Holland Drew Being proud of something can have many different meanings to people, but to me, it means to be honored and to be glad that something happened. I am proud about many things in my life but one thing I am extremely proud of is my induction into the NJHS. NJHS stands for National Junior Honor Society. In order to be eligible for the NJHS, you must have at least a 90% average in all your classes and demonstrate good behavioral skills. Just because you’re eligible, doesn’t mean that you will make it into the NJHS. The NJHS is not just a club, it is a society, and most importantly, a privilege. Once you are eligible, you will have the option of applying. The application process includes an essay about why you show the five characteristics of an NJHS member and why the …show more content…
NJHS needs you in their society. The five characteristics of an NJHS member are character, scholarship, service, leadership, and citizenship. Character is the force within each individual which distinguishes that person from others. Your character makes you who you are. Character is achieved, not received. You have to earn it. The NJHS looks for students that show their best character. Scholarship means a commitment to learning. Knowledge is one great element in life which leads to the highest success, and it can be acquired in only one way - through diligence and effort. In order to keep that 90% average, you must study, work hard, and stay focused. Service can be described in various ways.
Willingness to work for the benefit of those in need, without monetary compensation or without recognition, is the what the NJHS seeks in its members. Leaders should exert a positive influence on the member’s school. A real leader strives to train and aid others to attain the same objective. No matter what power exists, you are ineffectual without the guidance of a leader. The NJHS is completely made up of leaders that will make their school a better place. Citizenship is the obligation each member of the NJHS faces to live up to, the democratic ideals given to each and every individual by the founders of their country or beliefs. As good citizens, we are bound to live up to the laws and guidelines of our community and improve not only our lives, but the lives of others. The NJHS strives to help improve the lives of those around us. Every member of the NJHS possesses these 5 characteristics in every way possible. I am beyond honored, and proud, to be able to call myself a member of the National Juniors Honor Society. I hope that more kids in the future will get into the NJHS, and our community will become a better
place.
Throughout the years of being a student at Council Rock, I have come to the realization of what a true leader is. A leader is not someone that just plans events, collects money, or shows up to meetings. Rather, this is someone that has a true connection with their peers, and has unmatched passion for what they do. With this, I can confidently say that since seventh grade, as a young adult, I have been shaped into an individual that fits these traits. Since that time, I have been involved in student government,
I represent the characteristics of NJHS because I show good leadership, character, citizenship, confidence, and focus. I respect everyone for who they are, and I treat everyone the same way. I have a commitment to learning. I will do everything I can to make good grades, and achieve my goal. I like to have a vision, inspire others to support my vision along the way while creating their own, and share my vision with those around me. I like to volunteer my time and ability to help others for a better tomorrow. I follow the school rules, and I do everything instructed by the teacher. I would be willing to help any teacher if they need help. I have never made below an eighty on my report card. I will use my qualities to contribute to NJHS by symbolizing
When my teacher handed out some papers I was surprised that I got one, considering I’m really goofy. The more I look into it, the more I realize how much of a honor it is to even be considered to be selected in the NJHS.
I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.
In the letter I received it stated that membership is based upon “scholarship, service, leadership, and character.” I believe I exhibit these important traits in my daily actions with my school involvement, and would enjoy enriching my community involvement. I consider myself
Thus, explaining the criteria I must meet, I wish to give unto you a detailed account of my qualifications for gaining membership in the National Honors Society.
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
I would be an excellent choice to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society because I show service, leadership, character, and citizenship. It is an amazing opportunity anyone is lucky to have, and I am more than happy to accept it. I love helping people, being able to feel accomplished knowing I put a smile on someone’s face. Being in the National Junior Honor Society, I’d love to share my ideas and thoughts on how to make the world a better place.
NJHS members are seen as role models. Nonetheless, I would be a perfect example for students to admire. I find it amazing that just by doing simple things and doing your work, you can be a part of a respectable group. There are many reasons why I should be accepted for this honorable group I turn in my work all the time, I get high achieving grades, etc. Also, I do volunteer work. Recently, I volunteered to help out for Metro Health Community Clinic and Interpreter
“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
To be in the National Junior Honor Society, one must have good citizenship and character. I seek to be a part of this society because it is a great honor and shows not only to others, but also to myself, how hard I have worked throughout my years at Northvale Public School. I take part in school activities and have helped my teachers, so
I am honored to be among the students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is a group that I have been anticipating joining since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with grades and praiseworthy character, I believe that I have both. My grades are a priority at school because when it comes down to it that is what I will be judged on, alongside my character and attitude. As a student athlete, I pride myself on being a good role model, not just in my home and school, but also in my community. I have participated in many activities that served
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.
In conclusion, character, leadership, scholar, and service are all characteristics upon which I hold. Being considered to join NHS with my classmates is a huge honor and I will put forth hard work into keeping up my grades as well as helping in my community. I hope to gain as much knowledge as I can from NHS and be a role model for anyone in the upcoming grades, who wish to be in NHS. Thank
NJHS is not just made up of successful members, it’s also made up of hard working and motivated members. We strive to be the best we can, and that is why we got chosen for this honor society. I deeply care about NJHS, and am extremely ecstatic to be a part of this talented group of individuals. Today I would like to talk to you about why I should be a Community Service Chair. I am very organized and love to keep track of things, whether it be in a planner or a spreadsheet. As the Community Service Chairs keep logs of fundraising ideas and of people signed up for NJHS functions, this would be perfect the perfect job for me. I'm also very responsible and always get my work done, so nothing important would never be forgotten by me. I would never
