This essay will be focusing on the reflection of group work that was completed. “A reflective practice is a dynamic process which requires a cynical approach” Chong (2009). According to Wilding (2008) Reflection is an important skill to require in the area of nursing. The purpose of the group work was to create a PowerPoint and a piktochart for a particular topic, in this case it was focusing on mental illness in adolescents and children. Using Gibbs’ (1988) model of reflection, I will be discussing each step of the model in depth. These steps include; description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. The positive aspects included; that my partner and I were geographically close so we were able to meet up and collect information for the project. I also get along with my partner really well outside of the group work as we are great friends. My contribution in the group was to complete the power point and collecting the data for questions three, four and five. Adding my information into the power point and providing those finds to my partner who was completing the piktochart as we had a limited amount of time. She provided the information for question one and two as well as locating a relevant video. She had sent me the information for her question so that I was able to incorporate it into the power point presentation. However, as well as good aspects there some negative aspects. The only negative aspect was communication. I feel that my communication style may have cause a bit of frustration between my partner and i. I can be confrontational when frustrated which I believe is something I need to fix in order to be less confrontational. My partner didn’t have much influence on me As a result of completing this assessment task as part of a group. I have learnt that I need to slightly alter how I communicate and that I should read people’s emotions a lot more, in particularly when confronting. That how I approach a situation shouldn’t be as confrontational as not everyone has the same style of communication as
