Thank You scholarship selection committee for selecting me to be one of this years scholarship recipients. I am honored to have received this award that will help me along this new chapter of my life. The Hispanic Development Fund Scholarship will help me tremendously to help me pay for my fees at Park University. It helps my parents and I to worry less about paying for college. I plan to major in biology to later get in toxicology. I’m very passionate about the field that I want to pursue. Without the support that this organization gives to many students many of us wouldn’t be able to have the opportunity to go to college to accomplish our dreams. I will work very hard to not let this organization down, my family and myself down. Thank you
The National Honors Society is defined as an organization that acknowledges remarkable high school students who exemplify leadership, character, and service. But possessing these qualities, goes beyond a definition. It is a person: one who upholds their own moral convictions, is always willing to help others, and tries to be an integral part of the community. I believe I work to define myself as this kind of person daily and would be a valuable member to the National Honors Society.
Over all, I believe I embody the type of person this foundation is trying to help through this scholarship. This scholarship would mean the world to me and my family, it would help me achieve all my goals and dreams. I am confident that I am a Strong Candidate for the HSF Scholarship, and I believe I am very well rounded in all aspects of the requirements. Thank you for conserving my
I believe in the value of nurses, I believe I will one day be a nurse just like those I now admire, and I thank this scholarship for also believing in my potential as a future nurse.
I hope that you can see my education and future are advancing as we speak. This doesn’t mean I haven’t had a few bumps in the road, because I have. Actually, some of the bumps have unfortunately been financial aid. But, I am growing. It is a day to day continual experience of growth and it’s exciting for me to see where it takes me. Again, thank you for this opportunity and all the work you do as an organization.
I have thus far endured through having a severe eye condition, not being able to have the kind of financial support I need from my family and being limited from getting a support from the US government because I am not a citizen or legal resident. But, I have also made both social contributions and academical achievements that have brought purpose to the cause of the hardships in my life. And after being though it all and coming out with a more precise strive for a better future, I face, yet again another hindrance to my plan to study Biochemistry and influence as many lives as I can in a positive way. And, since I need a support in order to reach my goal, that is why I need the Esperanza Scholarship.
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
To Mr. David Ibarra (Ibarra Foundation) My name is Silvia Araoz, I am from Peru. I am very grateful because I am one of the winners of the Ibarra Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship will give me the opportunity to finish my Paralegal Program at Salt Lake Community College. Now, I will be able to face this competitive life and develop my professional legal career helping immigrant people who is still struggling to find a bright path for them and their families. As a single mom and hispanic immigrant woman we deserve a better environment to life with regulations and laws that can help us to be successful in our lives. We come to this country with a commitment to contribute to its greatness, most of us are unskilled but our strongness and
For a year and half after my graduation in December 2014, I have taken the time to strengthen my application. I worked as a dental assistant at Dr. Veroncia Chang’s office and Berkeley Orinda Oral Surgery to gain hands-on experience and better understanding of the profession. While working part-time, I took 21 units of upper division biology courses at UC Berkeley Extension to raise my undergraduate GPA and to equip myself better with broader biological knowledge. Furthermore, I retook my DAT and improved on both of the academic average and total science scores (AA 23, TS 25). Volunteer opportunities at the Lawrence Hall of Science and YWCA were both very rewarding times to stay connected to the local community.
I hope you are doing well. We spoke awhile back about the scholarship I received from the African American committee. I followed the instructions in the email you gave me but I have yet to receive a response. I just wanted to make sure that I had done what I needed to receive the scholarship award.
Growing up in the Andes of Peru and currently living in the Mid-west, I’ve come to greatly appreciate the benefits of being multicultural. I know that to get the most out a new culture, one has to truly submerge one’s self and that’s exactly what I plan to during my study abroad. I study Biomedical engineering (BME) at Purdue University with the goal of working in the medical devices industry. Over the next Fall 2014 Semester, in the interest of expanding my studies, I will be participating in Denmark’s Technical University (DTU) exchange program. This program is unique because of the specialized BME classes, because it integrates our BME senior design project and because of the opportunities only found in Denmark. Thus, Denmark’s Technical University (DTU) will help me achieve my academic and profession goals and will make me a well-rounded engineer which will further enable me to succeed in improving the health of people and communities.
My intense passion for learning has shifted my life in a new and positive direction. I feel that my personal experiences and challenges have served as a basis for growth and preparation for a life of helping others. This is why I have worked so hard to complete my undergraduate education despite my many responsibilities. I believe that this makes me a great candidate for this program. I am a diligent and attentive person who deeply cares for others in need. I feel that everything that has brought me to where I am today has shaped my life and will make me a great social worker. I want to thank you very much for considering my application for the master of social work program.
I learned that life is going to throw you challenges and will attempt to set us back from our goals. Anybody can achieve any goal they set their minds to with hard work and determination. With my learning disability, I worked harder than those who were not limited in their strengths, but this turned out to be my ultimate strength. Working hard will only help you achieve in life. I view effort and trying as keys to success. I am a student diagnosed with a learning disability associated with my written expression, writing to your foundation because I never let a setback stop me from achieving my goals. I believe that I have an extraordinary message for others. I feel if I were the recipient for your scholarship it would definitely push me significantly closer to my goals coming from a son of a hard working single mother that I wish to give back what she has given
Applying to colleges has reignited my desire to reach Little Rock’s escape velocity. I’m ready to trade green trees and hiking trails for skyscrapers and digital billboards. Adjusting won’t be easy at first, but I trust that I’ll adapt quickly. Manhattan is where I belong. I am determined to find myself working on Wall Street one way or another.
As a freshman, I thought no one would know who I was by the time I became a senior. From being involved in my school and community I have changed that idea. I think that I am the best candidate to qualify for this scholarship because I am a very hard working and driven student. I have had many academic achievements and have been very involved. I believe I am deserving of this scholarship because I have spent many hours of studying to get where I am today.
Our most popular seminars are the Scholarship Workshop presentation, a one, two or three hour interactive workshop; and the Scholarship Workshop Weekend, a full day and a half of activities designed to help students and parents leave the weekend with scholarship essays, résumés, and applications completed and ready to go. The Scholarship Workshop presentation and the Scholarship Workshop Weekend are both interactive seminars designed to help students conduct a successful scholarship search from the research involved in finding scholarship money to the scholarship essays, scholarship interview tips and strategies involved in winning them.
