I would like to thank the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and its Sponsors for continuing my scholarship award for a 2nd year. Being able to receive this great scholarship is a great honor and as a 2nd year recipient, I know that I must continue to uphold the honor this award deserves.
My Father served in the Marine Corps, and thanks his service, the Marine Corps was able to greatly influence my life. Due to my Father being a Marine I grew up understanding the honor and sacrifice that our servicemen and women devoted to our great Country. My Father, however, was not the only one in my family to serve in the military. There is a long line of family members that served in the Armed Forces as well. The only branch my family never served

Since most people do not know where that is, it is about an hour away from Canada, in Upstate New York, and near the Adirondacks and Lake Placid or Saranac Lake. I am majoring in biology and pre-medical studies. At Clarkson, I am part of the Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), The Community of Underrepresented Student (CUPO), the Clarkson Intercultural Ambassadors (CIA), and the Clarkson University Honors Program. So, at school I have a lot of activities and not a lot of free time, which includes my work load. This generous scholarship that was awarded to me will greatly free up my time to continue my studies, without having to worry about seeking out other scholarships. I will also be able to ease some of my burdens about my future financial situation by carrying a lower student loan balance. Also, receiving this scholarship will help me further my goal of becoming a medical doctor, and graduating from medical school. After graduating medical school and becoming a doctor, I plan to head into the field of psychiatry. This very generous scholarship will help fund another year of college, so that I may achieve these lofty goals in the future. My short terms goals for college are to maintain my excellent GPA. A good GPA is essential to getting into medical school and this scholarship will allow me to focus more on my
As far back as I can remember, you have been my personal hero and I owe so much to you, not the least of which is a Marine Corps heritage for our family to include a fantastic career in the Corps for myself. Had it not been for the photos of you and Uncle Bernard in your dress blues, setting on the dresser at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, I may never have joined the Marine Corps. Looking at those photos every time I went there always made me proud of you and Uncle Bernard and were a continuous source of intrigue for me. Those photos along
It has been a dream of mine to attend Texas Tech University, thanks mainly to their agriculture program, but I also chose it because it is the closest university to my home, a small farming community around eighty miles from Lubbock. I will be living in a dorm, which creates another financial need. Housing and dining are not cheap, and this scholarship would help lighten this financial load.
For the last three years, I have been involved with the Young Marines Program. The program is an excellent program for youths aged 8 to 18.
Thank You scholarship selection committee for selecting me to be one of this years scholarship recipients. I am honored to have received this award that will help me along this new chapter of my life. The Hispanic Development Fund Scholarship will help me tremendously to help me pay for my fees at Park University. It helps my parents and I to worry less about paying for college. I plan to major in biology to later get in toxicology. I’m very passionate about the field that I want to pursue. Without the support that this organization gives to many students many of us wouldn’t be able to have the opportunity to go to college to accomplish our dreams. I will work very hard to not let this organization down, my family and myself down. Thank you
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
I grew up in a very patriotic family in a very patriotic part of the country. My family has a military history: my Dad was in the Navy, my Grandpa in the Army, my uncles in various branches of service and so on and so forth. They all fought proudly and instilled in
I plan to graduate from College of the Sequoias with an Associate’s Degree in communications and to maintain a grade point average of at least a 3.7. Once I earn my degree, I will transfer to a university where I will begin to work on my master’s degree. With my master’s degree I can pursue my dream of working for Disney Parks in public relations. While I am still a college student, I will apply and hopefully be given the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program as well as a Disney Professional Internship. These internships will help me to learn more about working in the field of communications, to gain practical experience and to network with individuals who can help me achieve my career goals. A scholarship would be incredibly helpful for me to achieve all that I intend to by allowing me to devote more time to my school work. Since I currently work two jobs, as a tutor and as a sales associate, it is often difficult to find time and energy to complete my schoolwork. If I were to earn a scholarship, it would allow me to work fewer hours a week so that I can focus more of my energy and time on my education. That way, I can get the best grades possible and have the best chance of success in my
but I Think that for probably a different reason. Out of all of my close family I am the only one who has joined the ARMY. I am PVT with a E-1 pay grade serving MOS 11B (Infantry).
My parents will have two kids in college at once, one after the other, and this scholarship would help them with the expenses that they will have to pay. College Raptor has also given me an idea on what schools to look at, and colleges that I didn’t even know was close to home. The schools all have information that is available without going to each
Since I was a little kid, I have always wanted to be the physical therapist for as long as I could remember. I have always been fascinated with the Physical therapy and how the doctors know exactly what to do, and I have always wanted to help people like those doctors do every single day. I realize that I will have to work my tail off the whole 4 years I will be attending your college, starting this upcoming fall. I am very excited about what my future holds for me, especially if you will accept me into your college, and give me the scholarship to help me. The scholarship means more to me than just money, it means that I have only one chance and I have to take advantage of this chance you may be giving me. This scholarship will help me get
I cannot express in mere words how grateful I am for your donation through the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship towards my education, more importantly my hopes and dreams regarding my future. As I enter my sophomore year of college at Pace, I realize that I have even more responsibilities to fulfill as a committed student and member of the Pace community. It is because of your tremendous kindness in offering me the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship that I am getting this opportunity and so much more. So I sincerely thank you.
When returning to school as a non-traditional student you need to set goals for yourself. I have decided to return to school as a non-traditional student, at the age of 35. Almost all of my adulthood was spent in the United States Marine Corps. Due to scheduling conflicts during my time in the military I was unable to attend college. Now that I am out of the Military it has been hard to secure a new career path, because businesses want someone with a degree.
I am applying for the Army Health Services Professional Scholarship because my goal, which I’ve had since high school, is to become a physician in the Army. I see this opportunity as not only a phenomenal way to get through medical schools without accruing significant debt, but also as an opportunity to serve my country in a field that fascinates me. I initially chose to pursue medical school because I saw all the good in the world my father does as a physician. Whether he was stitching up friends after somebody caught an elbow in a backyard basketball game, watching him calmly handle an emergency situation with a crowd of concerned bystanders looking on, or evaluating me for a sickness or injury, I came to realize just how special his job was. The ability to heal someone is a powerful thing, as is the ability to know what to do in an emergency situation when someone’s life is on the line.
Good afternoon staff, family members, friends, and fellow graduates. It is an honor to speak to all of you today. First of all, I would like to thank my family, especially my parents, for all of their unconditional love and support. Thank you mom, for teaching me to never give up and for being there for me when I needed you most. Thank you dad, for always supporting my dreams and encouraging me.
To Mr. & Mrs. David Jarvis, Thank you for reviewing my application for the Jarvis Scholarship, I am thankful for your time and your generosity. Taken through Texas Tech University, I would use the scholarship funds to help pay for the summer classes that I plan to complete for my junior year of high school. It would go to 1 of the 5 classes and the textbooks that I will have to purchase for the classes that I will be required to take in order for me to successfully complete my junior year. I reason that I deserve the scholarship because I work hard in each and every one of my classes, I study and contemplate how I can do better on tests and other academics that I am involved in. I also deserve the scholarship because I am dedicated to
