Dogs and Mini Horses Should not be the Only Service animals
Picture blind or deaf not knowing where you’re walking. Not knowing when a baby cries or a smoke alarm rings. But then picture having a helping companion like a dog to help you, so you can have an idea of where you are going, or a mini hose to help you build up your muscles. But they’re not the only helpers, for example a capuchin monkey they are very intelligent so they can do many things for you. As you can see my opinion is that, we should allow other animals in public spaces like, capuchin monkeys or even a snake. My first reason why we should allow more animals are that there are many things that other animals can do to help that others can’t, for example a capuchin monkey has thumbs so it can pick up tools and other things, but unlike the capuchin monkey a dog or a mini horse do not possess that ability because they don't have thumbs. My second reason why we should allow more animals is that many people have allergies and can be allergic to horses or dogs but snakes

For example according to Monkey Helpers by Tamra Orr it states that capuchin monkey has shown that they are very smart and have the ability to solve problems. That makes me think if they're that smart if they could help feed people with disabilities? In the article Animals Helping People it states that they can get their owner a drink, so in my opinion i'm pretty sure that they can get their owner food. Also according to Animals Helping People dolphins can be used to relieve stress the article states that swimming with dolphins can relieve stress and help people with stress or disabilities relax. All this shows that we should allow other service animals in public places because different people need help with differnt
According to the ADA, dogs are the only kind of service animal. These dogs are especially trained to help
Dogs can carry out multiple tasks which prove they are a large asset in fields in which man can possess flaw and error that can be unforgiving and not to mention deadly. For decades dogs have been aiding in the works of keeping crime low, prevent terrorism, detecting explosives and patrolling for drugs and narcotics that can be dangerous to others and to please humans more than any other animal. Dogs can contribute greatly in the health and safety of our nation.
Imagine this, you are in a mall and a dog wearing a vest comes prancing in with its owner. What would you think? How would you react? Is it trained? Why does the owner bring in his/her dog to a store? Chances are, this is a service dog. Service dogs are used to help people with mental health issues, physical health issues, and social issues. Why do we need service dogs? The people could just go to therapy right? Well, wrong. Service dogs go through extensive training, to ensure they will be able to allow socially inept people to find a place in society, even though there may be some alternatives to their job. Together, let’s explore the ways that a service dog can help people function in society.
Animal-assisted therapy is often confused with service dog; it is two completely different type of usage of animals, which usually are dogs. It is commonly misunderstood because animal-assisted therapy and service dog are working animals with individuals with disability although according to (Hart-Cohen, 2009) service dogs is when an individual with disability is in need of help in order to function in daily life such as answering the door, crossing the street and the list goes on. While animal-assisted therapy animals are trained to offer comfort companionship, and affection to those in need in different situations such as courtrooms, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, and other places (Hart-Cohen, 2009). The point of animal-assisted therapy is to be available in specific situations to offer comfort to individuals. In order to become an assisted animal, the animal must undergo training, to receive a certified to prove that the animal is qualified to be able to control his or her behavior and is able to work with an...
You wake up in the hospital, look around, and find a doctor hovering nearby declaring that you have just suffered through a heart attack; affirming that if not for your dog, you would have died. You remember back to earlier that day: sitting on the couch, feeling a little off, hearing your dog barking, sensing him nudging you, going to the phone to call the ambulance, and having your dog by your side until you were safe inside the aluminum walls of the emergency vehicle. Although it sounds abnormal that a dog would be the one to save someone’s life, situations similar to the one above are not uncommon. Dogs and other household pets have been shown to be able to detect medical emergencies, including heart attacks and seizures, in their owners.
Animals can be a man's best friend; however, they can also be ones worst enemy after passing certain boundaries. Peter Singer who wrote Animal Liberation gave valid points in my opinion because animals do have a right to live and we should give them their space. Humans take everything for granted and never seem to learn until it too late. Today slaughterhouses are abusing animals in disturbing ways which has to change. I will agree with Singers concepts on animals because they have a right to live a peaceful life like humans; they have a life ahead of them once they are born. Singer argues that animals should have their interests considered throughout their lives. Singer wants to eliminate speciesism from our thoughts which is, a human discriminatory belief that all other animals are not as good as them therefore they do not have rights and we could do what we want to them. We should not be the only types of "animals" in this earth who has a set of rights we should abide.
Primatologist Frans de Waal of Emory University, says, “I do think we have special obligations to the great apes as our closest relatives, but if we give rights to apes, what would be the compelling reason not to give rights to monkeys, dogs, rats, and so on?” All animals should have rights but it needs to be kept clearly in mind, that apes are what we, as humans, have descended from. They are our true parents, therefore one would do all they can to help protect their parents. The same needs to be done to ours. Apes are the reason we are here, why our parents are here, along with grandparents, and the rest of our loved ones and as our ancestors, they need our protection. What kind of children would it make us if
A wise author once said, “Animals share with us the privilege of having a soul.” This is incredibly true for service animals, who help people with mental disorders. Animals are trained to help people with certain disabilities to have less trouble functioning throughout their everyday lives. Service animals help the world a great deal. Guinea pigs help kids with autism spectrum disorder to show more positive social behavior.
People seem to look at animals as a source of their own entertainment. When people go to the zoo or the circus, many do not seem to wonder if the animal is happy or not. They only worry about being entertained after all, that is why they paid to see animals in cages or doing tricks. People may not see it, but animal cruelty does not only happen in homes it also happens in circuses, zoos, and labs. It can take place anywhere, and it can happen all over the world. Many people use animals as transportation, food, and entertainment, and not once do they look at the animal’s face and think, “is this right?” No, instead they kept treating animals as if they are some sort of object that belongs to them. Animals do not have a voice to speak up for themselves to let people know that they are being treated wrong. Many people tend to overlook animal cruelty because to them it does not seem like the animals are being hurt. Animal cruelty is anything that can cause harm to the animal, whether it physical or psychological. It occurs for many different reasons, but none of them are right. It is a worldwide issue that seems to be overlooked. People should educate themselves about animal cruelty because it can help to decrease or eliminate it.
Visualize this: Someone is trying to rob your house. If you had a guard dog, that could help, since guard dogs are supposed to protect you. What about a three-hundred pound, ferocious, carnivorous, Siberian Tiger? Too bad they are illegal in most states. I believe that exotic animals should be allowed as pets because some exotic animals are naturally quiet, most of them are hypoallergenic, which means that they do not cause allergic reactions, and they live longer than common household animals.
Animal welfare is a fairly recent, yet troubling argument in society. This subject is a strong argument on a variety of opinions. Animal welfare has become a major issue and has grown internationally. The human concern and the safety and rights of animals is the meaning of the concept of animal welfare. Through decades of animal welfare, people fight to prevent the action of animal cruelty and bring help towards animal rights.
Have you ever had a exotic pet? Do you think that you could take care of a wild animal? Do you think that anyone can? Why would you have an exotic animal in the first place? I believe that you should not let citizens be allowed to keep or own a exotic animal as a pet?
Animals should be allowed to rome free and be happy with a lot more animals like them. Some animals are born into zoos and never get to know what it’s like to be free. Animals are living things like us we should treat them the way they deserve. At the least the zoos should make the animals enclosures look more like their homes.
over 1,800 cases of animal cruelty in the past year because of the lack of animals having rights revealed in the media, with 64.5% involving dogs, 18% involving cats and the other 25% involving other animals. They should have rights because they have feelings, they are valuable, and they mean a lot to some families to the point where they’re considered to be a part of the family. Most importantly, humans are also animals, So think about how you would feel if someone had full control over you or someone you loved and did things to you that you didn’t enjoy or like. You have to think about their world from their standpoint. Yes, they are animals but they should not be less valued just because they are different from humans.
One of the greatest arguments against non human animals having rights is that they cannot speak for themselves, they cannot think and they are less human and so they can be created as such. There are flaws on this argument. Humans have an obligation to the society in a certain manor and this determines how they behave. From a young age, people are taught how to behave and act in a certain way and animal neglect and cruelty goes against the basic principles we are taught as children. Secondly, In addition, opponents argue that rights only belong to moral agents and that animals like moral urgency. This is absurd because some animals for example primates actually think very well and this should not be used against animals being given rights. Animals may not be having self awareness and are not able to communicate well but at least they inherently have rights just because they do exist as living things and they are able to feel pain and other emotions. Their ability to suffer and feel pain gives them a right not to be subj...
