My educational goal that I have set for myself is to establish and maintain high grades in each course resulting in a stellar GPA. This will be accomplished by setting a schedule for my assignments, and maintaining pace with the program for a thorough understanding of the material. My focus is to not only succeed academically, but to be able to apply what I have learned in a clinical setting with excellence. Within my career goal is embedded the desire to become a highly skilled professional. After I have passed the registry exam and become certified as a registered X-ray technician, I look forward to working at a hospital. At the same time I will be engaged towards enhancing my career by taking advanced courses in Computed Technology and Magnetic
After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I continued to work as a staff MRI technologist. Even though I loved what I did and had a passion helping people, the lack of diversity within radiology and its limited room for growth bothered me. I decided to look into furthering my career and found an interest in Health Information Technology. Upon researching many different schools through the country offering an online graduate Health Information Technology program, the University of Michigan in Dearborn stood out to me. Medicine and technology have both always been a part of my life, and I am very happy and excited that the chance for it to play a new part has finally arrived. I’m motivated to learn how I can combine the science of information with clinical knowledge so I can help to better patient care and
My lifetime goal is helping others and I plan to use my career to fulfill it. The classes I’m taking right now and the ones I’m planning to take senior year are classes I believe will influence my decision in my college major/career as well as counting toward my GPA. This will help me get into schools who have medical programs that I’m considering. Also, taking AP classes can help me save money since I can earn college credit. I’m taking all AP classes, and the electives I’m taking have been classes that have helped me consider being in the medical field. I’ve found that over the years, science and math are what I’m doing better in versus history and english. I believe by being in the medical field, I can help others in the best way I can.
One of my goals I want to accomplish is to get the highest degree possible in college. I want to major in nursing and the highest degree in nursing is a doctorate level degree. Even though I have to get my bachelor’s and master’s degree first, I will accomplish my goal and get my doctorates. I am currently focusing on school and getting excellent grade so I can get into a good college. I also occasionally look up medical things and, learn more things about my future career on the internet. This will help me prepare for what I have to do and what my expectations are being a Neonatal Nurse.
Overall, I believe that I am right on track for completing graduation, A-G and even UCs requirements. Honestly, I believe that I do not need all of these requirements to help me with my career pathway because I am determined and had everything planned out for my life and future. In addition, I am responsible for my life and future. Therefore, there is no need for anyone to make a plan for my own life and future. Although, I am grateful that Savanna High School offers Medical Career classes so I would have a better understandings about the career pathway that I have
My immediate goals after completing this program is to take some time off from school, pay off our (additional) student loans, and when the time is right possibly evaluate the feasibility of pursuing my Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration or continue on in trying to obtain my Master 's Degree in Nursing. However, I currently foresee immediate challenges to those plans - my eldest child, my son, is currently a junior in high school, aspiring to become a Pharmacist and attend UH Hilo. In addition, my daughter, who is three years younger to my son, is aspiring to become an Ophthalmologist. So as with any parents, I may put my goal aside to help both my children achieve their goals.
Upon being accepted at the Georgia Military College, I determined that I would spend my two years retaining everything I could in order to successfully become a registered nurse. Not only does getting my associates degree in Science and Pre-Nursing get all of my prerequisites out of the way, it is preparing me for my further education afterwards. In high school, every career goal test and
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
Since starting this class, introduction to health care, I have begun to think about what the future holds for me and what I will pursue with my college degree. At this point in time my career goal is to become a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery. I plan on working in a hospital setting where I can continue to learn and practice my profession. Five years after all my schooling and achieving my license, professionally I see myself working at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York, which is a teaching hospital. I would be working on and with patients, while still learning as I practice my previous knowledge. I would be seeing patients with injuries such as an ankle sprain, evaluating x-rays, and possibly sitting on and
Completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) has been one of my goals after I graduated from my Associate Degree in Nursing, and I said one of my goals because my ultimate goal is to become an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. It is the first time I am taking classes online and all my efforts will be in turn this journey into a positive experience to achieve my goals. One of the biggest challenge is to overcome the lack of time between my family and my work, but it is essential for my career to achieve the Bachelor Degree in Nursing, as well as personal development. Although I have had experience as a student, as a nurse, and as a leader, I would like to have more challenging job opportunities in my future. From my college experience,
The goals I set included taking the NCLEX examination once I got approval from the board, getting a few months of work experience in either hospital or skilled nursing facility, and start Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program by spring of 2016. I am lucky that I have been able to accomplish the goals that I set when I was still in nursing school. I also challenged myself to finish the BSN program within a year which is why I decided to study at CSU Fullerton; they offered the 1-year BSN program for registered nurses. To achieve this goal, I quit my job to be a full time student. Now, I have another goal in mind that I want to pursue after school. I want to become a mental health clinical nurse specialist after I get my BSN degree. By December 2016, I will have my BSN degree and I will apply to a hospital and work there for at least two years to gain more knowledge and experience. By early 2019, I will go back to school for a master’s degree. Continuing education in the nursing profession is essential in delivering the highest optimal care to patients. It also allows nurses to have professional growth, and helps nurses to be informed of all the new researches and evidence-based practice (DeCelle, 2015). The higher the level of education a nurse achieves, the more experienced they will be in applying the art and science of nursing in their practice. Nurses will also be more competent and
Committing myself to lifelong learning is my second goal. Nurses need to cultivate and internalize a passion for learning throughout their careers, which provides a foundation for excellence in practice. I would like to become a Critical Care nurse since I work as a Health Technician in the ICU at the VA Hospital –Madison. I love taking care of people at their sickest. The intensity of the care and challenges presented at the job excite and motivate me. However, I’m willing to start on a general floor such as medical-surgical to better prepare myself. I plan to obtain the certificate in the specialty of my choosing as soon as I fulfill the clinical hour requirement for application. After acquiring enough nursing experience, I would like to complete my Doctorate of Nursing degree to become a nurse practitioner with a specialty in Critical Care. I plan to stay current on education by taking courses, attending conferences, obtaining certifications, as well as joining meaningful nursing organizations. I have a strong background in research as evident in working as a research assistant in graduate school and my current involvement in a research project with Dr. Lisa Bradzke for Honor’s Program. My research skills will facilitate my learning process by providing the best evidence based strategies and practices for nursing issues. Completing this goal will not only advance my career, but also expand my effectiveness as a competent
Now as a present-day college student, I’m using my past lessons and experiences to continue my bright future. At this time, my current priority is to transfer to San Diego State University and get my bachelors degree in “Kinesiology With Emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy”. Once that’s done, I’ll have to study another three years in PT graduate school preferably in the University of California, San Francisco. It’s going to be a long road, but I’m confident that I’ll
I have always felt drawn to medicine and working in the medical field. Upon entering college, I oscillated between going into the pre-med program or doing engineering, I had no idea what I was meant to do with my life. In this time of contemplation, I found myself being guided towards engineering, whether this was pressuring from others or God, I’m not sure, but I felt it was the right place for me. Since entering college, my understanding of what it means to be a student has changed. I have found that I needed to make a more conscious effort when studying or doing homework. I have realized that this is the time to learn and absorb knowledge because this is one of the last steps in my education. With this in mind I have been trying to take advantage of the resources the college offers. I have already signed up for a tutor and meet with them once a week. I also visit with my classmates after class or at night if I find I am struggling to complete difficult assignments. By talking to members of my classes, I am expanding my knowledge of the subject, as well as my relationships with those individuals. I have also realized my experiences and performance in
