My academic goals are to maintain getting good grades in high school and college, join the Honors Program, be involved in study groups, and to continue being a good student. While I am in college, I do want to be in hospital volunteer programs or be involved in internships. Since I am aiming to be a Cardiologist, my other goal in College is join a premedical study program. Health Professions High School is helping me have lots of exposure to the medical field. So far, I have been accepted to UC Davis Programs in Health Care and right now I am currently in a job shadow program at UC Davis Pathways. Continuing my academic goals will make me more successful by being more highly committed to the career that I want to pursue. I will provide a
professional portfolio that includes all my academic work, awards, and community service. Not only have I done so much hard work, but I also joined college classes at Sacramento City College. This college has challenged me well to be powerfully prepared for college. In addition to academics, my community service is huge. I have done about 200 hours of community service. Most of the hours were under Health related services and the rest is other general related services that are not related to Health Care. Another goal in college is to continue being involved in Community Service so that way I can stand out more on my medical school applications.
I am delighted in my career as a professional nurse and seeking the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) gives me the opportunity to expand my knowledge base in order to practice at a higher level, and obtain the terminal degree in my profession. My goal is to become an adult nurse practitioner, with primary focus to improve the practice of nursing. The Doctor of Nursing Practice will equip me with knowledge and skills needed to understand and appreciate research and facilitate the process of putting evidence into practice, with the overall goal of achieving improve patient safety, satisfaction and outcomes. The Doctor of Nursing Practice will enable me to assume more leadership role, in practice and in research. I should be able to participate in research and formulate nursing models guided by evidence based practice models of care. Having practiced as a professional nurse for five years, obtaining the Doctor of Nursing Practice gives me the opportunity to foster my professional growth and development.
My immediate goals after completing this program is to take some time off from school, pay off our (additional) student loans, and when the time is right possibly evaluate the feasibility of pursuing my Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration or continue on in trying to obtain my Master 's Degree in Nursing. However, I currently foresee immediate challenges to those plans - my eldest child, my son, is currently a junior in high school, aspiring to become a Pharmacist and attend UH Hilo. In addition, my daughter, who is three years younger to my son, is aspiring to become an Ophthalmologist. So as with any parents, I may put my goal aside to help both my children achieve their goals.
I don’t have one career goal; I have multiple career goals, because everything is a goal towards a greater goal. One needs to accomplish little things to achieve something bigger. When it comes to career goals I would like to be able to accomplish everything needed to be successful. With schooling I need to try hard and pass all my courses and receive all my credits in order to graduate. I also need to be able to pass my final exams. A major goal is graduation. Graduation is the main point to all of this. After I graduate my goal is to find a job in North Carolina at a hospital or clinic. There are many job settings for Healthcare administration, but in a hospital is my main goal. I wouldn’t mind working another setting, but a hospital is what I am shooting towards. Once I achieve this goal, I know I will what to bump my education up and try for my master’s degree. My educational goal that I have set for myself is to establish and maintain high grades in each course resulting in a stellar GPA. This will be accomplished by setting a schedule for my assignments, and maintaining pace with the program for a thorough understanding of the material.
