Returning to school was something that I have always to do. I attended Central Piedmont Community College back in 2011 for about a year, and that did not work out too well because of transportation reasons. My mom and I were sharing her car and she works third shift so that didn’t work being that my classes were in the morning and some at night. So, I stopped going to school for a few years and worked and got a car and finally in January of 2015, I returned to college to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Finance to increase my chances for a promotion at work. I am nearly finished with my degree, and a supervisor position in a competing company had become available in another state. I had always dreamed to move to Atlanta Georgia and that is where …show more content…
I have met some really great people and I have also lost many friends. It seemed like when I started going back to school and got a better job, my childhood friends disappeared on me. With me moving to a new city I am kind of nervous about making new friends. It’s so hard to trust people these days. Moving to Atlanta I would need to find a new doctor, a new dentist, and even a new hair stylist. I have been going to my current doctor and dentist for almost 14 years and my hair stylist for a year now. I really like all of them and with me moving, I’ll have to find new people to go to. I have been researching already just in case I do decide to accept the offer. If I do decide to leave, I can always come back to visit my hair stylist at least. One day as I was looking online, I was looking at the apartments in Atlanta and boy they expensive! For a nice one bedroom apartment in the downtown area is going to cost you about $1,000 or better. Currently, I am only paying $690 for a one bedroom. I figured with the $15,000 per year raise it would actually cover that. I mean necessarily I don’t have to stay in the downtown area. There are a lot of apartments in the Atlanta area that are really nice for $800-900. If I could get a apartment between $800-900 that would be fine and then I would just need to pay for utilities and my car payment and car insurance. Plus, I will have my boyfriend helping out also. Luckily, my boyfriend can transfer his job down there. We found out that there are several locations where he works in
Finally, plan your move carefully. Since the South is well-known for its hot weather and humid atmosphere, moving during the fall presents the best opportunity. You should also pay attention to what is going on in the neighborhood you plan to move into. For example, if you are moving into an area with a nearby college, you should avoid moving the day the students will be moving back into their
Is it possible to need reasons to move to Florida? After all, the Sunshine State is hardly a backwater nor does it battle with nasty winter conditions. Still, if your boss comes to you and says he wants you to establish a new base in Fort Meyer or Kissimmee, you should seriously consider Florida and for the following 12 reasons.
It has been said that the grass is always greener on the other side. Being excited about the newness and challenges of a new place may not enable it to stay green for a lifetime, but the new place is a great place to spend the next four years. So even though I lived my whole high school life in one city where there were no actual problems, it still was time for me to move where there were new experiences.
Should you head to a traditional four-year university or culinary school? Should you buy a house or rent another apartment? Should you move to a new town or stay where you are?
However, the love for her job and the wealth of experience has since seen her travel to different countries on philanthropic missions. She is currently stationed in the country, an experience which she says has changed her life and would consider moving
Going back to college after you have been out of school for quite a few years, had three children, been married, and divorced is a lot harder than I ever imagined. It takes hard work, dedication, and missing out on the little things previously taken for granted. I miss taking naps the most. I believe if you can tough it out through the worst days, you can finish school and provide a better life for your children and yourself. You need a lot of willpower and a large sense of humor.
I never would have thought I would go back to school. Especially at my age. Not that age should be a factor in doing anything. I guess I did not have enough self-confidence in myself. It could have been the environment I grew up in. One reason I had decided to go back was to help others. Another reason I enrolled in college was to gain more knowledge. And the third reason I enrolled was to have a better future. But one day, I woke up and made a promise to myself that I would never be in an abusive relationship. Well life doesn’t always go the way we plan it to go.
opportunity to now live in one of the safest cities in the U.S. after years of
Going back to school at 30 is not the same as going back to school at 20, especially when you’re a single parent with an established career. Returning to school never left my mind throughout the years, I received my associates seven years ago and between then and now a lot had changed. So many questions I asked myself; do I have the time, who can help watch my daughter, can I juggle another load, etc. I answered every one of my questions; unfortunately I gave myself excuses instead. The decision going back to school was overwhelming because it was taking up another full time job; making it a priority and possibly putting in overtime to study and do homework.
When I made the decision to return to college to complete a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) I looked at many universities. I needed a university that was going to work with me not against me with the challenges of my already crazy life. Three challenges that I know I will be presented with during my time in school will be time management, distractions and support.
To move, or not to move? That’s the current situation that I must face right now. I have spent nineteen years of my life living in this area. Meeting new people and evolving into becoming friends, even best friends. Traveling with family up and down the country every summer. My friends and family has been on the side of me for my new journeys over the years. I am a person that loves to be around people that I have made memories with. Memories that I would not change or exchange for the for the world. Should I take a chance and leave or be safe and stay?
“What are your plans after high school?.”, This is a question that everyone is asked multiple times throughout the course of their lives. Sometimes it is just something that they themselves ponder in their own thoughts. What someone does after high school should be something that is not only interesting to that person, but will ultimately lead them into a career that they will loved and enjoy. A great career that is definitely worth considering is that of a paramedic. The job description of a paramedic is very broad and can have many affects on a person's life. But not only is this job greatly fulfilling to someone’s personal life, it is also very fulfilling to someone else’s life as well. It is a fast paced, adrenaline fueled job that requires more than the faint of heart. It requires a person who not only enjoys the thrill of the rush and a hard adrenaline pump, but is also content with
If my co-op placement requires me to travel or relocate I would look forward to it. Relocating from Dallas to Tuscaloosa has already been an incredible experience and I would have no issues relocating again. Although I would be away from campus and various school events, I am confident that I would find other ways to enjoy my time wherever I am sent. I believe that travel allows for a new outlook on life as a whole and greatly boosts creativity.
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
Making new friends can be intimidating, but it’s definitely rewarding. After all, friends form a big part of our life. They are the ones who walk through life together, share our ups and downs and joys and pains. Without friends, life wouldn’t be the same at all. We wouldn’t be who we are if not for them.
