Related Literatures To provide a background and framework for this study, selected literatures related to the study are presented in this section. This review includes concepts and studies that deal with the subjects of this research.
Organizational Commitment. Organizational commitment refers to the level of an employee’s connection to the business firm where he is employed and involves three essentials: an acceptance of the firm’s objectives and values, the enthusiasm to put forth efforts for it and the intention to stay within the firm (Mowday, Porter, & Steers, 2002). Employee’s commitment increases when he takes responsibilities and when he is authorized because he has the feeling that his work fit in to him (Matejka & Liebowitz, 2009).

The Retail Trade sector comprises of businesses engaged in retailing goods, generally without conversion, and rendering of services is incidental to the sale of goods. Retailers are organized to trade goods in small quantities to public. This sector comprises two major types: store and nonstore retailers. Store retailers function by point-of-sale locations, located and intended to attract walk-in customers. They typically sell merchandise to the public for personal or household consumption, but also serve business and institutional clients. Nonstore retailers also serve the public, except that their retailing schemes differ. They reach customers and market with other means such as broadcasting of “infomercials”, the broadcasting and publishing of direct-response advertising, the publishing of paper and electronic catalogs, in-home demonstration, door-to-door solicitation, selling from portable stalls (street vendors, except food), and distribution through vending machines.
