Why have you expressed interest in the roles you have selected? I have chosen to express interest in the Directorate of Operations Student Internship for many reasons. One of which is my passion for International Relations and National Security. I have geared my academic focus to study international politics and policy along with national security, with a focus on the region of Eastern Europe and Russia. I strive to develop a more complex understanding of geopolitical issues and specifically global security challenges. An internship with the DO would provide me with valuable experience working hands-on on these topics. I am also interested in the internship as it relates to my study of the Russian language. Over the past year, I have dedicated …show more content…
As a potential applicant for the CIA's Directorate of Operations Student Internship, I possess a combination of skills, qualities, and experiences that make me well-suited for the role. I am currently in my 2nd year of Russian Studies and although my university has discontinued the language program, I continue to self-study for the remainder of my college experience and over the summer. This passion for learning the language and my current knowledge of the Russian language help contribute to my qualifications as a candidate. I also maintain excellent personal integrity in everything I do. This makes me an excellent candidate as I can ensure that my actions align with the mission and values of the CIA. My commitment to personal integrity is something I hold to a high standard and ensure in my everyday actions. In my sorority, I served as the Director of Ritual Education, in this position I upheld the traditions and values of my chapter. I utilize my integrity to honor our ritual and maintain confidentiality with it. I also enjoy working on complex tasks that require me to be inquisitive and investigative. These skills make me a qualified applicant since it shows my ability to work hard and think outside of the box on complex subjects. I have worked on two research teams during my time as an undergrad, one of which was a Biomedical Lab that required me to work on complex tasks and find creative solutions. My current focus of study is on international relations and national security, specifically, I find myself focusing my studies on Eastern Europe and Russia. I specifically focus my studies in my courses around international politics and specifically risks to National Security. In my course on “Problems with International Security,” I wrote a paper on the degree to which failed states, civil war, and refugee crises are related. In my course on “State Terror,” I wrote multiple papers on the fall of major governments and how the fall of these governments led to state violence. These two papers also had more of an individual focus on the Russian Region. I am currently enrolled in a course regarding “Weapons of Mass Destruction” where we study Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear weapons and the US government's response to them. Lastly, I am enrolled next semester to take a course on Ethnic Conflict and I plan to once again focus on state terror and potential risks for US National Security. I have also been invited to join a Nuclear Deterrence Research Team sponsored by a faculty member at my university. This research will allow me to further my knowledge of international relations and nuclear deterrence. I have not yet had the opportunity to travel abroad in an academic setting, but
Why do you hope to intern at the White House? * I want to intern at the White house for three reasons. First I would like to gain insight into foreign policy. As an undergraduate, I have been extremely fascinated with foreign policy especially with regards to China. In a rapidly globalizing world, I recognize the importance that innovative, intelligent foreign policy plays in ensuring our safety and the American way of life.
In order for JP Morgan Chase to consider me as a prospect candidate as one of their summer interns, I will have to demonstrate to the recruiter I poses the type of skills they seek for. On the on-line job web site under description they list that the summer candidate that will be chosen must be able to work under pressure, tight deadlines, able to adapt well and assume high level of responsibility. They also require for this person to have a well rounded academic background in finance, a GPA of 3.0, strong teamwork, communication skills, and high energy level. Since the characteristics for the summer intern job come so close to the ones I already have it seems to be a perfect match opportunity for me and for JP Morgan Chase bank.
The reasons that I am interested in the DC internship, are that it would be a great experience, it would help me develop new skills, and it would be the perfect start for my career. Participating in the DC internship I believe would be a great experience because it would be new and exciting. Personally, it would be good for me because I can learn how to be more independent. The internship can additionally, help me grow as an individual by being in a new environment and having the opportunity to adapt to it on my own.

I am writing to apply for the dbAchieve Sophomore Internship program in Cary, NC. As a Computer Science and English major at UNC Chapel Hill, I am very interested in the intersections between innovation, business, and culture. Deutsche’s program is one of the best examples of this intersection. By providing an internship that emphases inclusion, globalism, and diversity, as well as delivering a world class training in new and innovative technology, Deutsche exemplifies exactly what I desire out of my internship experience. Learning about other cultures and communities has been a constant drive for why I do things throughout my life.
Some of the limitations that I felt myself come across is that as an intern I was not able to follow up with my case load as much as I would have wanted. For one, my program is outpatient community based, meaning most of my interactions were at his home with a social worker because we are not allowed to use government vehicles to make home visits. This was difficult because I was not able to gain full rapport with my client because there was always an extra set of eyes that was also interfering with the process of rapport building. My other limitation was that I was only available two days a week which made it hard for me to be there as his case manager given the fact that he was in crisis a couple of times.
I have always had a love for animals, it’s as if I can seek them out wherever I am. Through this love for animals, I have found a passion in providing them the help they deserve. Through my senior internship (a program which requires all Seniors complete 60 hours of internship at a career of their choice), I was fortunate enough to intern as a Vet Tech Assistant at the SPCA Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. On my first day of my internship, I became acquainted with someone who would later become my mentor and very close friend. She taught me how to work with the animals in a medical setting, as well as filling out charts, place an I.V. and draw blood, and a myriad of other skills.

The fourth section is about the benefits of the RCBC Paralegal Program courses taken as applied to the work that I performed. The final section is devoted to the knowledge and experience that I gained during the course of internship.
Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students in today’s world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main purpose of the internship is for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they are highly interested in it really helps them get a bigger picture of the outside world.
In 2012, eighty-four percent of Santa Clara University graduates who responded to a survey from the Santa Clara University School of Engineering obtained one or more internships during their undergraduate studies. Of those who responded, eighty-two percent were employed full-time after graduation earning a median salary of $62,500 (Santa Clara University). This research exhibits that internships can be an important strategy in the efforts toward job search for both students, as well as for employers looking to hire valuable employees. As defined by InternNE.com, an internship is any carefully monitored service or work experience that may be evaluated for educational credit in which an intern or student establishes learning goals and reflects on his or her learning experience in relation to achievement of the stated goals. Internships should first be examined that, when implemented at fullest potential, these opportunities can provide companies and students with a competitive edge in today’s business world. Subsequently, it can be shown that internships assist organizations and companies with temporary or seasonal project and task completion. Lastly, internships will be clarified as to how they allow students to gain valuable experience before entering the workforce. From reviewing an ample amount of research, internships are beneficial and advantageous to the success of a young student, as well as companies.

My summer internship placement was Arise for Social Justice in Springfield Massachusetts for 10 weeks. I worked on anything the office needed, including answering phones, making copies, organizing food donations, and things I was not aware of I would take on addressing a lack of transparency the organization was lacking. My original hope was to work on environmental issues in the city primarily, however the issues I worked on the most were post environmental disaster relief. When I was notified I attended public hearings and community meetings later in the evening around other issues I am focusing part of my thesis cap stone project for the Honors College.

I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
