We looked very carefully at your comments. Although your feedback is well intentioned, it does not adhere to their criteria for the following reasons because AUPHA requires us to address each question by providing specific information in our responses to the questions: 1. First and foremost, there are page limits. We cannot exceed 65 pages. 2. As far as the spacing is concerned, we must upload the document into a format that has been predetermined by AUPHA which includes spacing and margins. The statistics that are used in the Self-Study were provided by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. 4. As we completed the HCAP Self-Study, we assigned specific faculty to review the information on the TSU website. Please note, the reviewers will look at what we included in the Self-Study and compare it with what is on the University’s website. So, if you find that the information in the Self-Study is incorrect, keep in mind, we got it from the website. Therefore, for the purpose of consistency, I would suggest that we leave it “as is”. 5. You referred to the University’s Master Plan. Well, the question is not related to the University’s Strategic or Master Plan. We were specifically asked about the HCAP Program’s goals, objectives and strategic plan. We only provide the information that they request. Since they did not request the University’s Master Plan, we will not include it. 6. When you referred to the Department Head’s duties, they only asked for a “summary” of the department head’s responsibilities and not a “list”. If they require additional information, we will provide it during our meeting with the site team. In addition, providing a list could cause us to exceed our 65 page

The people at the helm of affairs are responsible for formulating rules, procedures and guidance and are for enforcing the rules. There are clear cut boundaries for each of the roles.
HCH uses the SWOT analysis and gives their top five strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. HCH strategic plan was developed by staff, clients, and community members, which shows how the community input is important to the organization and making a difference in their clients lives. I would improve minor things to the HCH strategic plan. The vision statement should not be a part of the mission statement. The mission statement and vision statement are two different things and should be expressed differently. Within the mission statement, HCH includes the vision statement, some goals, and services that will provide in order to improve the organization. Goals should not be included in the mission statement and then repeated again in the long-term goals section because it was stated once and should not be stated again. HCH having a strategic plan for 5 years is not a good idea because anything can happen and obstacles can occur. Health care for the homeless goes into detail about what their purpose is and what they are trying to achieve to make the organization a better place, which is extremely good because it shows how they want people to follow alongg with their plan and see how they want potential years to go. Strategic planning did nothing but hinder Youth Haven from making more profit, keeping investors happy, and staying on mission. It was not the best management technique for Youth Haven. Since they had a deficit of $20,000, I believe they should not have outsourced to a third-party for a fee. Because of this their funding continued to get increasingly tighter. They still had a deficit and if they can not keep their investors happy, they are going to leave too. HCA, after following a conservative financial policy since its establishment, has entered the new decade preparing to make some changes in order to realign their financial strategy and capital structure. Since establishment, HCA has often been used as a measure for the entire proprietary hospital industry. Is it now time for the market to realign their expectations for the industry as a whole? HCA has target goals which need to be met in order to accomplish milestones in the future. The problem arises as to which area holds priority to the company. HCA must decide how the key components of their financial strategy and policy should my approached in order to meet their future goals.

Before when our HCAHPS scores where in the eighty percent level overall the survey reports were read only on Mondays. We have gained new employees which has helped in productivity, but has caused a decrease in patient satisfaction. The director reads the scores everyday now which one could consider it as nagging or a negative reinforcement. (Hirsch, n.d.).
