National Technical Honor society is a prestigious club. Having the opportunity to apply for this prestigious society had left one honored. Being in such a prestigious program will open many more doors, and give one more opportunity to succeed in the future. I feel that all the candidates for this prestigious program have the grades and are all capable of being part of this program, but I also feel that by describing my unique set of skills I can merit membership into National Technical Honor Society and be a beneficial member.
Jacksonian Democracy Between the years of 1775 and 1825, the United States government was hypocritical with respect to their Native American policy. The government, at most times, claimed to be acting in the best interest of the Native Americans. They claimed that their actions were for the benefit of not only their own citizens, but for the Native Americans, too. These beneficial actions included relocation from their homeland, murder in great numbers, rape, and a complete disregard for the various cultures represented by the Native Americans. While the nation was still very young, it issued the Northwest Ordinance. This document told the Native Americans that they should not feel threatened by this new nation because good faith shall always be observed toward the Indians. The United States told the Native Americans, with this document, that they were dealing with a just and humane country. Despite these humane intentions, in 1790, Native Americans pleaded with President Washington about the cruel treatment they were receiving. The Indian chiefs wrote to Washington to inquire as to why they were being punished. They referred to the American army as the town destroyer. Obviously the Untied States was not acting in the good hearted manner and just way it had declared it would in 1787. Americans, as they moved westward, tried to rationalize its brutal treatment of the Native Americans. In 1803, Jefferson set two goals in regard to dealing with the Native Americans. His first goal was to convince them to abandon hunting and become educated in the ways of the white man (i.e. agriculture or raising stock). He said that they would see the advantages of this better life. In reality, Jackson wanted to control the amount of land the Native Americans occupied. He also spoke of leading them to civilization and to the benefits of the United States government. Jefferson presented these goals as being advantageous for them. In actuality, these goals put the Native Americans at a sizable disadvantage. In 1811, an Indian chief
Character to me is not doing good things to other people to look good, but to be good. I am always striving to help others out. I always am willing to invite someone lonely to a lunch table, or help others out while going class to class. I have organizational skills and am able to come up with many innovative ideas that will be beneficial to National Junior Honor Society. I am a great listener, but can step up to be a leader when needed. I am kind and polite, and always turn my work in on time and I also have never failed a class or subject in my life. I also have the ability to speak in front of large groups of people and present ideas. I think that I have a character that would really benefit in the National Junior Honor
2. I have the ability to share a sense of vision and also an uplifting energy. I can create and build a team so they can eventually reach their peak potential. Finally, I take responsibility for driving things forward and can identify the need of change and initiate a change when it is needed. As an orientation leader during orientation, I will be able to showcase my strengths by combining random upcoming students from different walks of life and provide them with the tools
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
NJHS members are seen as role models. Nonetheless, I would be a perfect example for students to admire. I find it amazing that just by doing simple things and doing your work, you can be a part of a respectable group. There are many reasons why I should be accepted for this honorable group I turn in my work all the time, I get high achieving grades, etc. Also, I do volunteer work. Recently, I volunteered to help out for Metro Health Community Clinic and Interpreter
Every member of the NJHS possesses these 5 characteristics in every way possible. I am beyond honored, and proud, to be able to call myself a member of the National Juniors Honor Society. I hope that more kids in the future will get into the NJHS, and our community will become a better
John H. Johnson was born January 19, 1918 in rural Arkansas City, Arkansas. His parents were Leroy Johnson and Gertrude Jenkins Johnson. His father was killed in a sawmill accident when little John was eight years old. He attended the community's overcrowded, segregated elementary school. In the early 1930s, there was no public high school for African-Americans in Arkansas. His mother heard of better opportunities for African-Americans in Chicago and saved her meager earnings as a washerwoman and a cook and for years until she could afford to move her family to Chicago. This resulted in them becoming a part of the African-American Great Migration of 1933. There, Johnson was exposed to something he never knew existed, middle class black people.
The National Honor Society upholds four pillars of excellence that all members attain; scholarship, service, leadership, and character. While these four ideals are present in all members I believe that I withhold these characteristics, as well as numerous others, which qualifies me as an ideal scholar and member of the National Honor Society. These assets are not adequately portrayed in my application, but are equally important to scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. A member of my family was a former member of the National Honor Society; he has mentioned many positive benefits of being a member and how being a member is beneficial to the community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
To be in the National Junior Honor Society, one must have good citizenship and character. I seek to be a part of this society because it is a great honor and shows not only to others, but also to myself, how hard I have worked throughout my years at Northvale Public School. I take part in school activities and have helped my teachers, so that my classmates and myself can have a better learning experience. During Brain Busters meets, there are times that I am in charge of the group I am in and although it is a lot of responsibility, I know that my team depends on me to help them.
I am involved in several clubs, such as Spanish club and HOSA, although I do not hold office in any of them, I try to serve as a leader and to use my intelligence to help the school. As a leader I am capable of using my potential to aid in inspiring others. I hope to prove myself to be a good example and guide for those who need help. As a new inclusion to NHS, I am committed to help my fellow students study and to do their best. I possess a variety of study and organization skills that I can pass on to other students. National Junior Honor Society as a nation premier organization started to recognize outstanding middle-level students. NJHS is a way to honor students who have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of excellence in the areas of the five pillars which are, scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This organization that was started in 1929 is a great opportunity for me to show my family and teachers how hard I work to get this far. I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary student who are being considered for this program. This organization the so many great things in society, and knowing that I could potentially be a part of it and play a part in futuring the impression that the organization has already made. I am a determined student, and will do anything to do my absolute best even when something hard is thrown my way. I have always hoped to be a part of something big like National Junior Honor Society, and I hope that this will be my chance to be a part of something big. In my essay I have provided several reasons why you should consider me being on National Junior Honors Society.
Throughout everyday tasks in the classroom, or outside of school, I step up and lead those who need to be led. I constantly find new opportunities to lead others and help the situation any way I can. Every summer the band has a marching band camp for a week straight that we must all attend. Being an experienced band member, I step up and assist all underclassmen and show then where to go and what they need to be doing. Instead of getting frustrated when giving the freshman directions, I am calm and collect and walk them step by step until they understand, something most leaders would not have time or patience for. With many plans to help others and lead within my community, I believe that I have what it takes to be a strong, and powerful leader for the National Honor Society.
In addition, as mentioned before, I am not ashamed to admit my mistakes and I will pridefully do it if they are harming someone other than myself. I show Caring for both my friends and teachers by taking care to ask for their well being should they miss a class without warning, also in my personal life, I care for my sister when my mother can’t do it, and am the nurse and caretaker for all the animals I have at home should one be wounded or sick, and if the worst comes to be, I am the one to bury them and decorate their graves. I demonstrate fairness for being one of the few in the class who stands up to bullying and mean jokes, such as the latest one in which other students took and hid the pencil cases of one another, I always tried to give it back to them if it was passed on to me, and if it was one of my friends, I always tried and recuperate the lost items from the “robbers”. I consider myself to fit into the paper of an NJHS model student, and hope to inspire others to try and be role model students as
