I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school. In my opinion I think I would be an exceptional member of NJHS. I feel like I show a lot of signs of leadership, good character and citizenship. I feel like I would contribute to the organization as well. One example of myself showing leadership is I went to my 6th grade math teachers’ classroom. There I helped the kids with there classwork. I’m so glad I went there since some of the kids were having trouble understanding the material. When I explained how to do it and helped them with it their grades began to boost. Another example of a time I showed leadership is when I went to the town library to read to children. Doing that made me feel good since some of them were to young to know how to read. Also, it was enjoyable to read to the children because just watching listen to you made me feel responsible and teacher-like. I show good character by helping my sister if she need help with her homework. I sit down with her and explain how to do it or if she doesn’t understand a question I explain what it means. I stop when she says she does not need my help anymore. I also show good character by sticking up for my friends if they need it or want it. My friends are one of the most important things in my life and if they need up I will gladly help them. Another example of myself showing good character is at lunch when people put their lunch trays away most people do it carelessly. So, I try my hardest to make sure the trays are in a neat pile. The lunch ladies have a hard-enough job as it is. So, I do this to make it a little easier. Examples of myself showing citizenship is when I was younger an at the time my mom worked for the Rotary Club

I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.

I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.

My extracurricular activities and groups that I belong to fall into the two main areas of my life that I am passionate about: community service and technology/science. I have always wanted to give back to my community because it is the community that has enabled me to be fortunate enough to have opportunities such as these where I can contribute, learn, and grow as a young adult. I have pursued a number of organizations devoted towards giving back and servicing my local community. Those organizations include: Boy Scouts of America, SMYLE youth group (Saint Margaret's Church), and Peer Advocates (Madison Youth and Family Services). The DHHS Tech Club, and the DHHS Hacking Club are the two main technology organizations that I take part in and also have active leadership roles in.

Once there was a girl who is no different than you that was struggling with something inside her. This evil force is called depression. Depression is an illness runs in her family, which made it easier for her to develop it. At school it was like she was someone else. Suicide was a concern of her family. School was the most exceedingly terrible bad dream, not by virtue of she could not have cared less for it, but rather it was the people that encompassed her. At school one day all of this changed, because of her angel Mrs. Ogle. That girl was me.
