In order for JP Morgan Chase to consider me as a prospect candidate as one of their summer interns, I will have to demonstrate to the recruiter I poses the type of skills they seek for. On the on-line job web site under description they list that the summer candidate that will be chosen must be able to work under pressure, tight deadlines, able to adapt well and assume high level of responsibility. They also require for this person to have a well rounded academic background in finance, a GPA of 3.0, strong teamwork, communication skills, and high energy level. Since the characteristics for the summer intern job come so close to the ones I already have it seems to be a perfect match opportunity for me and for JP Morgan Chase bank.
JP Morgan Chase offers intern jobs for students in college that are trying to experience what it would feel like to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. I have an advantage on this particular subject because not only do I have to meet school deadlines that my professors assign to me which: most of the time I do under pressure because it feels like they all get together and schedule exams and papers due all on the same day but I also deal with it at work. The on-line web-site mentions that the candidate must be adaptable and assume high level of responsibility. It would be in my best interest that I should mention to the recruiter that I recently begun working at a bank and have adapted to their computer system, terminology and their every day procedures fairly fast. As a result of my ability to adapt well I have been given high level of responsibility, a characteristic that was mentioned on the job description for the summer intern. I am responsible for balancing my drawer at the end of each day and in dual control( a bank terminology meaning two people) I am responsible for opening and closing the bank properly , balancing the main vault, balancing traveler’s checks, gift cards, and any other assignment I am requested to do. Managers implement certain things into us that maybe were taught to them so when we become one of them they we will pass on the values they have implanted in us from day one.
The summer intern applicant is required to have a well rounded academic background with course work in finance in order to understand the managers or trainees whom will be training him/her.
Based on the positions avaliable, the targets for this recruiting campaign are candidates who are enrolled or recently out of high school as well as currently enrolled college students. The reason for targeting high school students is due to the fact that there is a large hiring pool for this targeted area especially for summer jobs. Targeting current college students is due to the fact that graduates are less likely to accept such an entry level position as their aim is to get into management. As mentioned before, those candidates are not willing to put in the “time” prior to getting to a management position and would rather look for a career path within their degree field.
Apart from the experience I have gained at LT Security Inc., my various internship positions have also exposed me to eye-opening responsibilities. For example, as a marketing intern at MySelf New York, I engaged in organized discussions with customers as well as colleagues in the pursuit of better promotional and marketing strategies. I have also gained experience with other matters such as employee coaching and assistance, employee relations, communication and implementation of policies and procedures during my time at Stony Brook University as intern in arts management and at Yunnan Changji Real Estate Co. Ltd where I served as an administrative
When I arrived at the career fair, I was a little overwhelmed at first. There were so many different options to choose from and I was unsure as to where to start. This was my first ever career fair so I truly wasn’t sure what to expect. After looking around for a few moments, I noticed straight ahead was a table for AAA. I was very happy to realize that the recruiter was one of my former co-workers, Nick. Nick and I talked for a few minutes and he explained the positions that were currently available at AAA. I don’t have any background experience for either of the positions that were open but I am very much interested in the internship opportunity that is available. Nick explained that they will be looking for a travel agent intern and I do
Your final report should be a complete report of your internship experiences under the title “How I Evaluate Myself as a Future Criminal Justice Worker,” and may not exceed five typed pages. Moreover, internships are great starting blocks for a career. Jeff McGuire explains how in today’s educational system, schools have specialized offices and employees whose primary responsibility is to help you...
Some of the limitations that I felt myself come across is that as an intern I was not able to follow up with my case load as much as I would have wanted. For one, my program is outpatient community based, meaning most of my interactions were at his home with a social worker because we are not allowed to use government vehicles to make home visits. This was difficult because I was not able to gain full rapport with my client because there was always an extra set of eyes that was also interfering with the process of rapport building. My other limitation was that I was only available two days a week which made it hard for me to be there as his case manager given the fact that he was in crisis a couple of times.
As a student, it never too soon to look at the job market in which you will be operating as a job seeker, and at what can help you to maximize the chance of having a profitable job. To be attractive to the employer is that students have to acquire during the school time. Nowadays, there have been many researches on 'employability', which is generally regarded as a broader concept of skills in the workplace. According to the definition given by the Higher Education Academy, employability is:
I am an ambitious young Saudi with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. When the economy is doing well, more accounting jobs are available. As the economy declines, so do the accounting job opportunities. With fewer jobs being available, it will be that much more important for me to have qualities that help me to stand out. By taking part in an internship, it allows me to gain experience that other applicants may not have.
The internship will include orientation on the function and will focus primarily on learning and developing new skills. This will help in the deeper understanding of concept through hands on application of the knowledge learned during the internship.
My internship at 6abc has been a dream come true. For me brushing elbows with a famous journalist like Jim Gardner means more than meeting a famous movie star. The atmosphere in the building is something indescribable and it changes every day, every hour to be precise. When news changes, the atmosphere changes. I have honestly dreamed of working at 6abc since I first realized I wanted to be a broadcaster. Their sense of family on television really grabbed me and I always knew that this was the place I wanted to work. Well I got here, but for only three short months, and it breaks my heart to know that I have to leave. There have been some ups and downs during my experience in the Creative Services department, but I gained a better understanding
After almost three years at Bernstein, I am once again seeking career advancement. My education and work experience have provided me with an excellent introduction to business, and they have sparked my interest in finance. Taking into consideration my foundation and my interests, graduate business school is the next logical step. At this point in my life, I consider a Wharton MBA to be necessary since I need to gain a broader understanding of finance and to sharpen my analytical skills in order to be successful in corporate finance. Wharton's MBA program will allow me to concentrate in finance, strengthen my global business perspective, and provide me with the opportunity to study with and learn from people with varied backgrounds. The school's location in the financial capital of the world and in one of the most diverse cities in the world also suits me perfectly.
...fessional such as perseverance, attention to details, critical analysis among many others. Hence, it is my belief, and due to my previous studies and professional experience, that I am ready to join your challenging program and capable of excelling in my studies.
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
