In the school I volunteer their aim is to: Promote and offer opportunities for the learning partnership between children, parents, teachers and governors. Enable each child to achieve his/her full potential through a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum. Encourage each child to develop a sense of self-esteem, self-disciplines, personal responsibility and respect for others. Promote spiritual awareness and respect for all other religions, races and cultures. Provide a stimulating , safe and secure environment, which fosters a sense of pride and ownership in the school. Provide a broad range of challenges and experiences in order to enhance the confidence, knowledge and skills of the children in order to prepare them for the next phase of their education and the world of work. To work with other local schools to develop social, educational and sports opportunities in a wider context. Values. At this particular primary school, they understand core British Values as: Democracy. Rule of Law. Individual Liberty. Mutual respect and tolerance towards those of different faiths and cultures. These values flow through the very fabric of the school ethos. Pupils are reminded of them both explicitly during key stage assemblies, displays and implicitly through carefully planned units of work in various subjects. At this school, values of tolerance and respect permeate all areas of school life.

Answer: A schoolâ€TMs ethos should be recognisable upon entering the school. The ethos, along with the schoolâ€TMs mission statement, aims and values, should also be evident in the school prospectus and on the school website for parents and others to view so they can envisage the schoolâ€TMs positive environment and understand the expectations within the school.
A schoolâ€TMs ethos, mission, aim and values can be found on the school website, in the prospectus, at school open days, in school newsletters or magazine, on school display boards, during school assembly and also on the bottom of a school formal letter.
It is important to have this type of displays as it establish the believes in the school. When going through the process of making enrolment decisions for their children into a school, parents will find it useful to see the display so that way they obtain an initial idea about the
school. Where parent cannot access all the information required, it may be better to clarify this information during a school open day, individual viewing of the school or during a meeting with the school staff. Once parents are visiting the school, a copy of the prospectus should be available for parents to keep and read through, enabling them to gain more knowledge of the school.

When skills are applied, students demonstrate their knowledge and ability to function in our current world. I value critical thinking in our students so they can extend their knowledge and skills to solve complex problems benefitting our present and future. I value citizenship and feel that education has a responsibility to model and nurture character qualities in our students. Educating students is raising them equipped with tools that will enable them to function as contributing participants in a productive society. Knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and citizenship are educational values at the core of developing a student ready for the world’s challenges.

We have a responsibility to cultivate a sense of community and belonging. The quote, “It takes a village to raise a child”, rings true in so many ways. Education is a collaborative effort that needs leadership and a strong vision. Co-operation among all stakeholders is essential. A community is an essential extension of a school. Relationships between a school and its’ community, whether educational, entrepreneurial, co-operative or charitable, should not just be encouraged but pursued.
