Family also contributed in the socialization and values learned by the children. The amount and the way time was spent was a determinant in closeness of a family unit. This kind of time was a table time where each member converse and enjoy while eating. According to therapists there was a significant relationship between the love in a home and the richness of family table (Foster 2011). Eating together as a family was also a way of parents in celebrating accomplishments. This can give children a self-esteem boost and develop their overall confidence. Moreover, Califano said “the magic that happens at family dinners isn’t the food on the table, but the conversations and family engagement around the table.” It was not the delicious food served alone and the nutrition we get from it but the interaction and relationship build throughout.
