Candidates were throwing their names in the ring and people were experiencing potential candidates knocking on their doors and collecting signatures to reach the 200 minimum threshold to get their names on the ballot in August. I knew that I wanted to intern for a candidate in an assembly race because I had a few interesting races in the area I am from. I wanted to work for an assembly candidate in the 59th district because I know the area very well and I believed that I could actually have an impact on the race.
