My entire life, I have strived to do well in everything I do. I have never wanted to settle for second best in the activities that I am interested in. Once I have a goal in my mind, I work until it is complete. I work to overcome the obstacles ahead of me. In school, I work towards perfect marks on everything from homework to tests. Not only do I work hard in school, but I work hard in the other activities that I am involved in. One example of my hard work in another activity is Solo and Ensemble Contest. This year, I had a couple of months to work on a snare solo that I was to play in front of a judge for a professional rating. When I first looked at the piece I was given to play, I had many doubts as to whether I could pull it off or not. I worked hard every single day practicing it. Eventually, I was able to play it all the way through with no mistakes! By the time I played it in front of a judge, I had played it so many times that it was pure motor patterns. I scored a superior rating on it, which I credit to my hard work. If I am going to do something, I am going to commit wholly to it. If I am chosen to be a member of the NHS, I will work hard to accomplish any task given to
