Throughout my university career, I have developed multiple skills. These have been in both academic and social settings. This has helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses as well as how to develop those.
My Personal Development Plan (PDP) allowed me to identify my areas of strength and weakness, a skill in which I was lacking before. Using these strengths and weaknesses I devised a plan on how to improve those, some of those tasks I have completed, others require more time. Within my PDP I made a plan to improve 5 skills, these include:
• Gain a sense of my strengths and areas for improvement
• Improve my time management
• Improve my organisation skills
• Develop a strategy for improving performance
• Develop my self-confidence

To do so I have organised my weekly diary for semester one. As stated above. I have also written out all of my timetables into an understandable format and have posted them in my room on a cork board where they are visible every day. I have also set my alarm to ensure I am punctual to all lectures and seminars to the best of my ability. All of which have helped me improve my organisation skills as I am constantly aware of where I need to be and when and any other activity I must do before the end of the day. I do plan on continuing to improve organisation in the …show more content…
I have stated above that I have improved my confidence in lectures and seminars and have begun asking more questions however, I still need to work on this much more. I have reflected on both mistakes and achievements throughout my reflective log, my PDP, and on the feedback I have received from my PDP assignment, from my presentation, and I will reflect on my feedback from my biochemistry and chemical science and my court assessment, along with my exam results in the
One quickly learns that in order to be an effective teacher, one must consistently adapt and modify the practices of the profession. I feel the skills that I have learned throughout completing my professional development plan have better prepared me to teach in this changing world and assist our 21st century learners. I am doing things in my classroom in regards to technology that I never dreamed possible when I started teaching, and that’s just been in 5 years. I cannot imagine what I will be doing in another 5 years.
To understand my weakness is to understand myself as an overall leader and grant me the chance to improve myself. Knowing that I have limited methods of empowerment will hopefully allow me to develop a means of working towards a great...
A personal development plan is put in place to allow all staff in the organisation to develop in the progress to then meet the agreed standards of care. The personal development plan is a action plan based on reflection, self awareness, goal setting, and any additional training that is need to reach your own personal goals and targets and within the time frame
For personal and professional growth, given my personality traits, I need to embrace my strengths and weaknesses. I must use my strengths to my advantage, to be more effective academically and in the workplace, but I also need to identify and try to overcome my weaknesses, especially professionally.
... everything, and write down important events. Also from personal experience DO NOT procrastinates. Be interdependent rather than rely on just you or everyone else find a balance between the two. I think the most important thing to do is believe in you. You cannot reach your goals without this key factor. Also use a calendar, next actions list and tracking form. These help so much I know from personal experience throughout this year. This cuts down on stress and helps you keep organized and on track to the goals you have.
Professional development is a subject about understanding and using those effectively from my prospective. Besides it enhances a vital skill called “critically thinking”. Since the course started my expectations were always at the higher level. After the long run with my team and my teacher, I personally believe that I have successfully met my expectations from this course.
Professional Development Plan Introduction Professionals must coordinate their actions if they want to progress in their careers. A Professional Development Plan (PDP), is an essential tool in organizing individuals’ efforts. The Prosessional Development Plan will provide me with vast opportunities to plan and also define the critical career goals I want to achieve in the mental health profession. The PDP will also clarify the appropriate strategies that will help accomplish my professional goals. Another benefit of a PDP is that it will help me pay keen attention to any flaws that I am experiencing.
Overall, the PRP, PERMA model, and PPIs help students recognize their own and others accomplishments, identify their feelings and learn how to proceed through their lives, and learn that it is reasonable to have weaknesses as long as they are working on it, whether it be looking to others for help, and simply not giving
Through the self-assessment instruments utilized in this program, I have gained wealth of knowledge about my strengths, and weaknesses and how they affect my personal and professional life. By using different exercises, I recognized new strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, I identified ways to develop my strengths and overcome my weaknesses. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory (LSI) identified some of my strengths as the ability to get things done, initiating, and taking risks (Kolb, 2007). In the Strongest Self Feedback Exercise, some of the feedback listed my strengths as having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being self-confident, a fast learner, determined, hardworking, and an awesome listener (Drucker, 2005).
When reflecting on my leadership styles, strengths and weaknesses I am rushed with thoughts, memories, regrets and actions of personal ways that I have handled past situations in the work place and ways that I plan to handle new situations at my new work place. I have had many successes with the way I handle my leadership role but there are also things that I wish that I could go back in time and change. The way some situations are handled, I think to myself, well this could have been done differently or I could have done this instead of what I did to enhance the outcome of the situation. There is always room for improvement in whatever job or task someone takes on and this is just one of those things. During the development of my PLAP, I have had the chance to weigh out my strengths and weaknesses of my leadership and it has been very effective to seeing where improving needs to be met. The plan has also let me evaluate the direction I hope to head in to achieve my leadership goals.
In conclusion I believe that I have developed both skills working with others and improving your own learning and performance. But I need to work on these skills so I can use them in a more effective way; and I also recognise that I will not develop these in a short period of time. I will have to work on the strategies I have mentioned throughout the assignment in order to improve these skills.
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
Developing a PDP is a major method to allow individuals to understand and reflect their own performance and accomplishment and to create a plan for their personal training and career development (Personal development planning, 2009. Consequently, I decide to develop my PDP in early 2015. After one year and six months, I decide to reflect what
Personal and professional development plans (PDP) are the course of actions created on the basis of our values and our reflections on our skills which help us learn and develop ourselves and prepare us for the future. They are our estimations on how to and when to accomplish the tasks. Both personal and professional lives are benefitted with the development plan.
In conclusion it is very important to develop all the weaknesses I have in my professional career. I must continue to plan and evolve to hopefully become successful in my future career whatever that may be.
