I want to look into athletic training or physical therapy. If those things don't interest me or I don't get into it I am then looking into law. That will take much more time and patience, but it's gonna be the rest of my life.
If I were to pursue this profession, I would like to understand how I could achieve my ultimate goal. I am eager to understand what it takes to make it to the sidelines of major sporting events, such as the World Series, the Super Bowl or even just any regular season professional game. From what I can observe, many sideline reporters seem outgoing, friendly and have the capability of thinking on their feet, but many people
This allows the viewer to practice and almost participate with who they are watching. Solberg (2007) also says that this is a form of exercise which is a lot different than what happens in the U.S. because most people besides maybe kids and people, who play the sport they are watching, here do not watch what happens on television and practice the action. Anything that offers exercise is a great thing for anybody taking the time or just having fun acting like their favorite player. Zagacki and Grano (2005) also agree with Solberg (2007) in the fact that sports’ broadcasting is a great way for the fans to get involved and that is a way to hear about how a sport needs to change or how bad/ good it is. This feedback is important to sports because ultimately it is for the fans.
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
Every individual's unique and distinctive interests, goals, experiences, values, education, and skills often prove to be the driving force behind what they want to do and succeed at in life. For some people, such as famous sports figures Adam Schefter, Stephen A. Smith, Michael Wilbon, and Tony Kornheiser, these factors influence them to find watching college or professional sports, studying the lifestyle of determined athletes, conducting interviews, analyzing statistics, and playing sports themselves enjoyable, which are all aspects of the sports journalism career field. Sports journalism is an exciting and elating career field that falls under the broad umbrella of journalism careers, in which journalists collect, write, and distribute news and updates about amateur and professional sporting events.
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
My long-term personal goal is to be at a place where I am genuinely happy with myself and my life and not allowing others and their opinions on me or what I have done or am doing in life to
The Importance of Sports to Mass Communication Understanding mass communication without attention to sport coverage is practically impossible.
